  1. Sorry Jason no updates, thanks for the interest. Still on the bench. Should make it back into rotation after I finish up another build first.
  2. Excellent tutorial, thanks for taking the time share the process.
  3. Stance looks spot on mate. That 1500 black surfacer sure does lay down super smooth. Whats the plan for colour ??
  4. Very impressive detail painting on the under carriage.
  5. 1500 gray surfacer applied, going to let it sit for a week.
  6. Nice one Jim, all the extra details up the realism. Like the tail lights on the rear fender. Its great to see someone building the RM chopper kits, they are very enjoyable to build and customize.
  7. Thanks Martin, knew the Lowrider builds would get your attention. Here is another pic trying out a different arrangement.
  8. Messing around setting the stance on the 76 Glasshouse. Got it to the roller stage. One good thing about the old metal axle kits, its super easy to lower the ride height. Oob stance. Stock axle locations. Front Rear. For the front the new axle hole locations, 2mm above stock for lowered. 2.5mm below stock for raised. New axles made from 2mm brass rod. Rear. New axle location 3mm above stock to lower. Looking much better now. Raised front. The inspiration.
  9. LOL! could also build this version. Think I will stick with my plan of doing a Lowrider style. With the size of the kit stash, aftermarket products, paint and supplies I could open a small hobby shop.
  10. Bit of variety. You know me, I like to do something different. Hard not to build them as Lowriders. Its a bit funky for sure, here is a laugh for ya. LOL! Yeah, I have a lot of after market wheels. Can never have enough shiney shoes. This is just some of my wire wheel sets. Have more that are in there dedicated kits. My favourite wheels, can you tell.
  11. 4 large ones made from 16mm MDF and 6mm glass. And use a lot singles. Currently have materials set aside for a fifth large, will post up when I get around to making it. No the best pic, but you get the idea.
  12. Thanks Douglas. Thought it might have been obvious but.... same colour I use on all my Lowrider builds. Black.
  13. It's mind blowing to see what people are now doing with the 3D printers. Going to be interesting to see what you use it for.
  14. Interesting colour selection, is it a flat paint or did you top coat with flat clear.
  15. Appreciate all the comments, thank you. Yeah being that there is a lot of chrome trim, it can be a bit intimidating. Thats why I made sure to get in some practice on a few other car builds before tackling the El-Camino.
  16. Judging by the body in the back ground. Thats the snap kit right ?? Looks decent in that colour, you going to keep that low. ??
  17. Agree with your impressions on the kit. I just started working on the 68 Chevelle, got to say im very impressed with the overall quality of the molding and parts. As for the colour, black gets my vote. LOL!
  18. Came across this pic just recently, reminded of your post. Red chassis frame by the looks of it
  19. Mr Hobby from the jars thinned with levelling thinner 1:1.5. Airbrushed with a Iwata HP-TH .5 @ 18-20 psi Use the black surfacer as first initial check coat on the body to find flaws and also used as dark base mainly for my black paint jobs. The Gray is used for light colours. The 50 Ford F-1 will be painted Tamiya TS-24 purple.
  20. Manage to get one light surfacer check coat on all of the bodies. 65 Mercury Comet Cyclone 66 Impala 68 Chevelle 71 Impala. 76 Caprice.
  21. Applied what I call a light check coat of 1500 black surfacer. This help me to see all the mold lines, other issue's and what has been done.
  22. Thanks David, hoping I can do it justice. Thanks Ray.
