  1. Back in the fifties and early sixties, no one ran whitewalls on a "low budget" rod like this. You couldn't afford 'em! And if you did obtain a set, you ran them on the inside because ww's just weren't cool. Mom's station wagon had ww's...not your street rod... Personally, I think that rod is right on in every respect...I love it! That's the kind of stuff you saw on the street everyday.
  2. Oh man, that takes me back...I used to flat track Triumphs in my younger days...70's I love that build...gotta get me one of those..I didn't even know they existed...cool!!!
  3. Just a little FYI for all you Cobra fanatics... Hope I didn't hijack your thread, just wanted to relay a little info Good looking build...you just gotta love a cobra. 4. Looks to me like you're off to a good start...it has a good look...be sure to post as you go along, I want to see this one. I've always liked the low budget hot rods and the rat rods... How did you do the effect you have so far?
  5. I watched the sun turn my red Mustang silver....I don't go out there...skeery stuff.....
  6. Ouch!!!...my back hurts just looking at that thing. You'd have to stop 2 blocks back just to see the stop light!
  7. Nice build...that came out sweet! Don't ya just love those old v-dubs? Definately on my honey-do list.
  8. Interesting alternatives there. I never thought of using one of those nail gun compressors, good idea. When I saw hobby shop prices for theirs, I almost fell over! $2-300.00!!! Thanks guys..looks like I have to start checking Craigslist now... I've got a feeling my hobby is about to get a lot more expensive...thank God my wife loves my car addictions (well, tolerates them anyway)
  9. Ok Guys...I just found my airbrush-n-parts..(it's been playing hide and seek for about 30 years now) ...it's a Badger. I have 2. One has paint and air flow mix, the other's just air. Now, my question is, being's that I've been out of the game for so long and technology has gone crazy...: What kind of compressor do you guys use, and or recommend without spending a million bucks? I'm curious to see how you review them all and what works and what doesn't. I really appreciate all your help and comments...Thanks in advance guys......Mike...
  10. I think it's gonna look cool when it's done...can't wait t see it
  11. Oh man...don't paint it, don't paint it, don't paint it...just fade some letters and decals and call it good. That looks just like something I would have seen in High School auto shop..
  12. Interesting.....what do you have in mind for the base color?
  13. Oh man...that is one SERIOUS 4-wheeler! Here in Oregon, we see a lot of high riders like that..but THAT...THAT is unreal...I love it!!! Absolutely love those dually's!! man, that's a superb build! And everything is right on, tire size, air gaps, shocks...take it from a guy who see's these things everyday. It looks like a functional truck actually, and LEGAL..well, in the Pacific Northwest anyway...
  14. man o man...I'd love to see a video of how you did that dash... what an extrordinary build!
  15. I don't think so, The box is dated 1958 and the instructions have that ancient yellowed "patina". This just has the look of a really old kit. And for the record...I do believe I'll build it..eventually...
  16. I made some once using pipe screens from the local smoke shop. They're thin, cut easy and come in different meshes.
  17. Oh man, I wonder if I can get a VA loan to cover that?...

    1/8 AA/FA

Man-o-man...my poor little pea-brain is having such a hard time comprehending all that detail... Incredible build to say the least!
  19. And of course, you will be giving some away as a promo, right? I'll be looking for an e-mail telling me where to pick it up...
  20. The paint and patina is perfect! That's the way REAL street projects look! Toolbox is a neat touch, I like that.
  21. Really nice custom work...that's pretty sweet!
  22. Love the license tag campaign ribbon...nice touch! U.S.Army here...HHC, 24th Infantry Div. '66-'69.....Freedom isn't free...Thank a vet! Really nice build BTW!
  23. This is looking really good so far...I always loved these Willy's...you can go any of a million ways with them and they all look good. What did you have in mind for this one..street...gas..custom? You know, I can't remember the last time I saw one of these built bone stock...there's an option..
  24. Oh, now see?...That's just ALL wrong.......that car belongs in MY driveway! All kidding aside...what a sweet Stude...my favorite year...nice post, thanks
  25. Oh man would I love to have that Continental...I always thought those were beautiful cars! But you know, I don't really remember these kits back when I was really into this in the mid sixties. Course, I was only in my teens then and into hot rods, but still, I built a million models then. But too, there was a LOT of models out there to choose from during that time and you could get just about anything, so I probably just overlooked them. Great info though...thanks...Learn something everyday..
