  1. This is a bummer. I bought an old motorcycle magazine from a seller in Japan. It sat in Japan for about 15 days, now it will arrive with a tariff charge. I ordered a paper model from Germany about two months ago. Due to a glitch from their supplier, it hasn’t shipped yet. Germany is not shipping to the United States. I’m waiting for replacement parts for a model from Slovenia. Also not shipping to the United States.
  2. I don’t know about YouTube, but Facebook pays posters to be stupid…essentially. People get paid for clicks and comments, so many posters will get information wrong, just for the posts correcting them. It’s maddening, and it’s turning social media into a cesspool. Facebook groups can be a cool thing, but I can imagine a day when they will not outweigh the garbage. Also- anyone who uses AI to narrate a video is a lazy waste of oxygen.
  3. Oh yeah- commission a model company to make a 1/8 scale Duesenberg Model J in styrene. Make several bodies for it; Mudd Coupe, Judkins Coupe, Murphy Town Car. Maybe more.
  4. Buy a lot of land. Build a super efficient house. Build a Hobbit house for my brother (he would love that). Build a greenhouse the size of a football field. The middle would have a sunken area with a Koi pond and waterfall, surrounded by fruit trees. Not just a place to grow veggies and fruit; a place to get away from the real world and just relax. Some cool cars, too. Live the rest of my days in my little slice of paradise.
  5. It’s kind of a bummer that there are no decals at all. Such a cool car, and from Tamiya, no less.
  6. I had never heard of this company. I checked out their site and they offer a white/grey scatter decal, along with the Sunset pattern. I wonder if they will ship. I’m on a few modeling groups at Facebook and there are lots of posts about companies in Europe that will not ship to USA because of tariffs.
  7. I just got the old Tamiya Lorinser Mercedes-Benz 500SEC. The box art shows seats with brown scattering upholstery, but it’s not in the kit. I would love to have decals for this, in several color schemes. Can anyone here make this?
  8. I wish I could find a 3D printed Honda CBX engine in 1/6 scale. I saw a custom built around that engine with a 916 single sided swingarm. It was a pretty wild street fighter.
  9. New Ray 1/6 Ducati 998. Normally very expensive, this is not quite perfect and I picked it up for a song. Sounds ideal for parts to add on to street fighter powered by GS1100 engine.
  10. Build it. Look- in five billion years, the sun will go supernova and destroy the earth. Everything we have ever done on this planet will be erased. No one will get to see your MISB Pinto funny car. Just build it.
  11. If I had them I would. I’ve given up on the idea of the Mercedes-Benz M119 V-8. It’s an awesome engine but zero aftermarket support. Only one transmission fits. There is an aftermarket controller that has bugs. I think a Lincoln Mk VIII engine with a 6R80 would be easier (a little easier, anyway). I work in construction plumbing. Construction has slowed down. 👎🏻
  12. I wonder how difficult it would be to swap into a Mercedes-Benz 190E?
  13. Those twin-engine dragsters are awesome.
  14. Why not use a newer, more detailed flathead?
  15. They arrived yesterday. They are indeed big gems. This is the panhead with a few parts dry fit. I also got transmissions for both engines…but I don’t know how they attach. I haven’t seen a clear photo of the two together. This guy is a wizard with his 3D prints. I can post more photos if anyone wants to see them.
  16. An Englishman being forced to watch while an American inline-six is swapped into a Jaguar E-type.
  17. Use the Express Mail box. Undo the glue seam, turn the box inside out, and tape it back together. I have done that and received packages like that.
  18. That’s pretty wild. The car he built and the aftermarket tires. I love reading about things like this.
  19. It doesn’t look like it has any heat damage. I just wonder if it’s due to 27 years in that little plastic bag.
  20. I got a kit off eBay. The tires and seat are in a sealed plastic bag and it looks like it has some thin oil inside. Are these parts going to dissolve the styrene that they contact? If so, does anyone make replacement parts?

    CHEVY VAN GLASS

Has that been reissued? I think I have some Chevy Van parts in the stash. I would have check later tonight.
  23. There are plenty on eBay, too. Hard to beat this price. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=1%2F24+tractor&_trksid=p4624852.m4084.l2632&_sacat=1188
  24. I did not remember the lack of a decal sheet. Looking at the box art, I thought there would be one for the seats. Sounds like a challenge.
  25. A Tamiya Mercedes-Benz 500 SEC Lorinser. That was a tuning firm that did mostly cosmetic and interior upgrades. It was only issued once, in 1982. I had one back around 1984 or so, when it could still be found in a hobby shop. I found a good deal on eBay and couldn’t resist.
