  1. Usually the mold is two piece;'inside' and 'outside'. The mold is flexible enought to remove the body(that's the 25 cent answer) ........'Z'
  2. I will be there, name tag would be nice!...Steve 'theZman' Zimmerman
  3. Man,I used to squat with 400 lbs and dead lift 300 lbs,and I thought I was doin good ! 'course I was 35 years old and that was 22 years ago........Now it takes that much energy just to git outta BED !!!.......Steve Zimmerman
  4. I have a gallon freezer bag full of Westley's Bleche white I keep in a sealed plastic shoe box for soaking resin in;I generally leave it in overnight then scrub down the resin with Comet and an old toothbrush.....wash with soapy water, rinse, and air dry/maybe overkill, but better then finding out that KILLER paint job of yours reacts with release agent 6 months after your build is on the shelf..... You can use epoxy, but my glue of choice is super glue and accelerator;I also use superglue to fill pinholes, applied with the sharp end of a straight pin.Remember, resin is more brittle than plastic, and 'melts' at a lower temperature. If you use spot putty, primer the resin first, those' thick primer' type putties do not feather out well on bare resin, but do much better over primer.... Make sure you TEST TEST TEST fit EVERYTHING, even the best resin may not quite be as 'accurate' coming out of the mold as the master was. This is not a slam on resin casters,j ust the nature of the resin beast. The newer resins are much more 'user friendly' than the old stuff, and tends to hold its shape better, older resin will warp at the drop of a hat. I keep all my resin (over 100 at last count) in boxes stored 'upright' on the shelf to help prevent warpage, I've had some stored like that for 15 years without any adverse effects. I've stripped resin in the purple pond with success; however some people have had differant results ,be forwarned....Resin (unlike plastic)doesn't craze when painted with lacquer. Use a mask when sanding resin if possible,it CAN harm you......Steven Zimmerman aka the'Z'man

  7. I don't like Belechek either, but they did shake hands when he went on the field the 'first' time, before they got herded off the field for the last play.....Doesn't make me like him,but had to set the record straight............Giants and Manning played one hell of a game,I think the Patriots took them too lightly......Steve 'Steeler fan'Zimmerman..............
  8. Howdy,I'm a cutter/form grinder ,been employed at Channellock, inc for the last 27 years. I've been a professional bodyman/custom painter for most of that time, also. Been building models since I was 10,My biggest 'claim to fame' is building resin masters for F&F, R&R,Mikes Miniature Motors, and Race Motor Replicas,I 've done over 50 differant car/truck masters and I 'velost count of the interiors, frames, hoods and assorted other things I've done.....I got into this mainly because I was tired of doing extensive modifications to a model, only to have it 'ghost' through a few years later. I don't consider myself that good, just a case of being in the 'right place at the right time' !! I'm also a union steward at Channellock with 20 years experience under my belt,by this time next week I'll know whether we have a contract or are on strike(no fun.) I love to build Pro street/Pro touring, customs and muscle cars/trucks,and have just recently gotten interested in STREET RODS !! My daily driver is a 2005 Scion XB,with a 73 Challenger and a 79 Malibu wagon in the garage....I've had the wagon for 21 years and the Challenger for 12. Steven Zimmerman aka the'Z'man.....

  24. Race Motor Replicas (RMR) has just finished casting a panel delivery body for this kit. It's not a 'stock' body, but rather a 'street rod' body with deleted drip rails, a chopped top and the rear doors laid forward at more of an angle than stock, with a one piece pie cut hood included;also included is an interior floor with wider rear wheel tubs for bigger rear tires. Ron will have some of these at Toledo, but I don't know how many.......Steve'theZman' Zimmerman
