  1. UPDATE! I received my 67 Mustang Coupe from Jeff. It looks fantastic. I apologize for jumping on you Jeff. I hope whatever issues you face resolve quickly. I recommend Jeff, his quality is great. Just be patient. I hope to get some more from him. Take care Jeff. Thanks, Perry
  2. I agree they are small. I do 1/43 stuff too, and even the big parts are small. A magnifying visor, and toothpicks help. If you set the PE fret on masking tape, painters tape, then cut the parts, they don't fly. Just take an Xacto knife under the part and slowly pick up. Having a PE folding tool is great too. Perry
  3. Looks great, turned out well. I have a couple of these, the Ebbro version and the 1/12 version. I want to day a Rob Walker livery on one of these. One day. Perry
  4. Thanks for the tip. Didn't mean to crash this post... Carry on. Perry
  5. Another update. I will have to try some more charcoal on the seat. It seemed to tone it down some, but not enough. Have it up on 4 wheels now, I weathered the bed rails a little. I like the PE set for this, except the nose of the hood. Not quite right, but OK. Perry
  6. Sharp, like the two tone. Perry
  7. It effectively lengthens the body and keeps the air on it longer and smooths it out. With the square boxy bodies, the air breaks up and creates turbulence, and drag. Same idea as diffusers for the underside on a lot of cars today. Perry
  8. Very cool. I am building one stock. I wanted to know how to take the sheen off the seat, and give it a little worn look, more like leather. I am going to try a little artists charcoal and my finger to see how that works.
  9. What's the cost on that? Perry
  10. I wonder if you could do a Mercury Marauder from that kit. Those are cool. Perry
  11. Cool. Like the subject, nice scratchbuilding. Surprised no one said... Book 'em Dano! Perry
  12. Little update, not much progress. Looking for something to take a bit of the shine off the seat and make it look more like leather, a little used. I also put a back on it since it folds down. I purchased some gauge decals from vendor bestmodelcarparts on Ebay. I think they are waterslide, but I can't get them off the backer. I gave a wash to the engine, and highlighted the springs a bit. Need to do some touch up also. Used some PE on the interior, need to paint the peddles. Painting the body has been a challenge. I put a couple nice coats on, and try to clear and it wrinkles in spots. May not be waiting long enough. I'll try to polish what I have. Perry
  13. Jeff, Thanks for the email and posting. Looking forward to getting the Mustang. Sorry to hear it's been a bad year for you, hope you recover quickly. By the sounds of it, because you do quality work, there's more people that want your products. Take care, Perry
  14. I emailed again last week, no response now. I wish he'd just tell me if he's behind. If any of you know him, please ask him to be a bit more responsive. I'm not in a rush, but want to know I'm not forgotten. Thanks, Perry
  15. Here in Titletown we like the tundra frozen. Go Pack! Perry
  16. Thanks Tom. I appreciate the offer. I do have the kit decals, and also a set of aftermarket ones I can use. I will put some Future over them once in place. Thanks too for all the kind words. I am slow, but hopefully will have more done soon. Want to put a back on the folding seat back. If that makes any sense. Perry
  17. Couple more pictures. I mocked up the bed, will be adding the steel PE strips on the wood. I have PE and decals for the dash, need to clean up some of the paint. Going to try to add heater hoses to the firewall.
  18. I used the cigar box veneer. Just went in to the local shop and asked. Got them free. They are varying thickness from relatively thick to very thin. I'll take more pictures soon. I have the PE bedrails I need to install too. I know it's not supposed to be pretty, but I can't resist. Perry
  19. Good to hear. I'm not badmouthing him to be sure. Good to hear that some of you have had no trouble. The quality looks great. It's just that he has said it shipped, and still no kit. I agree, be honest and tell me it's still in process. Hope all is good for him, and his health. I know when I ordered in May he said 8-10 weeks. I was just following up. Looking forward to getting it. Just need to be patient yet. Perry
  20. Here are a couple of shots of the 50 Chevy Pickup I'm doing for a friend at work. I don't build fast, and I need to take a few more pictures. I am using cigar box thin wood for the bed. Would like to wire the engine, plugs, heater, radiator, nothing crazy. We'll see how it goes.
  21. Ran across this T-Bird in a book by Kirk F. White. It's online, and I'd recommend it. It's "Don't Wash Mine". It's full of great stories. This is White's Doane Spencer T-Bird. It was very fast and I like the style of it. It's a street car, but very much like the Battlebirds. My wife wants a 55-57 T-Bird and if I get a chance, I'd like to do a little hot rodding on it. I just think this is cool as hell. Perry
  22. I ordered a Mustang coupe kit from Jeff at Motor City Resin Casters and haven’t gotten it. Checked on it a couple times and promised it’s on the way. Asked for tracking, no luck no kit. It’s been since May. Getting a little frustrated. Looks like a nice kit, and I want it to build for my son. Perry
  23. I got the Detail Master Mahogany bed it. Anyone use it and have any tips for install? As a side note, I went to the local smoke shop and they gave me some small pieces of fine thickness veneers for free. Could be good for woodies and such too. Thanks, Perry
  24. Thank you, those would work. Perry
  25. Outside laced Boranis would be correct for most racing Ferraris of the 60's. Love to have some for the GTO, Testa Rossa, etc. Perry
