I at one time had 300+ kits. I ended up selling the whole thing. When I came around and got back into the hobby again, I made a list of the kits that I wanted to build. I don't just grab up everything that comes my way anymore. I only get the ones that I feel like I just can't live without. I'm approximately ten (or so) kits away from having all of the ones from my list and that will put me around the 100 mark. Then, I can focus on just building. I will probably pick up the occassional new release when they come out with something else I can't live without but, for the most part I'm pretty satisfied.

I've been itching to get a '74 Cutlass. My parents had one when I was a kid. It was that brown color with a white opera top. He put 15x8 Corvette rally's on it with white lettered tires. It was a cool looking car. I'd like to build a replica of it.

It's a great board if you're looking for information or inspiration on that type of subject matter.

No, they're from the "California Wheels" version of Revell's '67 Chevelle SS396.

I was going to say that frame looked familiar. I did a lot of trimming on mine also. Keep up the good work. I love the look you're going for.

You could always use a tri-power 348 and the Offenhauser valve covers from the AMT '62 409... I'm just sayin'.

So today I was fiddling around with this and I noticed that the frame rails didn't sit down flush with my workbench right where I cut the frame and made my extensions to extend out the wheelbase. I thought this was all good to go but I may have just checked the frame for straightness from the top, not so much in if it was level from the bench. Oh the joys of airing all of my mistakes in a build thread.... So, I made a cut and kinda "wedged" styrene in the cut to level it out. I still have the other side to go as it is also suffering from the same problem. But, I started to feel like the whole set-up was a little.....crappy. I don't doubt that I can get it all straightened up but then I started pondering the idea of using the kit-supplied frame along with the lengthened Corvette drivetrain assembly and installing all of the Corvette suspension components onto the original frame. What do you guys think?
