1/12 MFH Ferrari 156 Sharknose
gbtr6 replied to primabaleron's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
There are no original 156 shark noses surviving. The few that are around are very nice replicas. Perry -
Just looking to see if any of you diecast guys may have a set of 1/18 scale Minilite type wheels and tires like the picture. They came on Escort RS models and maybe others. GMP may have made some. Let me know if you have a spare set. Need to replicate my 1:1 TR6. Thanks, Perry

Tony, I know what you're saying. I've done that before too. Perry

Very cool project. I assume that's your actual car. I think you have to do it exactly as the picture is, sign and decorations and all. Perry

I also saw the GM in it, and thought Holden as well. Then saw Opel. Perry

Mike, great looking model, nice paint job. Do you still have the 1:1 of it? I lived in Metarie in 64-66, and went to LaPlace a couple of times with my dad. There was a guy that lived across the street from us that used to race there. If I remember, he blew the motor and his car ended up sitting in his garage a while. I don't remember what it was. I remember he had a couple of Weimaraner's we watched for him occasionally. Excellent build. Perry

Char, yes, I did get my kit. It did take a while, but I got it. Perry -

How about the predecessor to this one? Perry

If 1/43 is your thing, there are some available. They are typically white metal and pretty decent. Perry

Thanks Robert. I agree. I know a guy that is going to do a TR4 in 1/24th, easy to do a TR250 off that. I've only seen 6's in 1/43 and 1/18. Perry

Thanks guys. I do enjoy the 1:1. That's my son driving with his fiancés boy. I've had that car since '77, and my son will inherit it. Perry

Am working on my TR6. I have 1:1 of this and want to do a replica. Got a 1/18 die cast and am changing it to look like mine. Some progress. Color is Mimosa Yellow, interior is Chestnut. Have to figure out the wheels and tires and the Union Jack by the tail lights. Perry

Little update. Got some chrome trim done on the Corvair. Getting close to starting assembly. Want to bare metal foil the trim.

I talked to someone recently that he is printing a 1/24 scale TR4, which I had, and want a kit of. He's also going to do a TR6 kit. I'm going to want that one too. Perry

Thanks Trevor. Hadn't planned on but maybe should. I have to re-make the dash in wood to convert to LHD. Looking for Minilite style wheels too. Perry

Thanks Steve. My first time doing that kind of work. It turned out pretty well. I have Fireballs door handles and can't wait to get the painted and on. Perry

Got some color on it. Will clear over the weekend. Color represents Madeira Maroon. Will have a Fawn interior. Also working on my TR6. Is a diecast, making it into my 1:1 car. Perry

Really sharp. How did you do the window net? Perry
