  1. Are you burnishing it down? This was done with Tamiya masking tape, trimmed with an X-Acto knife, painted with Tamiya spray can lacquers.
  2. One of the magazines had a build article on a “ZR-32” way back in the early ‘90s. It was an AMT 1932 Chevy roadster with the LT-5, rectangular headlights, and scratch built seats with cushioning made from half round styrene. It was painted purple. That’s about all I remember. It may have been a model of a real car, but I could be wrong about that.
  3. I was thinking of the bags for vacuum sealing food.
  4. Yes, but it wasn’t that way when it arrived. The photo after joining the two cabs shows two low spots in either side of the join. It was sanded with a stiff board. Is it my modifications or something else???
  5. I’m at work, so I can’t post a pic of it as is. This photo is a few days ago. Maybe a week. You can see a couple of low spots on either side of the join. The back section had a crack when it arrived. I didn’t want to wait for another cab, so I just went over the crack with super glue. This truck started out as two Crew Cabs. I cut them both and made a six door cab. The back end of the roof is sagging down. There is sheet styrene reinforcement lengthwise for the doors, and sheet styrene on the bottom of the roof. Cyanoacrylate (Super glue) was used for the joints. It’s my first 3D printed kit, so I don’t want to wildly speculate.
  6. It’s been several years since I bought any. I took down my model workbench when my two brothers needed a place to stay and save money. Anyway- I have a couple of projects underway so I went to local store to order some Evercoat Eurosoft putty. It was $105 for a 20oz can. I do like to buy local, but in this case I got online and found the prices all over the place. Summit Racing has it for $79.99. Other places have it for a few dollars less, but it’s places I have never heard of. I think that I should only open it when I have several projects that need it, then seal the can in a Seal-a-Meal bag.
  7. Pro Street Monogram 1971 Barracuda. From around 1990. It was inspired by a Steve Stanford sketch. That sketch only appeared on a Car Craft subscription card from 1986 or so. It was stolen after that. Like others in this thread, I was a bit too ambitious. The chassis was from the Matt and Debbie Hay pro street Thunderbird, stretched a little. I made filler strips to make the tubs conform to the body. Rear wheel openings were enlarged. I should dig it out and give it another go.
  8. It arrived today, and I started cutting it up immediately. A long way to go, but I think you get the idea.
  9. I’m getting a 3D printed Chevy square body. I want it to be a mild custom; cool paint job and slightly lowered. Does anyone still make machined aluminum wheels for models?
  10. Thanks. That would be a cool model.
  11. Is the Revell 1950 Oldsmobile engine close enough? I mean the block and heads. It will need new valve covers, exhaust, and intake.
  12. Just these three pics, for now anyway. This build was started in the 1970s. It got very close to being finished, then it went into storage, where it sat for 45 years. A friend of a friend in Australia bought it and is finishing it up. He contacted be to help find an oil pan for the 1954-1956 Oldsmobile 324 engine. The pulleys with multiple V-belts are a nice touch. I think it’s a pretty cool car and I would like to build a model of it. I’ll ask for more photos.
  13. OH. I didn’t know that the old Chevy Square Body is available. I remember these custom crew cab duallies when I was in high school. I thought they were just the coolest. What would the cab look like for a six door version?
  14. I’m glad the seller didn’t see that. I got it for a lot less. It wasn’t a case of a car guy with an oddball resin kit. He sold that kind of thing and knew the market.
  15. F-101 and F-111 are just cool airplanes. The Clerget rotary engine will be part of my engine collection. The BMW is for a kit bash that was someone else’s idea from here; BMW hood and grill on the Mercedes-Benz 170V delivery vehicle. It will be a BMW sedan delivery street rod. McLaren M23 James Hunt car from 1976. Two anime kits for my brother. The resin kit is a steampunk submarine that is shaped like a fish. I’m posting a pic of someone else’s completed build. It was a fun way to spend the day.
  16. I’m impressed. Do you have the older F-350 (2006)? Also long bed dually? I would want 1/24. Thank you
  17. So…are you a fan of Duesenbergs??? ?
  18. I would like to see a six-door, dually, long bed pickup. I am completely serious.
  19. A Nailhead? Another great engine for an old school rod or custom. Nice.
