  1. Thanks, Bradley, even though after all the bragging of how good she is, I woke up to find her sitting on MY DESK yesterday!! She got sprayed with the squirt bottle and a very stearn talking to! She's now banned from the model room, but thankfully I didn't have anything sitting on the desk, especially my Ford big rig I've been working on for the past 4 or 5 months. If she would have broke anything on it, she may have been looking for a new home! Not really, I'm not mean, but she would have been in deep trouble!!
  2. I know I promised pics of the finished trailer on Saturday, but that won't be happening! The last coat of paint I put on Saturday was to fix where I had put a fingerprint in the roof and had to sand it out, and I thought that would be all for the trailer. I went to start the finishing touches on tonight like the rear tandems, doors, and landing gear, but for some reason, everywhere I touched a new fingerprint showed up in the paint! ARRRRRGGGGGG! So, trailer pics will not be coming for a while, I'm going to try to find a large enough container so the trailer can go for a swim in "Lake Brake"! I KNEW I SHOULDN'T USE KRYLON PAINT!! I have never had luck with it, but I that it was going to be different this time, the first coats came out so nice, except for the first fingerprint that was my fault. After over 24 hours, it should have been fine, but that wasn't the case. I still have some things to finish on the truck, so I can concentrate on that until I get the trailer stipped and get new paint on it.
  3. That looks very real, how did you make it?
  4. Actually, Cody, the way you see both trucks are what I plan on doing, as well as a Mopar (probably a 70 Coronet Super Bee P/S) on the wedge. I'm sorta thinking along the lines of a homegrown drag team. It's just some rough ideas and shevled at the moment, but when I do start the project, I'll have it posted!
  5. The Dodge is a nice kit for a snapper, too. I have two and would like more, since the two I have are converted for the Open Road camper and Racers Wedge.
  6. Sounds like I have to get some extra cash together!
  7. I agree with Jim, you got to take care of you first. As I said when you first posted about the flooded basement in the "What did you get today?" thread, when you get everything sorted out, post the kits that got wet and I'm sure everyone here would be more than happy to help you out. If you can print your own decals, we could even scan decals and send you the scans to help you out. By the way, Jim, if there was a way I could send you some of this rain, I would be more than happy to trade you for some of that Florida sunshine!! I'm only about 250-300 miles to the southeast of Pat and we've been getting much of the same weather. While it's not caused as much problems for me as it has for Pat, it stinks because I have to do all my spray painting outside!
  8. Sorry, I didn't even relize you had anything in there.
  9. Billy, I can't really tell because of the slight glare on the box, but does it appear to have drag slicks on it? If so, since the kit is 1:32 scale, you might be able to use 1:25 scale drag tires on it.
  10. I hate to tease, but the engine has to be secret for now. It will definitely make this a large car and it will be a triple digit truck that could fly if it had wings!
  11. Again, I have to agree. Although most fleets run the Budd wheels on their trailers, I tend to build my trucks to an owner-operator type spec, and 10 hole Alcoas are the only way to go for a working show truck or even a nice working truck look.
  12. I agree 1000%! One that doesn't require all the extra work to correct like Italeri's reefer would be great! The option of dry and reefer would be nice, too, since the main difference would be the nose, and there are no nice modern 53 footers on the market.
  13. I know one or two companies had kits of the Kammback (Type K) Trans Ams and I think a Camaro like it as well. I really wish those would be reissued!
  14. I'm not sure about a mural on the front of the trailer, I may have to throw that idea around! I'm not sure if I will have the chrome strips on or under the cab and sleeper yet, but one of my local hobby shops have K&S (I think) Stainless Steel strips, and I'm going to try to find some of that to try to make some! If I can't find the right size, I was planning on using some Evergreen plastic strips and cover them with BMF. I just wish there were still some shows close for me to take this to! By the way, I will be starting working on the engine soon, but I won't be able to post pics immediately of it. I started this project as part of a community build on the "other" site that rhymes with Scrap Auto, and I know there are many others like me who post there as well as here, and the engine choice is top secret until the build is finished. There are other scale truckers talking scale trucker trash over there in that community build, and I'm going to blow not only their rigs off the road, but their minds as well! The only hint and teaser is it isn't a conventional Detroit or Cummins, it's a whole lot more! You'll just have to stay tuned until the big unveiling!
  15. I wish I had one! All I have is the 79 Trans AM.
  16. I agree with Jim, and also think some chains on the trailer as well, and something to block the sleeper hole in the back wall.
  17. Thanks for the info, Dave. If I make a suggestion, though, if you do have super singles in any future kits, please have them as an option. I personally have never liked the super singles, being a truck driver, I like to know I have the security of two tires so if one blows, I can limp the remaining 17 to the nearest exit or truck stop. I also think having both the duals and super singles in the kit would also be useful in conversions, as the duals could be used as the standard axles and the optional super singles would be useful for heavy haul lift axle conversions.
  18. Oh, by the way everyone, very small mimi update. I have the last (hopefully) coat of paint drying as I type on the trailer. I got really lucky, because I beat the rain today, it was nice and sunny about an hour ago, and now it's raining! Good thing I got the paint out when I did. I should have some pics of the FINISHED trailer up by tomorrow night.
  19. Thanks Kostas, and I'm imagining that as well! I hope to get some nice pics outside like that with the trailer on it when it's either finished or near finished.
  20. OH YEAH, there will be chicken lights on it, it's a bullrack, ain't it! I just hope no planes mistake it for an airport runway! If there's two things I like on trucks, it's chrome and chicken lights! You might be a chickenhauler if your truck has more lights than your Christmas tree!
  21. Nah, I was thinking hot pink for the fenders!!
  22. Do you offer towels with your builds? I need something to clean the drool off the keyboard!!
  23. Thanks for the help so far everybody. I'm liking all the ideas so far, and I think I'll dig through the paint supply here later and see what the possibilities are! That, or take a trip to the hobby shop!
  24. Gimmie fourty acres and I'll turn this rig around!
  25. What was the original plan you had with it? I would say definitely DON'T scrap it, it sounds like you've got a lot of work into it already. I would say just maybe set it on the shelf for a little while, you may want to work on it at a later time. Of course, if you do decide to trade it, let me know!
