  1. my inside industry resource, aka "the Mole" assures me it's a skid plate for the 'Offroad Jalopy' version ....
  2. some "from the internet" pictures here: http://public.fotki.com/1802/model_cars/model-car-contest-p/milwaukee-nnl-2015/p1010173.html
  3. this looks like it's going to be a worthwhile kit. thanks for posting those pictures, Jim K.
  4. so ..... he was going to take down a UFO with his shootin' iron?
  5. the true value is the knowledge and experience you're gaining by building. i understand it's nice to have something tangible to show for it. sounds like you're taking on a great deal of responsibility and appreciate the meaning of money. and have things in perspective. good for you!
  6. i think that's the true value of any hobby.
  7. well ... we think Tom's being mean too. happy now?
  8. Percy Sledge died. such a good spirit lost. http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/percy-sledge-dies-73/story?id=30307601
  9. not trying to be a Negative-Nellie, but your time is worth more to you than a buyer. i think if you get your kit cost back you're ahead of the curve.
  10. as with everything, there's a Buyer's Price and a Seller's Price. value comes in a variety of forms.
  11. that sort of undermines the whole thread. if you have convictions, stick with them and articulate your thoughts. this sometimes means breaking them down to the lowest common denominator so everyone in the audience clearly understands your point of view. they may also offer differing opinions. you were probably aware when you signed on.
  12. it wasn't until i built one of these that i realized (through research) how different a Model T is from a "regular" car. bet driving a '32 was pure luxury by comparison.
  13. we also need a "like" button.
  14. after initially balking at the vendors doing this at a few shows attended, i realized it's not much different than the cottage industries. buyer has the choice to or not.
  15. i'll give you $180.00
  16. i've had just the opposite results, but maybe didn't get the right set o' picks. best i've used is the back edge of a #11 xacto blade for straight, and for curves the round / double ended tool shown here. the ends can be replaced as well as sharpened to different profiles. use dymo-label tape for curved plane surfaces.
  17. catching up on some infrequently visited websites: http://deadlycurves.blogspot.com/ http://deadlycurves.blogspot.com/2014/10/20-top-hot-rod-dashes-from-1961-rodding.html
  18. another possibility is that Trash Vigilante succeeds making the first 9 offenders see the err of their ways. number 10 breaks the pattern and manages to fit the GoPro in a place that heretofore medical science thought impossible to fit.
  19. nice start & good looking car you're using for inspiration. what will hold up the front end, though? i'm easily confused.
  20. hah! make sure your health insurance premiums are paid up. sounds like a good way to get a fat lip.
  21. does anyone know if the tent, pram, & sink are included in the woody version?
