  1. you bite your tongue! If it had been a Boxster then I'd agree, but this was a classic 911 Targa from the looks of it, which is a sad loss
  2. yep it sure is! I have the same calendar lol. It's also been used in numerous Mopar books and magazines, as well as even on "Classic Mopar Muscle" stickers that somebody made and was selling on eBay a few years ago.
  3. looks pretty good, just like the original box art! Can't wait to see it trimmed with BMF, I've got one of these waiting for it's turn to be built lol.
  4. it sort of looks like an older BMW 3 series convertible, although I'm not sure, that's what it looks like by the front fenders/headlight area anyway?
  5. And a personal favorite, "Christine" '58 Plymouth Fury fire scene:
  6. I like the white one on top and the yellow one on the bottom most, but I honestly don't think they would sell very well unfortunately. Maybe they would make a good resin candidate?
  7. nice build, I was SOOO Close to winning two eBay auctions for the Tamiya 850 Saloon and the 850 Estate BTCC kits recently, but as usual I got outbid at the last second. Worst part is the seller was only a half hour from me and he said I could pick them up had I won them, saving me the shipping cost too! lol. Is there an engine in either one of these kits?
  8. it looks pretty good! I like the color combo too! Do you happen to have any pics of it that are a little clearer?
  9. lol I do that AND pay rent with no problems, lmao!!! The only negative thing about where I live is the huge *** spider outside my bedroom window, and the guy who lives above me that shouts "WOOOO!!!!" really loud at different times of the day/night. He's not running on all cylinders, I don't think..
  10. yeah, I am not allowed to have any sort of dish at the apt complex I live in, so I was stuck with Comcast. I'm happy with the internet, but basic cable & expanded basic cable sucks lol. I'm better off paying $8.95 a month with Netflix, I get my Top Gear fix there and theres a LOT of other movies/shows I can choose from. I still would like to have better cable for current tv shows though, lol.
  11. I love Top Gear and I only recently heard about James May's and Richard Hammond's other shows. I'd like to watch them all but I don't get BBC America, I have to upgrade my cable, lol. I was at my parent's house over the weekend and caught an episode where he was by a blue & yellow train, a bullet train I think. He had a scale model of it in his hand. I've tried to find this show & others online in good quality with no luck, and they're not on Netflix either
  12. What I mean is, according to Google Maps, Richland is about 15-20 min away from Hickory Corners (depending on your route). I'm nowhere near there, I'm closer to Blissfield and Toledo.
  13. Rubens Barichello beat The Stig, lol.
  14. I really wish I could go to this, even though it is probably close to 3 or 4 hrs away from me Isn't the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, MI? Richland is about 20 minutes away. Also here is the Event link from GCM's website: http://www.gilmorecarmuseum.org/html/event_details.php?event_id=14&
  15. lookin' good, I have a picture of this exact same Charger from a calendar I bought years back
  16. lol true true ; ) I just got back and can't find solder anywhere, just my luck that Lowes was closed lol. I'll go tomorrow and try to find some if I get the spare time. I really need to get crackin' on my 300ZX project for the JDM community build (that will be painted with the same paint, just a "Graphite Dust" color). Attempted at making little turbos for that, but I think I'll buy some resin ones since they are 100% better lol. I would definitely go with the lightest primer you could find that is still compatible w/ the Testors Lacquer, just in case.
  17. Thanks! I love this shade, so much in fact that I bought another 3 cans of it among others from the same line, lol. There's a nice darker Bronze that I want to try out too (looks sort of like Mopar Tawney Gold, but it needs more green in it). I actually did not use primer for this car, I sanded the body very well with 600 and 800 grit sandpaper, cleaned it thoroughly, and shot it with straight from the can. I didn't use primer because when I checked out the Testors One Coat Lacquer series, that was new at the time, it states in the item description that primer or clear coat isn't needed. So I thought "well, let's see how that turns out" and I sprayed an old kit body that had been broken years earlier. The paint came out very well even with a light sanding to scuff it up a little so the paint could stick. With other paints I still use primer, because a lot of the time I use automotive paints or other Testors paints that call for it. For this particular type of paint, every time I've used it, I spray it the same way I did on the '68 Charger and it comes out very well. I use the "Wet Look Clear" from the same series over the paint to finish it off. I do not know if using primer under it will affect it, but I would say if you're going to use primer, use a Testors Lacquer primer, at least it's the same brand.
  18. I'm doing that right now actually, lol. Well I need to get some solder still, but I've been detailing the chassis so it is more accurate. I must admit though it is a little bit harder to replicate correctly from a spray can, but I think I found a way to fix that. I've detailed the front suspension with correct finishes, and the lower A-Arms look like they've been dipped in Cosmoline. Definitely going the whole 9 yards lol. I'm anxious to share some more pictures but I need a camera! lol. My cell phone just doesn't cut it I'm afraid
  19. I have saved and/or taken hundreds of photographs of cars on one of my Photobucket accounts. Anyone here is welcome to check them out and save them for whatever you want. Use them as reference, as wallpapers (most pictures are scaled down, click on a picture to see it full size), or even as pics for model building inspiration, lol. I will be adding interior fabric patterns and materials soon as well, from woodgrain patterns to custom upholstery (great for reducing to whatever size you need and printing your own decals for models). I have Albums sorted A to Z by Manufacturer, with the exception of a separate Dodge Charger album (lol). I am adding to it all the time, as well as deleting older pictures that aren't that good to make room for new ones. Here is the link to it, you shouldn't need a password since I have these albums set to Public: My Photobucket Car Albums If you have any special requests, let me know here and I'll add them within a couple days.
  20. very cool looking car, CSP also has a Subaru WRX STi that they use as their "Street Racing Enforcement Unit" to take down illegal street racers, love that one lol.
  21. Thank you, there is no need to apologize really. I understand that this sort of thing will happen, but it's all said & done with lol. I look forward to sharing my build progress on the Charger with everyone here, and I definitely look forward to learning new skills, techniques, and tricks, and meeting new people with the same interest I am currently taking the chassis of the Charger apart because I need to repaint a couple things the correct shade, and I will be duplicating factory markings. I am trying to wait until I have access to a digital camera though so I can share, so it may be a little bit.
  22. yeah, I get what you're saying. I will be sure not to get the acid core solder too ; )
  23. ah, I forget about solder. Learning new stuff all the time thanks!
  24. enough, no need to beat a dead horse lol. I'll be going to Hobby Lobby next week, I'll check it out then. For now I'm going to focus on my boyfriend's Birthday this weekend ; )
  25. I absolutely love the Miura, it is a gorgeous car. Both builds look great, very nice work!
