  1. It could also be inspiration for other shipping container conversions. I’ve driven by that thing many times. I never noticed it was a trailer until I stopped for lunch last week.
  2. The seller told me about a young guy who wanted to turn it into a “sleeper” (he couldn’t remember the word). He wouldn’t sell it to that guy. I shook my head and said “kids today”. I didn’t tell him that this 51 year old will turn it into a sleeper.
  3. I had one when I was a soldier stationed in Germany. It was a good little car. It had a 2.3L four cylinder and manual transmission. I could drive it a couple of hours at a time at 125mph on the Autobahn. I recently stumbled across a video of one with a Chevy LS. That was interesting. Research showed that an LS swap requires fabrication beyond my skill level, but a Mercedes V-8 can drop in with off-the-shelf parts. A stand-alone ecu is a good idea. Used Mercedes M-113 engines are not very expensive, so I plan to do that swap. Here is the car. It will be dropped off at my house next Friday. I did go look at it and drive it. It’s not in showroom condition, but it’s a 34 year old project car. I like the style of street rods and street machines, but I have to confess, I like pretty much everything else about more modern cars. Plus, I think this is a nice looking car.
  4. I want to build a 190E with M113 engine swap. AMG supercharged would be really cool.
  5. This is where I got lunch today. I’ve driven by it a hundred times, but never stopped until today. I was surprised to see that gooseneck.
  6. I meant for turbochargers making more horsepower than the factory supercharger. Edited the thread title.
  7. Let’s say it’s a factory supercharger. Could a budget semi-custom manifold be made removing the rotors, with a block off plate for the throttle body and an inlet to replace the snout? Thanks. Cheapskate in Chillicothe
  8. I got an old book called “ Rolling Homes” that has home made RVs. Several started as 1948 International big rigs or lwb trucks. Does anybody make a resin cab? Are there any 1/16 resin cabs from that era? thanks. Lee
  9. A White 3000 bus? Wow, that is cool. Good job on it , too. ??
  10. I think this search might be more trouble than it’s worth. The guy at MCW said I would need to get info on the color. That makes perfect sense, but it would be a lot less trouble to mix something myself and shoot for a match with the box art.
  11. I didn’t see Kenwood blue at MCW. It’s not a color for something for something wildly popular like a factory 1969 Camaro color, but I saw another seller with two shades of blue for a 1930s Bugatti “tank” race car. I’ll have to keep looking. If no one sells a good match, it’s not the end of the world. It means no one can say mine is inaccurate. Pretty much.
  12. Was anyone doing it back in the 1960s? Maybe folks like Michele Conti? Was the metal grille in Tamiya’s old 1/24 Lotus Seven made of photetch, or made a different way? I remember being really impressed with that as a teenager back around 1984 or so. To be fair, information traveled a lot slower then. We didn’t have all the answers at our fingertips. Thanks. Lee
  13. I would like to be more accurate than Tamiya’s recommendation in the instructions. Thanks. Lee
  14. If advance payment would help make it happen, let me know. I would REALLY like to have several of these. Thanks. Lee
  15. P-51 Mustang. At speed
  16. I had that made into a solid 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of decal years ago. I’ll have to see if I can find it. I’m not 100% sure it is accurate for an original Royale. I believe that pattern is from a replica that is or was in the Sinsheim Auto+Technic museum in Germany. I could be wrong on that.
