  1. For ideas on what was available, check out the 1959 Professional Cars page on Yann Saunders' Cadillac Database. It is the most awesome car website EVER. http://www.car-nection.com/yann/Dbas_txt/prof59.htm
  2. Skip- If you were in the same town, I'd buy you a beer for that OP.
  3. Which casket are you talking about? I may have a Jo-Han casket.
  4. And THIS bad boy! It will be 1/144. The real thing has a wing span of 141ft, so the model will be very close to 1ft span. Pretty cool.
  5. This is what they're talking about.
  6. Photos of the model parts or real engines? I have 3 of the real engines in my garage. One short block, one bare block on a stand, and one assembled long block and a C6 trans (accessories removed/carburetor manifold)
  7. Another site is having a contest for Land Speed Racers. My entry is a lakester, a.k.a. belly tanker. Frame is scratchbuilt, and really just there to hold the 4 wheels. The only visible part is the cockpit. Front suspension and rear axle are from Revell's '47 Ford convertible. Belly tank body was made on a home made tiny vacuum former. The master was intended to be a P-38 tank, but the profile was wrong. I used the front half of that, a scratchbuilt straight cylinder extension, and the tail end of a 1/18 scale V-1 "Buzz Bomb" to make a generic tank master. "Blue collar" vacuum former and tank halves, showing the extreme redneck frame to hold the plastic sheet. Hey- it worked and it was made from stuff lying around the house. Vacuum former is made from parts bought at Radio Shack; a project box topped with perf board. I used plumbing parts to connect it to my shop vac hose.
  8. Will the Pro Mod body be offered in pieces? If so, will it cost less than the other bodies that TDR offer? I love that Aston Martin, but I just can't spend that kind of money on a model.
  9. Pretty much.
  10. Which degreaser? I looked at Sam's website but didn't see any $3 black jug of degreaser. Model is in the freezer now.
  11. I just got a cool builtup for a song, but I'd like to take it apart without breaking it.
  12. Eh. Seven minutes or less. Not bad.
  13. Just 3 more and you'll hit 7,500
  14. Maybe I need to take reading lessons. When Art said "During WWII...", I thought he meant during the war. Jesus Christ, man. Try decaf.
  15. In John Carpenter's "The Thing", there's a scene with with some old Revell model boxes on a shelf in the background.
  16. Yeah, Jesse seems to like a weird riding position for his own bikes.
  17. I took the plunge. I ordered a pair of turbos for a motorcycle project. I got left and right handed. The site says they are not technically correct, but the June 2009 Hot Rod magazine had a cover photo of an engine with mirror-image turbos. It's correct enough for me.
  18. I also have spares if you need any.
  19. I was really surprised when my 64 year old mom told me she voted Her vote was for Jesse James, BTW.
  20. Yeah I'm not wild about all the profanity and I don't really care about his personal life either. The man can build nice bikes, though. I love that curved down tube with holes through it. A much better style element than exhaust stacks in a fuel tank.
  21. Yeah, I know. It's like a soap opera gone haywire, but I do like the old buildoff shows. My vote goes to Jesse James. Like he said- he built a bike that could be ridden. Paul Jr's bike looks wildly impractical; more like an art piece that sits on a shelf. I also think that theme bikes are just silly. Paul Sr's "vehicle" is even more impractical.
  22. Yeah. This board at Aircraft Resource Center http://s362974870.onlinehome.us/forums/air/index.php?showforum=202
  23. Yeah I think Moebius is doing great things for the hobby, but I have no interest in a Lone Star big rig or a Hudson Hornet. The upcoming Chrysler 300, on the other hand...I'll get several of those.
  24. Yeah. That looks nice. Where did you get it?
