  1. Looking great , @mrmike! I've been toying with the idea of getting that same AMT Challenger , plus the 1973 conversion pieces from Harts , and making a replica of the (doomed) "1973" Challenger from the original Gone In 60 Seconds ( a/k/a "Jill" ) .
  2. REVELL : Any of their 1970's-1980's offerings were jokes ( though I did enjoy building the c.1979 Penny Pincher -- or whatever it was called-- VW Bug , and the same-era VW Bus ) . Most were old / older kits with new decals , garbage two-piece tyres , and hideous wheels... And , fitment issues galore . MPC : Many of the rehashed 70's annuals / promos throughout the 80's --- poor plating (oftentimes burying the entire chrome tree in plating , to the point of obscuring the parts) ; ugly decals ; custom-only wheels ; glass tinted so dark as to be virtually painted black ; same flippin' B.F. Goodrich tyres in every kit , even then-new releases (e.g. , 1984 Corvette) ; poor-fitting chassis-to-body , and ; "core-shift" ( wheel base off side-to-side --- think : 1975 , ante-seq. / ad seq. Dart Sport . Still a problem to this day ! ) . AMT : Again , most 70's - 80's offerings . Similar to MPC : old annual kits gussied-up with ugly decals , "snow" tyres , ugly-colour plastic , and "dry-transfer" decals . No part numbers to refer to ; no positive-mounting points , and ; those caca 2-piece tyres ( or the aforementioned Good Year Rallye GT "snow" tyres ) .
  3. Look like MPC '72 R.R. parts in resin --- or at least based-upon MPC's parts , then corrected to 1/24 scale ? Those ostensibly fit the Monogram 1971 Satellite & GTX ? No grille included ? Or , is that a P.E. piece ?
  4. 1970 - 1972 El Camino / 1971 - 1972 GMC Sprint 1970 - 1971 Ranchero 1993 - 1996 Caprice 9C1 1998 - 2012 Crown Victoria PPV
  5. Shapeways Ra-Sti“s Scale Accessories by camaro69 - Shapeways Shops . He may be willing to 3-D a 1975-1976 Duster / Valiant grille ( with the emblem facing the correct direction at that ; maybe with clear headlamps and parking lamp lenses , too ? ) .
  6. There'll be instructions on how to add rust holes ; decals will cover (no pun intended) the rest of the oxidation . Missing parts will be... bonuses ! Like extra tyres and wheels .
  7. 1987-1988 Yugo GV and Turbo , esp. with customising versions .
  8. I pre-ordered one after I pre-heated the oven , but before I pre-boarded a flight .
  9. B-N-L is a 'Cottage Industry' , as are most resin parts organisations ( from making or sourcing a master or masters ; to creating --and maintaining-- the moulds ; to producing the items ; to marketing, packaging , shipping , etc. , etc.... no small feat !) . Personally , I'd rather wait months or years for primo parts or kits than receive lumps of cr@p in short order . No , I'm not speaking to nor for B-N-L ; just a general observation .
  10. At least the exhaust isn't moulded-on , nor is the driveshaft . The worst example of mufflers I can recall seeing is the exhaust setup of Monogram's 1971 Hemi'Cuda ( every iteration ) ---- then there's the exhaust-pipes-moulded-to-the-rear-axle-assembly of Monogram's 1970 GTX , SuperBird , Super Bee , Road Runner , and 1971 Satellite (later , GTX) .
  11. YES ! I've been pining for at least one of the iterations of the outstanding MPC Celica / Supra kits !
  12. I'm definitely not complaining about 40+ year old kits overall , as I know what I'm getting when I purchase them (original , or ad seq. reissues) . Thanks for the caster's name !
  13. @Rodent, those look great ! It'd be nice if the resin casters would make "underhood packages" ( batteries , wiper motors , brake masters , brake boosters , etc.) for popular kits which are lacking these parts . I don't know why it bothers me so much when these parts aren't included and/or I see a 1966 & earlier brake master on a 1967 & later vehicle's firewall . Similarly , incorrect transmission-to-axle (i.e. , Monogram's 1971 Hemi'Cuda kits , which should have a Dana 60 or a Torqueflite) bothers me , too . Certainly , those "mishaps" are easier to correct , as many casters make a sundry of modern and older transmissions ; and a Dana gearbox can be had , with Plastistruct tubes for the axle shafts .
  14. Mr. Arthritis doesn't permit for me to whittle such small items from plastic , etc. , stock . I'll have to peruse eBay for a brake master (or , likely , use the "unseen" one from the Chevy Van [ AMT ] ) ; and , yes , the wheels are easily replaced... it's just mildly-frustrating that one may encounter a compulsory need to fab the in-absentia parts and / or source them via the aftermarket (though I do support Fireball , et alia , as often as I can ).
  15. The top is warped for sure ( at least on the production copy which Chris built ) , which correlates with the tweaked backlight frame fitment ( e.g. , left-front of top affects the right-rear of the top ) . I want to get a copy of this kit , but some of its errors are a bit off-putting ( the aforementioned top ; the 5-lug rear wheels with 6 lug fronts ; no brake master cylinder ) . Not absolute deterrents , but definitely a pause...
  16. WOW !!! Now THAT is a work of art ! I really had to scrutinise the 'assembled' photos to determine that it was a built-up kit (the 'flat' rear licence plate gave the truth up) .
  17. Bingo ! And , that stuff does , indeed , look like black rubber when it dries !
  18. 1972 Barracuda Motown Missile Pro Stock (see instruction sheet , courtesy of Scale Auto Reviews site) . I wonder whatever happened to the separate Torqueflite trans , and the dual distributors / coils ? MPC 1754 Motown Missle... | Scale Auto Model Kit Reviews & Reference (proboards.com)
  19. WOW !! That conversion is coming along nicely ! That 19,000 four doors -to- 129,000 two doors seems about right . In my 50 years , I've seen more 2 doors (including a few of the 300 Deluxe Coupes) than I have 4 doors .
  20. I recently bought an MPC 1974 Duster from eBay . I'm guessing that it was built in '73 or '74 due to its original Block Buster ! decals were applied (along with the other decals for the drag / customised version ; the crazy hood scoop , too) . It has the custom fascia , the aforementioned scoop , Spyder wheels (my favourites) , and the custom rear bumper --- no stock parts were included in the purchase (see link for photos) . Honestly , I'd have left the car in its gloss grey paint with the decals intact , and simply given it a cleaning and minor detail job ; however , the gloss brown chassis , green differential , and other atrocious colour choices left me with no option : strip & rebuild it is ! Now , I'm wondering if anyone here has built one of the 1973-1975 Duster kits with the customising parts ? If so , I'd love to see some photos ---- I'm going to retain the custom parts on this build . Vintage Built Plymouth Duster Block Buster Model | eBay
  21. Nice 'Bird ! I especially like the red interior -- not terribly common back then . The Michigan '76 plates are my absolute favourites .
  22. I'd figured that the AMT and MPC 1971 Chevelle kits became 1972 models ( as they were Annual kits ) . I didn't realise that the MPC kit was Frankensteined back-and-forth ; I do remember the SSlasher [sic] and some other iteration in the 80's , but I've never had any of them (box art turned me away) . The AMT kit "could" be made into an , in es. , 3-in-1 , offering 1970 , 1971 , and 1972 cosmetics (e.g. , separate fascia ; 1970-only front side markers as separate pieces ; 1971-1972 rear bumper / tail lamps ) .
  23. Pollard notwithstanding ; at least that '36 looks like an actual vehicle , unlike those hideous Peony Pony et al. ! I love psychedelic art and surrealism ---- but , those renderings are just plain awful . I'm inclined to agree that those take the proverbial Rosemary's Baby cake --- even Palmer kits' box art wasn't THAT nauseating !
  24. The MPC 1977-1978 Monaco Sedan (and any of its variants) are all saddled with the incorrect transmission . It's a generic 4-speed transmission with its roots in the 1971 Plymouth annuals (the similar Dodge b-bodies had a hole-in-the-block , but at least had a Torqueflite instead) . The engine compartment is completely incorrect for 1975 & later models , and is lacking in realistic details ( there's no brake master cylinder , for instance) . I'm not knocking the old MPC Monaco . If one doesn't sweat its 'functional inaccuracies' , it presents as a nice representation of a popular police car .
