  1. Great color! Very nicely done!!
  2. LOVE this!!
  3. Then, I did some work to the ATROCIOUS fit of the hood. I had to add some .020" sheet styrene to raise the hood to level with the fenders but I've still got another .010" to go! In addition to that, I had to add a .020" strip to the front of the hood opening to get that closer. We're still not quite done but it's looking much better.
  4. I've been working on many small projects on the car it seems. Not any of them are quite complete yet but I thought I'd show some of my progress. After my color change decision, I decided the car would look better if it was smoothed out a bit. I still plan on using the stainless trim and the "Corvette" logo on the side of the car but I plan on shaving everything else, bumpers included. Here you can see where I was working on the rear exhaust outlets and the trunk lock cylinder. The four holes you see there will be filled also. I figured a big ol' chrome toothy grill would look kinda funny with the bumpers gone so I came up with this. I've still got some work to do to what you see behind the grill mesh. I don't really care for what is currently behind it.
  5. I'm loving the look you're going for! It's gonna be a mean one!
  6. LMAO! Great, I have one that I need to get done. This doesn't sound very good.
  7. Nice save!!
  8. The two worst ones I've done to date is AMT's '69 Chevelle SS and Revell's old '57 Belair hardtop. That's basing it on fit and finish and end result.
  9. Awesome!! Love them both!!
  10. Please don't stop on this! I'm loving this project!
  11. Thank you so much guys! I finally made it to the LHS and picked up the paint for this bad boy. I decided against going with the stock white and instead I'm going with a gunmetal gray with red interior and black soft top. I want it to have just a little more attitude than I feel like the white could deliver.
  12. Thank you!
  13. Have you had the urge yet?
  14. They will stand off just a bit when they're put on permanently.
  15. I've never seen this kit before. It's wild! Very cleanly built and an excellent job here!
  16. The first models that I felt blew me away was when AMT released the '66 Nova SS and Revell's '67 Chevelle SS. It just seemed like it had gone to that next level.
  17. Thank you Randy! Nothing too exciting but I drilled out the head for the exhaust and primed the engine tonight. The exhaust conundrum was the last piece to the puzzle on my engine so now that that's ironed out, it's onto paint and assembly. I worked on a couple of other things but want to wait just a bit before sharing.
  18. Ok. Well the restaurant is opened and doing well so it looks like I might have some spare time this fall and as promised, I'm getting back on this badboy. Not a whole bunch happened yesterday as I spent the majority of my time at the bench getting reacquainted with the darn thing! I was always unsure and hesitant on how I was gonna pull off the exhaust system I had planned. After staring at it for the afternoon, it suddenly hit me and away we went. There will be more pictures coming as I put this together but I have my exits all sorted out and I thought I'd show them off.
  19. I can't even contain my excitement!! I used to have a '65 Satellite and I'm SOOOO excited about this new kit. I'll be standing in line on the day they're available!!
  20. That sucks....
  21. Can't wait to see how this turns out!
