  1. Just checking how the wheels look whilst preparing body.
  2. Like I mentioned if you do a google image search for Tamiya Mica Blue, you will find many examples showing how different base coats can change the tone from light to dark. This thread is a good example, which I found in a search. https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/24632-help-on-paint-color/
  3. Very happy to have another Australian kit available, How could I not slam it on some Pegasus wire wheels
  4. A few Tamiya options that are close to the 1:1 example you posted. TS-64 Dark Mica Blue. TS-50 Mica Blue over black base. TS-51 Racing Blue over a black base. A google image search of above colors will show examples.
  5. Something different. New release from DDA collectibles. Supposedly going to be released as a plastic kit Q1 next year. 1:24 Scale.
  6. Excellent clean build, I like it. Good job with all the detailing. Nailed the style perfectly. Its the first custom slammed blown version I have seen built oob, certainly great inspiration for other's.
  7. The start of another Holden HQ sedan Lowrider build.
  8. Really enjoyed building the Holden HQ KIngswood, So decided to start building another one. Oob with aftermarket wheel mock up, needs to be lowered it a bit.
  9. Great to see someone outside of Australia building a HQ kit. Shaping up to street machine style very well so far.
  10. Few more pics of the HQ Kingswood.
  11. Thanks Nigel, something different for a change.
  12. Holden HQ Kingswood is pretty much complete, will post up some more pics sometime soon.
  13. Got some colour and chrome applied to the Kingswood. Clear coat asap.
  14. Thanks Anton, here it is fitted up with some steelies to the rear for a true burnout mode look. This 1:1 is very typical and similar to the scale model.
  15. Made some adjustments to the stance. Lowered the rear and raised the front. Cant believe I actually raised a builds stance.
  16. Thanks for the words Bob, yeah its a mix of styles. Pro Mod, Pro street and a tire killer(aka Burnout car)
  17. Started another Holden HQ, applied a check coat of surfacer and got the wheels painted with Alclad chrome.
  18. I lined mine with galvanized sheet steel and sealed edges and corners with reinforced aluminium duct tape.
  19. Quick mess around with the DDA Custom Blown Holden HQ sedan, fitted up some Aoshima Cragar style wheels to see how they would look.
  20. Im guessing and assuming they can only afford to have a license to produce under the now defunct GM Holden Australia, and to sell in the US market would require a GM USA license to produce which would no doubt be out of reach due to exorbitant fee's and the exchange rate. Maybe when they have built up a substantial revenue they will be able to enter into a US agreement and market. Like I said im just guessing and who am I to say the reasoning as to why they are not selling wholesale outside of Australia.
  21. The DDA kit represents a 1971 Holden HQ sedan. I know wiki can be a bit dodgy, but it does provide some decent info of the HQ. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holden_HQ
  22. If true, its very sad and unfortunate to hear, have followed Rogers builds for many years and always liked seeing what he built and how clean his workmanship was.
  23. Have a look on e-bay, might give you an idea of postage costs. I guess there would not be enough sales/profit to produce Australian stuff, other wise they would have surely produced something already. 18-21 seconds in on the second video Ron shared there are the Valiant Chargers on display. And going by what the guy said in the video, after every 1/24 diecast has been released 6-12 months later a plastic kit version will be available. So you might be able to get that Valiant R/T plastic model Charlie.
  24. Yeah at first glance it does seem odd, questioned it myself when I first seen the larger rear side window opening on a mates build up. But the trim on the window is very pronounced and will be easy to mask and paint Also installing from the outside is different, but the fit up is very precise. When the trim is painted it does distract away from the approach taken with the rear side windows.
