  1. Nicely done model of what I've heard is a difficult example.
  2. Funny thing is, for my dad, the one that got away was a '65 Impala just like the commercial. It was just a standard Impala 2 door hardtop, not a Super Sport. It was red with black interior, had a 327 with a 4-speed and he and his best friend rebuilt the engine on their knees in the garage. From the stories I've heard from him and his friend (who he's still friends with to this day, and this was back in about '69-'70), it was quite the terror on the street. It upset several cars it shouldn't have (GTO's, Super Sport Chevelles, etc) and he would do anything to get it back. I would do anything to find it for him!
  3. This is totally cool. I wish I had my first build!
  4. I almost didn't click on this because my first thought was "Who'd make a lowrider out of a Thunderbolt?" but then I clicked on it anyway. Glad I did. This is superbly build. Extra clean, nice color combo. Standing ovation. Well done!!
  5. I got my desk today!! I just got 'er filled up of all my stuff and I thought I'd pop in here to see what's going on before I get started and try my new desk out. I'm super-stoked!!!
  6. Not if it's a '52. 1200 was a later engine.
  7. Super job on the whole deal. I love it!!
  8. Thanks for the info!
  9. You might want to incorporate a little of both. The melting will at least simulate the flattened sidewall spreading out. But you want to be careful and not take it too far. It can look a little funny if not done properly.
  10. Where'd you get that oval window bug? And that's what you use for clearcoat?
  11. 454? Or 455?
  12. I musta missed this one the first time around. I'm glad it came back up. That is definitely one of the most ugly cars to ever come out of Detroit but I absolutely love your build. You somehow made it look good.....REALLY good. I dig it for sure!!
  13. I'm normally not one that digs these sort of things but I have to say......that is a really good looking car. It flows well and looks like it could kick some serious Mustang butt! Well done!! I'm sure your grandson will be tickled. (If not, pm me for my address. I'll be your grandson)
  14. That's lookin' like somethin'! Nice job!
  15. I like the color also. I had a '71 Nova with a very similar shade of green on it.
  16. Nicely done. It'd be a booger to drive though.....
  17. Great looking model! Nicely done!

    New guy

That Merc is OUT OF SIGHT!! Not only one of the most beautiful Merc models I've seen, one of the most beautiful models I've seen. Period. We need a tutorial on your display base also!
  19. Nicely done!! Whatever became of that contest anyway? I never heard.
  20. Very clean! Nice job!
  21. That's a great looking truck! It looks like Mr Miyagi's truck from The Karate Kid.
  22. I dig the wheels too. There are certain wheels that just don't jive with certain cars and can seem out of place. These look great on this particular car and don't even get me started on the car itself.......
  23. It always amazes me how every once in a while, someone will show up and have their first build turn out better than my twenty-eighth!! Awesome work man! You're a natural for sure!!
