  1. Thanks Bob, not bad for straight from the can. Plan to polish with Tamiya compounds so I hope that should take it to next level shine and increase to depth of the reflection. Ha ha, yeah l learned what I did wrong the first time. I made the mistake and applied the SMS Pearl Blue Berry over grey surfacer, its has to be used over a black base.
  2. Applied a new base coat of SMS paints Jet Black to this Holden LC Torana build, I wasnt happy with paint on it before so decided to do it again.
  3. Got the Skyline of the paint stand. Like always cant wait to do a paint mock up.
  4. Thanks Brian, SMS colour shift/chameleon paints are user friendly just a black base then build up with light coats to gain full coverage of the pearls. Like all things just takes practice and learning to gain an understanding of how things work. Thanks Jim appreciate the comment. Hope the overall look of the car is striking as well.
  5. Applied the colour coat to the Camaro, and finished the wheels.
  6. Appreciate the comment Bob, cant wait to remove them from the paint stands and do a paint mock up.
  7. Applied the usual Tamiya TS-14 black to the Ken Mary Skyline and the Malibu. Cant complain with the result, but im out of practice. I will make sure to get some better pictures when I take them of the paint stands.
  8. Finished the interior for the 64 Malibu.
  9. Thanks Bob, Im looking forward to finishing the wheels and piecing them together.
  10. Some SMS paints. Solar Flare and Holoshift are new releases
  11. I really like this build of Rogers, so many well thought out features and custom work. Smooth, clean and low.
  12. Bit of a preview. Got the wheels centres painted.
  13. Ha ha thanks Brian, the Mr Finishing Surfacer 1500 black is good stuff. Thanks Steve, hopefully get some gloss black on the Malibu this coming weekend. Then we will see how good it looks. Im very happy how the stance turned out on the Camaro, its spot on for sure. Nice and low and Hella Flush.
  14. Picked some wheels from the stash I 3D printed awhile back, done some cutting to chassis and roughed in the stance. And started doing the body work.
  15. Thanks Bob, always appreciate your comments. Like a majority of my builds the Camaro will be a little bit different.
  16. Whilst im waiting for the surfacer to fully dry on the Skyline and Malibu, and im in a body prep kinda mood I figured I will get a few more bodies prepared and ready for paint. Need to keep it simple and fun so I remain motivated. Dug this kit out of the stash to see what I can come up. Out of the box mock up, yeah its going to need a change of wheels and a stance adjustment.
  17. Cheers Bob, its a perfect candidate to build in my favourite trademark style.
  18. Nailed it, can see exactly where you got all the inspiration and idea's from. Well done Steve.
  19. Excellent work on the grill Steve. Yes mate, I will be here to watch and comment. Its going to be one of those builds that il be looking forward to each and every update, its going to be epic. I can already picture the end result and know Roger would be smiling and nodding his head with full approval.
  20. Whilst waiting for the surfacer to fully dry on the 72 Nissan Ken Mary Skyline. I got the body work done on the 64 Malibu. Scribed around the front and rear window moulding, drip, trunk lid and tail light moulding. Removed the side peak moulding and door handle. Block sanded entire body and applied a fresh coat of Mr Surfacer 1500 black. Hmmm, guess I didnt notice the bonnet/hood had slid forward whilst taking the picture 🤦‍♂️ Now to let it dry/cure for a week so that the surfacer fully hardens.
  21. Thanks. I used same technique on the front grill. Covered the outer trim, grill and headlight surrounds with BMF. Then coated all of it with Mr Surfacer 1500 black. And used cotton tips soaked with Mr Levelling thinner to remove the surfacer. Hey Steve, yeah mate trying to get motivated to build and start posting on the board again. Ha ha, been awhile since I done a spray can black paint job, so definitely need some practice. Appreciate the kinds words, taken me many years to learn how to paint and polish. So glad I found some products and techniques that help get consistent results that Im happy with. I will most certainly be "back in black", got to stick to the trade mark colours 😁 Thankyou, I always try do something different and choose unusual suspects to style like Lowriders.
  22. Hey Brian, thanks. Appreciate you dropping in and commenting. I cover the whole gauge face panel with Bare Metal Foil, cut out the opening for the gauge face. Then paint over all of the foil with flat black acrylic paint and using a Tamiya extra small round cotton tip soaked with alcohol remove the paint on the bezel trim.
  23. Finished the interior parts for the Nissan Skyline. Made a custom shift knob, 3D printed a chain steering and Lead City Customs plaque
  24. Thanks Anton, yeah the super charged engine set up is perfect for Aussie burnout cars and Street Machine's. Thanks Bob, hoping a couple simple builds will keep the motivation going.
