  1. Cool beans Jon, fun build, I'll be bookmarking this one.
  2. Very nice job on this one Bernard.
  3. Love it. There's just something about longroofs that I really like.
  4. I finally built a model that my wife wants to show off in the living room - I ain't givin' it up that easy. I scratched the racks from pictures of racks I found on the 'net.

  6. MassCar and the Cape Cod Scale Modelers present the 23rd Annual Model Exhibition - Sunday, March 20, 2011 at the Holiday Inn Taunton. NOTE: The Holiday Inn in Taunton has temporarily changed their name to the Taunton Inn and Conference Center. Show flyer in PDF format Online contest registration form Vendor flyer in PDF format
  7. MassCar moved their show to March so it doesn't conflict with the NNL East in NJ. The NNL guys had to move the date of their show because of an issue with their venue, so basically the two clubs swapped months. PDF of the MassCar 2011 show flyer
  8. Thanks everyone, I had fun building it. I always wanted to build some sort of surf wagon, but I wanted it to be different. The hearse body fit the bill perfectly.
  9. Just finished reading the thread to this point. Very nice work. Hope to see it in Taunton in March.
  10. I built this using the 1932 Ford Hearse resin body from Race Motor Replicas. Chassis, fenders and interior are converted parts from the Revell 32 Ford. Engine is an old Revell Parts Pack Cadillac. Replicas and Miniatures Co. of Maryland supplied the Cadillac aircleaner, skull shifter knob, and inner door handles. I made the surfboards from basswood and mahogany. They are based on real longboards made by Greg Noll. I made a few other items to go into the back - a folding beach chair, a sleeping bag and a fruit crate to hold some other small items. I used the Goleta Lemons label on the crate to commemorate the first official drag race that was held in Goleta, California in April of 1949. The best part is my wife liked it well enough that she had me display in on a shelf in the living room, where the grown-ups will see it. I feel like a big boy. Thanks for looking.
  11. Jon, It's this Saturday, usually starts at 9am Kevin Kees (802) 447-7957 (after 6 p.m.) Mark Trombley (518) 686-3012
  12. I built my first model when I was five. It was a Fokker Triplane (1/72 scale). I couldn't read the instructions but I could follow the pictures. That was 48 years ago.
  13. You are a machine.
  14. Another great piece, Lyle.
  15. If you go to Micheals.com and sign up for their e-mail list they send a new ad every week. In the ad is a link to their coupons, and one of the weekly coupons is always a 40 or 50% off any one regularly priced item. They send new ones every week. I just bought a Revell funny car yesterday there for $14.99. And you can use the coupons for anything, like nice paintbrushes.
  16. Thanks, I built it back in the day, before I was medicated. The doctors say I'm much better now.
  17. This will be on my Christmas wish list, one for a stock build and one for a custom.
  18. Harry, you photoshopped out the only identifying mark on the car. Without the logo on the grill, it's just another silver ToyoHondNisHyundSubaFordaChevaVolksalet...

  20. It's a 2007 Jellybean
  21. John, I have to agree with John G on this one - not a fan of the real car, but watching you work is a joy. I have a couple of cars on my "to do" list that I keep thinking will be "too hard", and then you pull this one out of your hat. It's an inspiration. Thanks,
  22. That is slick as snot! I will have to use that on my next Kustom. Thanks
  23. Cool, you should do more of this.
