  1. Not to mention, I don't know why he's so serious about working on a car that he can't fit into.
  2. I dig the signage on the doors. That's great!!
  3. Nice work Dave!! It looks good.
  4. I've never seen one done like this before. I'll be watching.
  5. It's looking good. Should be a real nice car.
  6. That is looking good Paul. I dig it!
  7. The Revell ProModeler version is FAR superior.
  8. I just recently decided that I had to have this kit. I'll be watching your progress.
  9. I kinda agree on both sides but I would tend to side with Craig more here and only because.....if the person asking about the Daytona model doesn't know about the ProModeler version, we're doing him a dis-service by not letting him know there's a MUCH better kit if all he wants to do is build a Daytona. However, I agree with the other sentiment too. I've spent the last year working over AMT's '69 Chevelle and I have to say that while I hate that kit, it's the only one out there so I have to stay the course.
  10. Thanks Donn! Also, Dr Cranky......after I started watching that last video I thought you were gonna show everyone how to properly clean that airbrush. I remember I was always trying to find something like that when I got started. If you haven't already, you might throw one together. I'm sure there are quite a few out there that would love to watch it. Great thread guys!
  11. Holy moly....this is wild! Very creative!
  12. Hey, what about using this method with Testors Flat Paints? For doing interior stuff?
  13. Kinda limiting isn't it?
  14. I have a notebook which I put down all of the notes from the build so I don't forget stuff. I jot down colors used, modifications made, what parts came from which kits, which aftermarket suppliers I used for certain parts, etc, etc. I also keep track of the completion dates.
  15. Let us know how it works out for you.
  16. I'm still trying to figure out which I like better. I'm using the Paasche VL dual action for color and the H single action for clear coating. Either are great brushes.
  17. I'm sure this will turn out fantastic just like your other builds. It's sometimes fun to get outside of your box. It will only sharpen your skills and make you an even better modeler.
  18. I don't know about that. It very well may be the case with a lot of the shops out there but I think Doug had things pretty well under control. His prices were reasonable, he had a great selection of kits and aftermarket accessories, and he sold planes, trains, automobiles and even sports cards. The man was in business for 30 years! I think he had a good idea of what he was doing. It just came down to the economy, the lack of interest these days in our hobby and the fact that he was 69 years old. He's at that age when it's time to retire. He also recently had a stroke. It was time to hang it up. I'm very saddened by this but I wish him the best and I also want to thank him for running the place the way he did for as long as he did.
  19. ...and I'm goin' with him!!
  20. Amazing!! You guys are very talented!
  21. This is also something that interests me as this is something I'm about to get started with. I'll be watching this thread. Thank you.
  22. RC Country....that's right. See? I even screwed up their name. It was good seeing you too Don.
  23. And here's what I started playing with last night. Time to move onto the front. Here's where I'm working on the spindles... And with lowering the car with the dropped spindles and also the large wheels/tires that I'm using, I had to shorten the length of the lower control arms. It might be kinda hard to see in these next two pics but the first one shows the left side control arm that's had a section taken out of it and the second pic shows where they've both been shortened. More to come. Thanks for looking.
  24. Yay! They fit now!!
