  1. More progress on the Corvair. Now I have to figure out how to glue it together. What do you guys use, and what technique do you use? Perry
  2. Thanks for the tips. I appreciate them. Perry
  3. I'm making a 4 door Corvair from a 2 door, and I need to add door handles, and move the front ones. Is there a source for handles, or is there a way to cast the ones on the car before I sand them off? Perry
  4. I didn't see a sedan, only a convertible. When I looked, it only went to page 12. I'll have to look again. Perry
  5. Thanks Dave. Yes, any reference is good. i think I'll have to make the back window bigger too. Perry
  6. Performed surgery. Patient looks good. The fit should be good, but the Camaro top is just a little wider. May have to cut down the center and narrow it. Need to flatten the back by the hood in back and graft in the louvered panel from the Corvair. Doesn’t fit too bad. Will keep most of the Corvair top and trim the Camaro top just ahead of the C pillars. Perry
  7. No pictures of my car, but I can google some 4 doors online though. Perry
  8. I need door handles. How do you guys do those? Perry
  9. Couple of additional pictures. Seems to line up well. Camaro roof has a slope down on the sides to the rain gutters. The Corvair top is fairly flat to the gutters. I need to save and graft the pane l under the backlight into the Camaro top. Perry
  10. I am starting to try to build my first car, a 1965 Corvair Mona 4 door. I have one of the AMT Corvair kits, and an early Camaro body. The plan is to transplant the Camaro roof on the Corvair. It looks like the roof would fit fine. I plan on cutting the Corvair behind the windshield to use the stock Corvair windshield. At the C pillar it might be harder. I need to keep the lovers on th3 rear body work on the Corvair. Time to do some measuring. Any one that’s done this, please chime in with thoughts. Thanks, Perry
  11. I don't see why not. Here's what one looks like. Lots of dental supplies help in modeling. Perry
  12. Andrew, That angle, and the bur looks familiar. Were/are you a dentist? I sell dental supplies and have those latch angle drives, the burs also. Impression material comes in handy for making molds to cast items. Perry
  13. Daily driver in summer. Top always down. If it’s bad out and for winter, the 328i. Perry
  14. I'm reviving this as I hope to build my first car, a 1965 Corvair Monza. It was a four door, got it in 74 for $75 and it was rust free, only needed a battery. Had a three speed on the floor. I enjoyed it very much, but sold it to get a 1965 Triumph TR4. What are the external differences? Anyone convert a 2 door to four? Or is there a resin body for it. Perry

  17. Scott, don't worry about it. You apologized, everyone makes a mistake or two. No one died or is bleeding. It's a hobby. Hope you come back and try another quiz, they are fun. Perry
  18. Looks a bit like a Ferrari 250 GTO short roof. http://cdn.luxuo.com/2018/06/ferrari-250-gto-2-thumb-960xauto-86451.jpg
  19. I knew it was German, but thought MB was too obvious. Perry
  20. Cool car, very nicely done. Saw a replica of Parnelli's Ford at Elkhart Lake for the Vintage. David MacNeil was there with his 250GT TdF too. Must be nice. Perry
  21. Very nice. Could be a 166 Berlinetta or 195S. Great build. Perry
  22. I see black and red wires, do the lights work? Perry
  23. I like option A. That subtle blue/gray you see now is really nice. Perry
  24. Very cool. When I heard restomod I remembered this one, It's a 300 SL, but you get the idea. Perry
  25. That’s funny. Being a teacher, you’re doing a wonderful thing. And it sounds like your kids appreciate it. Perry
