  1. I used the cigar box veneer. Just went in to the local shop and asked. Got them free. They are varying thickness from relatively thick to very thin. I'll take more pictures soon. I have the PE bedrails I need to install too. I know it's not supposed to be pretty, but I can't resist. Perry
  2. Good to hear. I'm not badmouthing him to be sure. Good to hear that some of you have had no trouble. The quality looks great. It's just that he has said it shipped, and still no kit. I agree, be honest and tell me it's still in process. Hope all is good for him, and his health. I know when I ordered in May he said 8-10 weeks. I was just following up. Looking forward to getting it. Just need to be patient yet. Perry
  3. Here are a couple of shots of the 50 Chevy Pickup I'm doing for a friend at work. I don't build fast, and I need to take a few more pictures. I am using cigar box thin wood for the bed. Would like to wire the engine, plugs, heater, radiator, nothing crazy. We'll see how it goes.
  4. Ran across this T-Bird in a book by Kirk F. White. It's online, and I'd recommend it. It's "Don't Wash Mine". It's full of great stories. This is White's Doane Spencer T-Bird. It was very fast and I like the style of it. It's a street car, but very much like the Battlebirds. My wife wants a 55-57 T-Bird and if I get a chance, I'd like to do a little hot rodding on it. I just think this is cool as hell. Perry
  5. I ordered a Mustang coupe kit from Jeff at Motor City Resin Casters and haven’t gotten it. Checked on it a couple times and promised it’s on the way. Asked for tracking, no luck no kit. It’s been since May. Getting a little frustrated. Looks like a nice kit, and I want it to build for my son. Perry
  6. I got the Detail Master Mahogany bed it. Anyone use it and have any tips for install? As a side note, I went to the local smoke shop and they gave me some small pieces of fine thickness veneers for free. Could be good for woodies and such too. Thanks, Perry
  7. Thank you, those would work. Perry
  8. Outside laced Boranis would be correct for most racing Ferraris of the 60's. Love to have some for the GTO, Testa Rossa, etc. Perry
  9. Thanks, these were on my sons -67 Mustang coupe and I am going to build a model of it for him. His first car. It has Drag Mags on it now. Wish I could find those. Perry
  10. Anyone know of a wheel like this, either from a kit of resin? Thanks, Perry
  11. Completed a great trade with Dale Gribble. Thanks, Perry (Gbtr6)
  12. Had a great trade with casey 429. Thanks Casey. Perry (gbtr6)
  13. While I wasn't able to complete my trade, it was my fault, I wanted to say DragMonster is an upstanding guy that goes the extra mile. I sent tires that were not the right size. He not only sent them back, but sent me the postage cost back. I only hope I can help him in the future.
  14. Dan, Have you got any of the drivetrain yet? Or suspension? I have this if it would help:
  15. Really like the rust and patina detail. Did you use the salt trick? What method did you use if not that. Perry
  16. Thanks guys. Hope to have it finished soon and looking good. Perry
  17. Am working on this AMT 77 Corvette for a friend. I received the hood from mustang1989 here on this forum. And a set of wheels from GMCMAN52. They have helped me greatly. It am using can paint and a can lacquer clear. I don't get to build much or often so I don't have the skill of most of you here. I'm going to add seat belts, but basically stock. Having some issues with the exhaust, but will figure it out. Thanks for looking. Perry
  18. Primarily the emblems, Flags, Corvette on back, door handles. I thought a later set might work. Perry
  19. Building a 77 Corvette for a co-worker, and I'd like to use photo etch for it. Anyone make a set for it? Or, is there something close I could use? Thanks, Perry
  20. Go to F1m site. They would have the answers. A lot of older F1 cars ended up tossed. There are a number of them from the 60's-70's that show up at vintage events, like at Elkhart Lake in Wisconsin. Perry
  21. Here are a couple of my favorites. The helicopter was for my son in law, a Marine who flies Super Stallions. They are dirty birds. My first attempt at a helicopter, and with weathering. It has his markings also. I build mostly foreign cars, 1/43 to 1/12. The Ferrari is a 195 or 212, I forget I just like the color combo the 312B is the Tamiya kit Perry
  22. Thanks for the replies. I like Ferraris, road and race, Most Formula 1. I have a few kits for sale or trade. I'm looking for an Italeri Ferrari 250 SWB. Also, any 1/43. Anyone have any for sale or trade? Perry
  23. Anyone out there into 1/43 scale resin kits? I collect and build mainly 1/43 scale. I also have many race kits, 1/12, 1/24, 1/25. Like Ferrari, Formula 1, Le Mans subjects. Anyone else? Perry
