  1. @gman , Thanks much for the link ! I re-watched @hpiguy's review & build of this exact kit last night ; I didn't see where or how he attached the hoses to the heads (other than via the link you've provided to images of the completed build) . Thanks again !
  2. I've completed the build of the flathead V8 of the 1953 F-100 , which was an easy accomplishment... ... except for its radiator hoses ! I followed the instructions to-a-tee ; however , when I test-fit them --and installed them-- they ended-up splayed-out ! Now the engine assembly resembles the stance of a ready-to-strike Funnelweb Spider ! Where did I go wrong ?? I've built countless amounts of these exact engines , in this exact application , over the course of ~40 years ; I'm not unfamiliar with how they should look ; and , until today , had no problems . Are the instructions --reprints of the original P.I.T.A.-style AMT "map" instructions from the 60's-- incorrect ? I would like to see some built examples of that engine , and the clocking of the hoses , please . Thanks for any guidance !
  3. Beautiful Z-16 ! The 396 that year was unique in its self , as it was rated at 375hp and had hydraulic lifters ( Corvette's 425hp version had solid lifters , IIRC ) . Great choice for the wheels and tyres ! ( side note : I never understood why Chevrolet decided to gussy those Z-16's with a load of options , but then skimp on the differential [ "10 Bolt" , no Posi -- 3.31 gearing , open ] and "saddle" it with power steering and power brakes ! )
  4. Perfect example ! TS-42 is as close to GA4 Light Gunmetal ( Winchester Grey on Plymouth ) as one can get in an off-the-shelf aerosol . Beautiful 'WS23U1' , by the way !
  5. Fantastic ! Just like the factory ! As much as I can't wait to see the finished product , I equally enjoy watching it come together !
  6. Which is why Dodge employed T/A on their 1970 Challenger --- can't copyright numbers nor acronyms .
  7. Looks really cool , man ! Reminds me of some of the "hybrid" cars that were assembled in and for South America or Afrika ; lots of Dodge / Plymouth combos around there . Keep it up !
  8. Le cabriolet Plymouth GTX 1969 que vous avez créé est une belle représentation de l'ère des «Muscle Car». Veuillez continuer à construire ces types de kits; des constructions de cette qualité!
  9. Let's hop-in for a ride in that bad boy ! Finest LTD I've seen , period . Keep 'em coming !
  10. Let me preface the following , by stating that This is your build ; paint and construct it as it fits you . Correct engine colour for a 1969 440-HP is Chrysler Engine Orange . The engines were painted in assembled-state , including exhaust manifolds (which the paint quickly burned-off from , leaving only traces of the engine paint's colour ) , intake manifold (cast iron or aluminium) , and the valley pan ( 350-361-383-400 ; 413-426-440 ) . For a factory-stock replica , this is the only correct way to paint the engine . Again --- this is your build , your vision . Colour , paint , and build to your satisfaction... Which is fantastic by the way ! Keep up the great work !
  11. THAT kit (and its companion Charger) by Keeler are especially amazing when one considers the compleate picture . Scale Auto ran a comprehensive article on both cars , and the story behind them and their construction . I cannot do the article any justice ---- I just wish that I could remember which month it appeared in originally ( one of the 1988 issues is all that I can recall ) .
  12. He last visited this forum on 2nd February ---- seems like long periods of no posts previous to that . I hope that he's okay . http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/profile/9892-lovefordgalaxie/
  13. Was the glass empty to begin with ? Or was it full ? If it was empty , and someone filled it half-way , then it's half-full . If it was full to begin with , and half-of-its-contents were emptied , then it's half-empty .
  14. Thank you for the recommendation ! I love those ol' Gatorback tyres --- state-of-the-art for their time . The MPC version(s) are the ones I truly desire , as they're a trip down memory lane . I'm just apprehensive about buying one via eBay , et alia , due to the dreaded "tyre burn" issues . I'll keep me eyes open for the Tamiya kit -- it looks nice !
  15. I would LOVE for Round2 to reissue the Supra kit(s) ! Easy-to-build , and wonderfully-detailed !
  16. Thanks , @Luc Janssens , I ostensibly didn't see that -- or , perhaps , I ignored it -- the first time around . I , like probably 85% of us here , am extremely pleased to see the return of the iconic Olds A-bod ! I like the custom pieces ; I hope that they're included in this partially-new issue . It'd be nice to see how well the chassis , engine , etc. , from the AMT or Lindberg Olds kits of '66 , '67 , and '69 model years fit .
  17. ? Between Airplane ! and reading Iceberg Slim's works...
  18. Forgive my nighttime meds' brain function here ; I don't see where @tim boyd mentioned the new tool body as being a drop-top . Did I miss something ?
  19. The best advice I ever got from a friend when I was telling him about my problems with my girlfriend : " Knock-a-self a pro , slick ! Grey matter back lot... perform us down ! I take T.C.B.'n ." All that I could say was : " You know what they say : 'See a broad to get dat booty yack... leg 'er down an' smack 'em yack 'em !' "
  20. I've built a handful of Tamiya's excellent kits over the years , and enjoyed every one of them . I shot an email to them a few years ago regarding a proposal that they should expand their line of paint colours ( i.e. , engine colours and body colours ) to include American vehicles . I also proposed that they give a couple of popular classic / iconic American car kits a try ( e.g. , 1965 Mustang , 1967 Camaro , etc. ) . I don't recall if I received a reply... I'll have to try again . I'd really like it if they were to produce a stock Renault R5 Turbo !
  21. I agree completely .
  22. North Korea is a 1/2 hour ahead of South Korea ( haha ! ) .
  23. B09 Apprehender Package was the mother of invention for the 4-4-2 ; it was available for four door ( Oldsmobile's police package ) or two door ( 4- barrel , 4-speed , 2-exhaust , originally ) . The inclusion of the Jet-A-Way 2-speed transmission means making this F-85 an accurate B09 would necessitate a 4-speed trans. But , at least the hard parts are there ; kit-bashing for those whom wish to update their '64 Cutlass F-85 . I'd be very happy with an OOB build of a '64 Olds !
  24. Until you walk a mile in another man's shoes , you can't lead a horse to water .
  25. I seem to remember this kit from c.1978-c.1979 ; I remember buying more than one at the GEMCO in Downey when they were new . Other than the garbage tyres , it's an easy and straight-forward build which yields a prideful piece ( if a 10 year old like me can assemble it with no issues , then it's got to be good ! Haha ) ,
