We can banter all day about the differances in the 57 chevies,but the comment about the slant eyed chinamen was a racist slur,and as such has no place here. I was married to a Korean woman for many years and have two grown sons that are bi racial,and I find that offensive,and would appreciate it if we refrain from such comments in the future.....Please. This is wild,original thinking and great !....but please,don't go 'rat rod' although it would make a good one.............I'd like to see this all shiney and smooth................the'Z'man

HMMMmmmm.....I just had an exchange of lengthy emails with BMF about non sticking foil,and they told me two things (1) non sticking BMF is pretty much the customer's problem and (2) they haven't changed their formula for 'stickum' since the introduction of their original product years ago- and had no plans to change it in the future. This was only two weeks ago..............All they wanted to do was sell me a bottle of stronger glue to help the bmf stick....all in all,I was not too impressed with their customer relations skills;they never even REPLIED to my last email (which was polite but to the point). I will continue to purchase Bare Metal Foil products,but only until I find an equal or better substitute..........Steven Zimmerman aka the'Z'man

Well now we all know FER SHUR yer an ALIEN,'cuz the flesh colored make up is wearin offen yer skin,and yer green body color is showin threw(GRIN)......layin tape like that is hard to do. ..........and the drip rails have been 'deleted' (I forgot) ..................'Z'

The body has a 3" chop, the body has been lowered over the fenders to the running boards,the doors have been modified,the headlight buckets have been slightly shortened,and the hood has been piecut. The wheel well openings have been altered,and the rear doors narrowed;bumper bracket slots filled in and windshield tilted back just a 'lil bit. The roof has been flattened also, the stock body was actually rather bulbuous(dunno iffen I spelled thet rite er not) and I tried to slim it down- the running boards have been smoothed,as have the hood's side panels....other than that,it's a stock body (GRIN).......Steve Zimmerman aka the'Z'man.............

Irv-back in 'the day',I had a 69 SS 396 4 speed Chevelle ragtop in that color,with a white top,black interior,and a bench seat(semi-rare combo.)...your pics brought back a LOT of memories----THANKS!............the'Z'man

If you're interested,Ed Fluck casts a 64,65,and 66 2 door Chevelle wagon and RMR casts a 67.....some of these are sedan deliveries,but can have windows cut out easily.....All of the above were done on El Camino based bodies with thewagon roof grafted....Jimmy Flintstone and Holthaus also offer 65 sedan delivery Chevelles in resin based on the initial AMT Elky kits..........Steve Zimmerman aka the'Z'man

I broke my left femur and lost part of my left foot in a car accident in october '69,got my draft notice while in the hospital. no cast,but an 18" beryllium rod in my left femur,crutches for 9 months..... FYI,if the tires you have on the red rims are the other tires in the kit,they are not radials,but Goodyear tires circa mid 60's.....still a good tire for a traditional build............'Z'

I don't care if the magazine's late,or how much a subscription costs.....I subscribed for two years at Toledo,because I I've seen TOO many resin /photo etch/etc hobby related businesses go by the wayside. I remember model car science,and other magazines we all took for granted,and they have been gone LO,these many years! Is the subscription a lot of greenbacks?.....well,yes---- and no,as far as I'm concerned,its worth every penny(BANG for the buck,so to speak) If you put it in context,compare what you spend on the mag to what else you spend in a years time on this hobby; I think you'll find it's relativele inexpensive.....Hell.I spend more on SUPERGLUE a year than on Model Cars Mag........(Don't ask......Grin)----------Steven Zimmerman aka the'Z'man

Terry Kinnear new manager of Machined Aluminium Specialties,is a good Guy and an old friend. I'm sure he's doing all he can to get MAS back up and running as fast as he can.The catalog is still available on line,with new products promised in the near future.
