Like the cross over of styles. And you still got those mad skillz coming up with unique builds. Well done.

Dreaded Orange Peel
Cool Hand replied to TransAmMike's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The 62 Bel-Air pictured, does not have a clear coat its just polished Tamiya TS-14 Black. When I do use clear this is what I use. Thinned 1:1.5 with Mr Color levelling thinner and shot through a Iwata HP-TH .5 fan cap at 35psi This is straight from the airbrush finish, has very fine orange peel that is easily wet sand and polished out. Below the right side just after wet sanding with 6000, 8000, 10000 God Hand Kami-Yasu sanding sponge. Also use 6000, 8000 Mr Laplos polishing cloth. -

Another JDM build im currently working on that is inspired by a well known TV series car. Nothing serious and not concerned about scale accuracy, just a fun build that all about the visual. Again a modified 77 Nissan Skyline C210.

Cheers mate. Dont know if I call it a pro street, inspiration is from Fast and Furious Dom's Charger and Aussie burnout cars. So I probably say its a JDM burnout car. 77 Nissan Skyline C210.

Yeah been available in Australia at various online retailers for a couple weeks, but I waited for BNA Model World to have them in stock. Its a high quality and detailed kit for sure, really looking forward to building them.

Ive purchased from them multiple times. Very reliable with excellent customer relations. -
Completed this awhile ago, just never got around to posting it here. What an excellent kit, thoroughly enjoyed building it, assembly was straight forward with no issue's. Not really into Gassers. But I really like how this build turned out, especially the SMS paint. Thanks to Tim Boyd for his preview and review of this kit as thats what convinced me to invest in a couple kits. Pretty much oob, I just lowered the stance, added plug wires. Wip pics can be found here

Not factory correct. But I recommend this, thin with MLT 1:1.5 and if applied correctly it will not need a clear coat.

Is it a solid colour or pearl, metallic ??

X2 Been using Imgur for 6 years, uploaded 3000 images. Never had any real problems, they sort issue's out with the site reasonably quick. I find it a very reliable site for storing and hosting pics for free.

Its a great reference for all the different brands and colors, but it is misleading to think you will get results like he does on the spoons compared to actual model parts. The surface of the spoons are almost all a high gloss polished surface, so you can hose on any paint and once it settles and shrinks it will be very smooth and gloss due to the surface. Kit plastic is also different from what the spoon is made of. Also tests are done on spoons with high gloss black surface, again makes results look great. But again is misleading. Personally id rather see the tests done on actual model parts or car bodies that are prepared and primed. Because the results will be different. Anyone can hose paint on a slick spoon with any brand and have it look great. Not knocking the guy as he does a good service and is of interest and helpful to the modelling community. Just saying results will vary.

Shout-out for Zoom Model: Great products, great prices
Cool Hand replied to peteski's topic in Links to Aftermarket Suppliers
Will be good to see where you put some these products to use. You can get Zoom On parts in the U.S from Scale Riders, pretty sure he could order specific products that he doesnt have in stock.- 7 replies

Cool Hand replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Good to see you doing a build thread Steve, whilst the subject matter does not interest me I can appreciate the time and effort that goes into your builds. Also I think many people are thankful for the knowledge and skill you share through documenting wip process.
