  1. Great job on that "Deuce" Dennis as you've captured the look that you wanted.
  2. When I want to use the wife's camera to shoot some models, the batteries often need charging.
  3. Three red race cars and none of them are Ferrari's.
  4. Welcome back Ian and I hope that things start to go well for you, not just modeling but things in general. Good luck!
  5. And another.
  6. Here's the other one.
  7. How about a couple more?
  8. I've never used Alclad as I haven't used my airbrushes in years. I used Spaz-Stix in the spray cans and really like the results. NO clear!
  9. Thanks Andy, In the summer of '66 there was a dragster called "The Beast from the East" and of course I took a photo of it and it inspired me to build this "Beast" even though it's not a replica. I did use an original Tommy Ivo kit and the fins and wings were scratch built out of Evergreen and Plastruct. The Dzus fasteners are a Pro-Tech item and the paint is Testors and not too shiny as I've never seen dragons have a mile-deep coat. I also made a longer push-bar, added a drain bolt in the pan, and did basic wiiring and plumbing.
  10. How about a reworked TV Tommy Ivo kit?
  11. Revell;s '69 Nova with the 427 from the Nova Yenko kit.
  12. Del, I have a couple of cans of Spaz-Stix and have tried it on both a plastic part and a resin bumper with great results. I prime the part, I use a base coat of Krylon black, and then the Spaz-Stix and it looks great. No clear! It is made to spray into clear lexan R/C bodies and then with black over it, but it works on plastic just like I have described. I hope that this helps.
  13. My dad was never a car guy and I learned how to drive on the family car which was a '60 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 four door. Dad only had to drive one week out of the month and sometimes when I left for school while mom was sleeping I would take the car to school which was only a block and a half away.
  14. Good luck to you both! Trust me, you're going to need it.
  15. Rick, this website has a lot of resin caster and aftermarket dealers and wuite useful to many builders: wwwsocalcarculture.com/modelcarlinks.html Check it out.
  16. Great job on that Chi-Town Hustler Joe and that black roll cage is on the original car, where as the red roll cage is on the clone. And the attention to detail such as the chute pulls is spot on.
  17. I have used Testors clear over House of Kolor paints in the past with good results. I also have used HOK clear and that works as well.
  18. Your "fade" paint job looks great Mike as I have done a few "fade" jobs out of spray cans and it worked out rather well.
  19. Leon Tefft had left C.A.R.S. in Miniature several years ago and as far as I know, he is not really in the hobby anymore and probably devoting all his time to his career.
  20. Great jjob on ALL of those builds Bernard, as you certainly got your moneys worth out of that Double Dragster kit!
  21. Your Mercedes came out lookin' good and that two-tone paint job really sets it off.
  22. Great photos Gerry, and thanks for posting. That '59 Bonneville convert just drives me WILD! There were more cars on Sunday as well as more model cars on display and more entries in the model car contest also. Next year will be the 40th Annual Pontiac-Oakland International Convention on July 17th thru the 21st. Mark your calendar as they are expecting cars from 40 states so far. As far as I know, C.A.R.S. in Miniature will be doing a model car contest at that event.
  23. Joe your LA Dart project is lookin' good and nice detail also.
  24. Slixx has a few different sheets of Warren Johnson decals, have you checked their website? It should be a lot cheaper than custom made decals.
