Very nice! I've had that one in primer for years now. Just can't get into finishing it.
  2. Man I'd like to be the one selling you sheet styrene! :D
  3. Ammonia. Get the lemon scented type.
  4. For something like this I'm not sure either. Which Hawaiian is this? Fueler or Funny car? I'd check Google images, but at any rate,it should be someplace where the stress would not be a problem.
  5. Is this the same basic kit as the one that had the record in it,but a later re-issue? Very nice save on an old built-up.
  6. While there were 23 bids, there was only 10 bidders.
  7. John, Thank you for your kind thoughts on my dog AXLE. He was actually 11 y.o.,but I rescued him at age 3.He was a fantastic dog and I think I will have a German Shepherd 'till I die. I have another A/C unit that I use with other airbrushes, especially the Paasche VL as they seem to really use a high volume of air. I don't think I want to mess with it as it works very well with the two Iwatas I have
  8. I like it,as it's not my car or my money, the owner can do as he pleases. Personally, some of my modeling plans call for putting bubble tops on a Cobra and a Ferrari California
  9. My recently acquired iwata whisper jet runs up to 40 psi and turns off. When i depress the airbrush button it turns on and runs until I release the button and it returns to 40psi. I can regulate the pressure to say 20psi by opening a bleed off knob and then it will run constantly as its calling for air.
  10. If things keep going the way they are... they will be showing up all over
  11. I have that kit in the pile. Good to see how you did the details. And as usual,a flawless execution.
  12. If it's blue It's not super clean. Sounds like you bought Bleeche-white.
  13. That's what i was getting at.The Sunbeam with a small block Ford engine as an option in the kit was the Tiger. Is the engine the same color plastic?
  14. ooh Baby! ooh Baby! looks shiny to mine eyes. :D
  15. I don't know about this...I guess it's about the hunt, but what about all the time spent, and gas used to chase around to G.Sales Flea markets are okay as there is sometimes other cool stuff(like tools) and such.If you find a grail that's icing on the cake though.
  16. The Sunbeam kit was AMT.Why would it have an engine from a Revell kit?
  17. I don't understand the "pre-bent" part of this.If the wire is kinked off the roll, just pull it around the handle of your hobby knife. I guess a Pic would help.
  18. Try a putting a cut-off straight pin in a pin vise and start the line with that. Using light pressure is also a good tip,and so is the label tape(think old style dymo labeler). For curves, the circle template is good too.The edges of credit cards have some nice rounded edges and you can cut them up to get in odd places.
  19. Ahhh! How I miss the Midwest model scene. Thanks for the pics.
  20. Yep! Me too. started one years ago to replicate my brothers '84. Got it ready for paint and he never would send the TU bottle of paint for it after it was repainted. Mine sits in the storage unit since I moved here, and his sits in his driveway up on jack stands.
  21. Use the smell test, and if you can't smell the paint it's probably ready to sand. I wouldn't spray Tamiya clear lacquer over Testor's enamel though,it might wrinkle.
  22. If you airbrushed Testor's enamel and all that's wrong is orange peel, just wait untill it's cured and sand it a little, shoot some clear over it if the candy is at the depth you want. Find out why you got so much OP though.
  23. Check out that person's feedback score!
  24. How was this applied? If you spray canned Testor's enamel you'll have to wait a long time for the paint to cure before you can sand and recoat. If Tamiya or Testors lacquer, you can sand in a few days and recoat. Remember to warm the paint before spraying and get a little closer to avoid orange peel.
  25. Here's mine: Open kit box Ooh-Ahh over the kit and all it's contents go to MCM message forum and find out model is too big,too small, wrong shape, etc. put model back in box with tears in my eyes play games on my computer :D :D :D
