  1. I've had reasonable luck using super glue as long as the metal surface was scuffed up a little for grip, but I preferred JB Weld.
  2. Was that in Napoli? I did 2 Med Cruises and we stopped there about 5 times among other places. Loved it.
  3. Beautifully done and a great concept!
  4. Does this kit use the pan and parts from AMTs Meyer's Manx kit? I wanted to buy this one, but keep putting it off.
  5. I wonder if they could base it on the fwd MPC Dodge Charger chassis?
  6. I know that what is currently popular in the 1:1 market doesn't always translate, but I'd love to see a line of bi-scale Toyota and Nissan trucks. A late 70s Toyota Hilux and the 80s and 90s trucks, even the Tacomas could be good subjects. The MPC Datsun truck is good for that era but a new stock bodied Nissan 720, a Hardbody and maybe a Frontier and XTerra would be cool too. The old Lindberg Hardbody wasn't too bad, but it was in 1/20th scale. It would also be nice to see a decent first gen Ford Courier and Mazda Rotary and an accurate Chevy LUV would also be appreciated. All these trucks are becoming collectible and at least around Austin I've seen a lot of them being driven by young 20-something people who see them as a cool alternative to high priced collectible cars. I'd take them in curbside or full detail as long as the body looked accurate. In full size trucks, the MPC 70s Dodge is good and Chevys are pretty well covered, too, but maybe Mobius or someone to do a new tool dent side Ford F-100 in all the body styles.
  7. AMT had a nicely proportioned 3G Camaro in the promo line, maybe they could use that tool and add detail?
  8. Maybe to appeal to us older guys along with the younger ones, how about some new tool/new style trucks with a full Overland loadout? A Jeep Gladiator, Ford Maverick, or Toyota Tacoma, are all something I'd like to build. They could do a generic rack, lights, wheels and tires, and other accessories that would work with any of those trucks, and maybe even sell that as a separate kit.
  9. I bought some from Walmart and learned the hard way that not all waterproof sticks and indeed waterproof. I guess the lesson from that is to test one in water first.
  10. !! I forgot about those. They're going on the list.
  11. Good thought, I need to get some razor saws for sure.
  12. That's really cool! Is it 1/24th scale?
  13. Nice build! I had the BOSS version of this a few years ago and lost it. I just bought one of these last week and hope to build it soon.
  14. Three years ago, my wife and I bought an old house and started restoring it on the weekends. We got it done and moved in just before the lock down started and lumber prices skyrocketed. I'd been working on my new work area in the shop when I got hit hard with COVID, so it took me quite a while to recover. I was planning to finish it up this summer until the summer temps got over 105 for two months straight. Anyway, I can't find the box of tools or my Ott Light and need to start buying more. I just bought some new XActo knives, Harbor Freight hemostats and some hand files. What are some other things to get?
  15. Didn't Italeri do one of this car and is this the same kit as that one?
  16. I bought this yesterday and haven't opened it yet, but I wondered if anyone has built the Protar Lancia Integrale kit. I've never built a Protar kit before. I found a couple of them at Wild Bill's Hobby Town in Dallas couldn't resist getting it.
  17. Had to go to Dallas and stopped by another Wild Bill's Hobby Town yesterday and found one kit I wanted and two I didn't know I needed until I saw them! I never knew Protar made a Lancia kit. I've been looking for something to do a Mercedes outlaw style car and this one might do the trick.
  18. I can't wait for the Fords to come out. Now maybe Round 2 can be encouraged to retool the parts to turn their Chevy van into the Open Road Motorhome again!
  19. Any chance you have some flexible louvers that would fit a Porsche front fender? Or a louvered rear deck lid?
  20. I got these in yesterday. I love the 944, and couldn't resist the 911's price. The Super Cub is a really neat little kit and cheap!
  21. I just bought a can of spray brake cleaner and the smell unlocked a sense memory of the days of orange tube Testor's glue in an enclosed room. Does anyone know what was in that stuff?
  22. Do any of the MPC/AMT General Lee or Daytona releases include the parts to do the Charger 500? I think the original General Lee kit had the correct rear window.
  23. So glad to come across this thread! I've been collecting some Italian kits lately in preparation for retirement in a few years. I already have around 20 Porsches and these outlaw style builds are my favorites. I've already got several Ferraris on the shelf and a couple Fiats.
  24. I guess the Revell Jeep Honcho would be the closest.
  25. All good choices! I'd love to build any of these. I have the Tamiya Grand Cherokee that I really need to get around to someday. The Lamborghini was one I've always wanted to build, but the Otaki kit is hard to find.
