Mad Max Aoshima "1st Movie" conversion kit
Drake69 replied to Drake69's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Nice site, lots of neat stuff. When I get our bills sorted out this week I'll hit you up for my order. Glad to see you in business! -
GM never thought they would be worth the cost of reengineering the wagon portion of the car and scrapped the idea, only keeping the '78 and '79 concept cars. A custom body company in California bought the rights to make the wagon version of the TA in the early eighties and produced a few of them, but they were not that popular back then due to cost and waning popularity of station wagons (non-mainstream).

Mad Max Aoshima "1st Movie" conversion kit
Drake69 replied to Drake69's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Well, I'm currently the high bidder (I was first bidder on ALL of them...), so we will see what happens. This will be the fourth time I have attempted to buy this kit. -
I really.... REALLY wish someone would make this kit with some sort of regularity. I keep getting outbid on fleaBay everytime I see one pop up there (like one every 3~4 months or so...uggh). I want to convert my "Mad Max 2" Interceptor into the original car form, but I think only one person makes that conversion kit, and you can't get it anywhere else. Freaking aggravating.

Attention AMC fans

Now if we can just get a new Javelin model kit from Revell... -
Now the body aches and pains really kick in. And you'll start losing your "fine tune" vision. And your hearing will start to dim. Happy birthday!

Take care, dude... we'll keep the light on for ya'.

Revell, lets see a kit of this

With all that bondo, I'm wondering how well it FLOATS. I wish the owner would test it out. -

Just the car. Look how puffy and swollen it is. Just curious. Roughly HOW MUCH putty would it take to build a scale model of that car? After what I'm guessing is 20gal. of Bondo, I'd say AT LEAST a few tubs of Apoxie Sculpt. -
1/25 Revell '70 Plymouth HEMI 'Cuda 2'n1

And I don't have a problem with that. It just looks like instead of a nice comfortable discussion on "what might be coming our way" here, it looks like people are preparing to go to war over nitpicking a model kit that we all have been screaming for for YEARS. I mean, let's face it. The Snap kit is a snap kit, no real detail, the '71 Cuda is the wrong size, slightly disproportioned, front lip-cut, etc, etc, etc... And the AAR Cuda? A mashed up mess of a Cuda/Challenger hybrid. So, with that being said, THANK YOU REVELL for finally giving us something we want! -

Wow, this whole thread makes my head hurt. How about letting Revell put the kit out, have someone review it, have someone else post a thread about correcting issues with this kit (if any), and all of you that are arguing about it not buy it until this list is complete? That way I can actually get ahold of three or four of them before they disappear off the shelves. -

Huh. So this is what 20 GALLONS OF BONDO looks like. Guess Autozone must have had a sale or something. Skull being used as an exhaust tip is actually pretty cool, the rest of the car should be hailed as a monument to how NOT to "pimp your ride". So tragic, even the great poet Homer wouldn't write about it. -
I picked up one of these last week. Looking to try and build it as a "Zombie Apocalypse" response vehicle from the Umbrella Corporation.
-
Here's mine in "Halloween Orange"... My only gripe with this kit is you REALLY HAVE to trim down the interior lip by the back glass or it will destroy the rear pillar, as evidenced in a lot of these kits built missing the back pillar. Otherwise, it's a dream build.
-
No worries on that. So long as the front and rear grilles/bumpers and hood stay true to the factory Demon then I'm happy. The rest of the car is identical to either model anyway, or so I thought.

Just PLEASE let this not come with DONKS. That's all I ask. Dog dish wheels and factory mags are perfect for this kit. -
This one is definitely on my want list. Also would like to see a reissue of the 340 Duster wedge to go with it.

I have an '88 Toyota Supra Turbo I'm swapping in a 2JZ engine into and a Volvo 940 turbobrick I use as a DD. My wife drives an '08 Wrangler daily to work.
