  1. Wow. You were a busy boy this year. Nice work!!
  2. I at one time had 300+ kits. I ended up selling the whole thing. When I came around and got back into the hobby again, I made a list of the kits that I wanted to build. I don't just grab up everything that comes my way anymore. I only get the ones that I feel like I just can't live without. I'm approximately ten (or so) kits away from having all of the ones from my list and that will put me around the 100 mark. Then, I can focus on just building. I will probably pick up the occassional new release when they come out with something else I can't live without but, for the most part I'm pretty satisfied.
  3. That's two more than I got done this year! Nice job on both!
  4. I've been itching to get a '74 Cutlass. My parents had one when I was a kid. It was that brown color with a white opera top. He put 15x8 Corvette rally's on it with white lettered tires. It was a cool looking car. I'd like to build a replica of it.
  5. It's a great board if you're looking for information or inspiration on that type of subject matter.
  6. OH YEAH!!! Popcorn is popped.......I'm in the front row for this one!
  7. No, they're from the "California Wheels" version of Revell's '67 Chevelle SS396.
  8. No worries. You've done plenty.
  9. I was going to say that frame looked familiar. I did a lot of trimming on mine also. Keep up the good work. I love the look you're going for.
  10. I'll use my first one here for Roger Hayes (Plowboy). Thank you for taking time out of your schedule recently to not only read my want ad for a much needed part, but for looking for and locating it, driving it down to the Post Office, paying to ship it and on top of that, being concerned with it's timely delivery and also if it was exactly what I was looking for or not. ......and not asking for a single thing back! You, my friend, are a darn nice guy and like I said, just let me know if you need a favor from me.
  11. Thanks Roger. I'll look into that too.
  12. Nice job on that weathering! Wow! Neat build!
  13. That's kinda the way I'm leaning too.
  14. You could always use a tri-power 348 and the Offenhauser valve covers from the AMT '62 409... I'm just sayin'.
  15. I seriously can't get over how much I love this thing..... I keep coming back.
  16. Nice job on this. Clean and simple!! I like it!
  17. So today I was fiddling around with this and I noticed that the frame rails didn't sit down flush with my workbench right where I cut the frame and made my extensions to extend out the wheelbase. I thought this was all good to go but I may have just checked the frame for straightness from the top, not so much in if it was level from the bench. Oh the joys of airing all of my mistakes in a build thread.... So, I made a cut and kinda "wedged" styrene in the cut to level it out. I still have the other side to go as it is also suffering from the same problem. But, I started to feel like the whole set-up was a little.....crappy. I don't doubt that I can get it all straightened up but then I started pondering the idea of using the kit-supplied frame along with the lengthened Corvette drivetrain assembly and installing all of the Corvette suspension components onto the original frame. What do you guys think?
  18. I did.
  19. :o I think I'm in love......
  20. That's disgusting!!
  21. You're quite the painter! Looks fantastic!
  22. You must not have met Mr Bare-Metal yet. A little foil would really bring those alive. Great looking builds.
