Does anyone make a large scale 3D printed 1971 Chevelle?
LDO replied to LDO's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
My friend is looking for large scale. -
I love that photo. I’ve made several memes with and used it without captions. I’m a plumber and did some work at my sister’s house. She texted me and said the toilet is leaking from the tank. I didn’t remember everything I worked on there. Did I work on that? No.

I opened this thinking you wanted to know how to model a fast car that looks like something granny drive to church on Sundays. -
Styrene solvent glue and Tamiya putty
LDO replied to BK9300's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Martin Kovac, A.K.A. Uncle Night Shift, mixes solvent glue and Tamiya putty all the time for adding cast steel texture to model tanks. I see no reason that it couldn’t be sanded smooth. It’s Tamiya putty thinned down. -
Austin , Texas area checking in. I got the day off because it’s cold. No snow or rain was predicted, but there is snow on the ground. I looked outside a little while ago (6am) without my glasses. Saw white and shut the door. I’m going to spend the day cooking. I’ll bake a bunch of biscotti using a modified America’s Test Kitchen recipe and later make a big pot of New England Clam Chowder using Robert Irvine’s recipe. For now, I’m going back to sleep 👍🏻

Thank you for the information. I’ll have to look for that Lindberg kit. -
Would prefer unbuilt & complete, glue bomb is ok. Want it mainly for the engine. Thanks. Lee

IMHO, social media is pretty much a wasteland, but Facebook seems determined to reach the bottom before anyone else. I’m all for freedom of speech. If someone wants to waste free bandwidth, more power to them. But there is no need to put their garbage in everyone’s feed. I was in lots of special interest groups, but the nonstop stream of garbage outweighed the good things. It will free up time for building models. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

What did you see on the road today?

I’m not a fan of unboxing, at least with models. The parts may look good, but we don’t know how well…or badly…they fit together.

It’s cool to see a dog’s reaction to seeing snow for the first time. Lady (my Black Lab) was fascinated.

Internet picture, but I got one off eBay last night. Oddball scale, but what a cool bike. I saw one years ago, I believe it was in a German magazine called Streetfighters. It was a custom , long and low, with a Ducati single sided swingarm and the fuel tank was two cylindrical tubes with an angled cut in each end and convex ends. I believe those were purple. I wish I could see that bike again.

I never knew this existed until I saw one at a model contest swap meet…without the sidecar. I bought the bike. If someone can part with the sidecar and related parts, that would also work. Second pic is what I bought. Thanks, Lee

What non-auto model did you get today?

A couple more German WWII planes. Both made by Trimaster in the late ‘80s. A Ta-152H-1; a high altitude version of the V-12 engine FW-190D. It had a longer fuselage and longer wings, among other changes. Also an FW-190A with radial engine. The box art is really good, but the Wine Red nose is incorrect. It was a misinterpretation of a black & white photo, so interesting in that way, but also these kits were really detailed. Sort of ahead of their time. Photoetched parts were included. Some had cast metal parts like landing gear. The company went out of business and some kits were reissued by DML/Dragon. The Ta-152 was also reissued by Italeri. All reissues eliminated the metal parts. I have heard that the Revell TA-154 “Moskito” was from Trimaster molds. Not 100% sure on that. Internet photos. -

I thought this ancient Greek battleship was cool, too. It’s an injection molded kit. I may look for one of these some day. -

“An act of mercy” WWI diorama of a French soldier rescuing a German soldier from quicksand in a shell crater. I heard about this on a podcast. It’s based on a photo of a real situation like this. -

1/8 scale Big T with modifications. The blower is from a parts pack. Does anyone know if was front mount in the parts pack, or was it modified for this application?
