  1. I thought I saw one online not long ago. IIRC it had a roots blower on either side of a plenum/manifold. I would guess a central drive with belts or chains spinning the blowers. It is entirely possible that my memory is faulty. Either way, there’s no reason it couldn’t be done on a model.
  2. Ice work. I love to see that kind of modeling. Please show your other planes. I’m sure they are just as fascinating.
  3. Now I need a 1/10 scale Black Lab for the sidecar.
  4. I’ve been hoping for a 1/16 Leopard 2 for a while. I was an M1A1 tanker stationed in Germany. I got to climb around a Leo 2 (don’t remember which variant) in the late 1990s. Such a cool tank. Up until now, the other options in 1/16 were a cheap rc tank that lacked detail and a Tamiya rc that was also sold as a display only model. The Tamiya kit has better detail, but rare as hen’s teeth, and expensive when it could be found. This new kit has an MSRP of US $199.99, with a pre-order price of US $179.99. The Tamiya kit can easily cost three times as much, so I’m pretty excited about this. Check out Andy’s video. This model is HUGE. Being a tanker was such a cool job. I always worked at getting better, and I was good. Having said that, I am glad that I never fired a shot in anger. Fast forward to 18:48 for the 1/16 Nashorn and Hummel.
  5. A 3D printed Cadillac OHV (331/365/390) V8 in 1/8 scale. Add optional intake manifolds and blower.
  6. Found one at a decent price. Now if only I could find a 1/10 scale Black Lab for a passenger 👍🏻
  7. I think it would vary, depending on how much liquid cement. I think it will be safe to sand tomorrow night, but I still need to add filler pieces at both bottom corners. All of the glue joints are also Tamiya Extra Thin liquid cement.
  8. I just mixed Tamiya putty with Tamiya Extra Thin cement and brushed it on the cut lines of a Revell ‘26 Ford Tudor Sedan that’s getting chopped up. Not sure I would have thought of this application without your thread.
  9. I saw a documentary about crows. In Japan, their nests were interfering with electrical lines. The utility companies started removing nests. In response, crows began building dummy nests; nests they didn’t use. That’s a pretty smart animal.
  10. That’s really cool. It looks like it could be from Star Trek.
  11. I love that photo. I’ve made several memes with and used it without captions. I’m a plumber and did some work at my sister’s house. She texted me and said the toilet is leaking from the tank. I didn’t remember everything I worked on there. Did I work on that? No.
  12. I opened this thinking you wanted to know how to model a fast car that looks like something granny drive to church on Sundays.
  13. A friend got himself a 1971 Chevelle for his 50th birthday. He would like a large scale model, 1/16 or bigger. Does anyone make one of these? Was it ever done in injection molded styrene? Thanks, Lee
  14. Martin Kovac, A.K.A. Uncle Night Shift, mixes solvent glue and Tamiya putty all the time for adding cast steel texture to model tanks. I see no reason that it couldn’t be sanded smooth. It’s Tamiya putty thinned down.
  15. Austin , Texas area checking in. I got the day off because it’s cold. No snow or rain was predicted, but there is snow on the ground. I looked outside a little while ago (6am) without my glasses. Saw white and shut the door. I’m going to spend the day cooking. I’ll bake a bunch of biscotti using a modified America’s Test Kitchen recipe and later make a big pot of New England Clam Chowder using Robert Irvine’s recipe. For now, I’m going back to sleep 👍🏻
  16. I never knew about these until today. It would be pretty cool for a hot rod or drag car.
  17. Thank you for the information. I’ll have to look for that Lindberg kit.
  18. Would prefer unbuilt & complete, glue bomb is ok. Want it mainly for the engine. Thanks. Lee

  20. IMHO, social media is pretty much a wasteland, but Facebook seems determined to reach the bottom before anyone else. I’m all for freedom of speech. If someone wants to waste free bandwidth, more power to them. But there is no need to put their garbage in everyone’s feed. I was in lots of special interest groups, but the nonstop stream of garbage outweighed the good things. It will free up time for building models. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.
  21. Ok…the sidewalk. I believe this is available in 1/35. It needs a Hayabusa engine.
