Cool Hand

Thankyou very much Dave. The night shot sounds like a very cool idea,It would be challenging but worth a try for sure. I have thought about trying to take pics using the light of a full moon.

My guess would be that it doesnt really need to be a glass surface as long as the suface is very smooth,highly reflective and clean,It should still work. Main thing is to move the model and camera around to find the angle and postion to capture the reflection.

I think that was Pat Covert he built a 62 belair and named it bubbles.

Seeing pics in 1:1 mags is kinda where I got the idea to try it.

Its in my back yard. The main tip is to make sure the water isnt to deep. I have seen reflective pics done indoors. I think it could be done on table top using a sheet of glass with a black piece of poster board underneath.

Thanks Mike. Thanks Virgil, When taking the reflective pics I always shoot in this same location. Like I said nothing elaborate but it does the job.

Hey Virgil, Just thought id share a way that I like to take pics of my builds outdoors sometimes. Its not really next level or an elaborate set up, but I feel its a cool way of getting a different type of pic. Basically I just hose down the concrete which forms a shallow puddle,which helps to capture reflections of the model.

X2 with what Brett said. Have seen this being built on the Oz forum and have to say Shawn is very highly skilled and this build is one of the most impressive Australian scratch builds I have ever seen. Wait til you guys see the amount and the quality of scratch building he has done.

I agree with Dave Zinn's comment about Bob Downie. Bob's builds are an excellent example of a clean build.

Saturday evening over here in OZ. Working on a 70 Torino Cobra,inspiration for this build is from the Mad Max Interceptor.

Finally made a start on my build. So far ive filled in side marker lights. Shaved the side vents and door locks. Removed mold lines. Rescribed door and boot/trunk gaps. Block sanded the body. Next up is to get the ride height set and start work on the engine. .

Starting to take shape and looking real good so far John,cant wait to see the next update.

Looking foward to seeing this build evolve.

This is the kit il be using for my build,it is some what simular in shape to the aussie XB coupe.

Another excellent chopper build Jim. Cleanly built,very well detailed,paintwork is tops. The chrome accent strip on the sides of the tank is cool feature.

I like it. Looks good de-chromed and like the colour scheme you chose. I agree they are good fun to build.
