Thank you , Robert Hall , for clarifying the content of my post . Naturally, I am referring to the MPC. A-body annuals ; to wit : - 1971 Duster 340 - Midyear. 1971 Demon 340 Annual - 1972 Duster 340 - 1973 Duster 340 ( first KIT in the series to receive a Pro Stock style 426 Hemi as an OPTION ) -1974 Duster 360 -1975 Duster ; midyear 1975 Dart Sport ; final release of the Duster , period -1976 Dart Sport . Mobeius? Revell? You guys listening ? 1970 Duster , followed by a 1971 Demon ; 225 six , 340 , and 426 / 440 engine options . 8.75" rear , and the Dana 60 from the 1968 Dart . 4 speed and TorqueFlite options ( moulded separately of course ) . Do it to it !

Some more reference photos of a 1972 Coronet , from 28.12.2014 . That's real powder on that rascal ... all in always warm and sunny California ?

The Charger dash and its gauges will be fine , as the round instruments were an option --- although not the Rallye clustre. Instead of a tachometre, an analogue clock was employed ; however, for this intent, no one would notice . The steering column and steering wheel are perfect ,too ( and, yes , the Tuff Grip wheel was an option with power steering ) . You could rework the existing seats from the Monaco , only the upholstery pattern is different ( no easy feat ; lots of scratch building involved. . The pattern of the Police and Taxi models would be easy to replicate though ). You'll want to "deck" the nose lots more , as the 1971-1973 models had the wraparound bumper . Good call on reworking the Charger piece . The tail lights for 1972 were similar to those of the 1971-1973 Dart Swinger, regardless of model . Bumper guards were common , front and rear. Missing Link offers beautiful plated resin wheel covers which were available from 1972-1976 . They also offer excellent plated renditions of the 1969-1975 Dodge hubcaps . Are you planning to use the AMT 1971 Charger chassis , suspension , engine compartment , and engine / transmission ? Here's a link to thee definitive MoPar reference library : http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/library.shtml Feel free to hit me up for other other specifics regarding the "Original 4 Door Charger".

<--- as the owner of a "1/1" 1972 Coronet ( WH41G2A ) , I applaud your efforts and diligence! Lots of subtle --albeit , recognisable- - differences between the Charger and Coronet ; same goes for all 1971 & later B-bodies . With that out of the way ... I'm sure that you're aware that the parking lamp assemblies are the exact same as the 1970 Coronet ( "70W" cast into the lenses ) , so the MPC ( recently , Round2 ) 1970 Super Bee / Coronet R/T could be your source for those pieces . Looking forward to watching this bad boy come-together !

Legend has it that Travolta used to cruise around in that sexy Firebird while wearing * just* a tanktop which had glitter iron on of Kelly Preston's high school annual photograph.

The most prized kit in my "Some Day ..." stash is the MPC 1978 Chevy Pickup annual . I had a few of them when they were new ; none of them survived the ham-handed 8 year old yours truly.. The 1978 annual is unique : first year of the MPC. C/K series , but the only year for the 2-wheel-drive version . Finding another unbuilt sample eluded me for decades ... until I found a "Buy It Now" sample for a very reasonable price ( less than $100 , more than $50 ) . At last , I had my hands on a primo 1978 C 10 ! Well , it's been looking at me every day for the last 4 years ! Ha ha ha ! In preparation for "some day" , I purchase a set of resin plain wheels with hubcaps ( which is how I've always wanted to build it . The original , of course , had fancier factory wheels ( with some nice custom wheels as an option ) , but 90% of the pickups that were around when I grew up in the 70s.were shod with plain wheels & hubcaps ; that's how I want(ed) mine to look : plain , work type truck , but with headers and side pipes . And now I have the opportunity! But , I digress ... I hope to build that rascal before I lose my vision or "buy the farm" .

WHAT BUGS YOU
1972coronet replied to PARTSMARTY's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Let's see here : - Lack of even basic underhood details : brake master cylinder ; decent radiator ; and nice firewall and inner fenders / shear panels . - Incorrect engine / transmission / differential combos ( e. g. , the 4-speed / 8.75 diff in the old Monogram 1971 Hemi'Cuda) . -Lack of decals . - Bland tyres/ disproportionate sizes . -
Yenko vs Baldwin Motion Streetburner
1972coronet replied to Dieselhead's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
...not to mention that the Yenko cars were COPO, read : not SS models in origin ( same goes with all COPO Camaro ; the only COPO whose origins were Super Sport was the 1968 L78 SS-396. Chevy II with the TH 400, but that's another story ). Never the less ; Yenko, Gibb, et al. , started life a base coupe models , and were assigned COPO "________" and "_________" conversion code designations . In order to *correctly* replicate a Yenko with the RS package , the grille would have an "RS" emblem ; a standard Bow Tie emblem with standard grille . Either way , have fun ! -
Model Master Citrus Yellow Metallic
1972coronet replied to om617's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That colour on the 1971 Barracuda body looks quite like Citrus Green Metallic . One caveat ; Chrysler reformulated its paints' colours for 1971 , to wit : paint codes whose prefix is "G" = 1971 ( for example , "GB5" is a different shade of blue versus "EB5" ; the latter being a 1969 colour, with "E" indicating "1969" ) . It would appear that Chrysler paint code is FF4 , a 1970 colour :http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/images/1970/duster-valiant/FF4-Duster.jpg -
What's not to like about that rascal ? It. Is. Gorgeous! I really like that you kept the chrome / brightwork, and more importantly, the door handles ! That interior is so luxurious looking ; the colour and texture is perfect ! Super work , my friend . You do the Penta Star proud ??

Love it , GTX! Such an iconic car , and you have done it justice , my friend. RIP , Cone Chevrolet ( I used visit their parts dept daily when I worked at Don Steves Chevrolet , another defunct dealership ?). Bill Thomas Racing used to be a couple of blocks away from Cone , on Juliette St in Anaheim . But , I digress ... Fantastic 409 , and a great rescue !

1970 Dodge Challenger T/A Panther Pink
1972coronet replied to 72 Charger's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
In reality , there were more than one colour of primer employed by Chrysler. I have seen black , red oxide , and Grey ( Lynch Road plant ) ; black , and gray.( Hamtramck) , black , gray ( Los Angeles) , and ; gray , and yellow-green ( St. Louis , and Newark) . Most of the base primers were applied in a dunk-in-a-vat manner ( black , and red oxide ) , with the grays being sprayed ( by hand , esp in the older plants ) . Just curious : are there any documented. FM3 AAR' Cuda or Challenger T/A? It was a Spring 1970 colour ( along with FY1 and _______ ) , and seeing that the T/A and AAR were built in March-April ( along with other "regular" Barracuda and Challenger models ; a story in itself! ). Have fun building your "JH23J0B" , 72Charger! It's a fun kit . If I may recommended so : use the Holley 2300 atomisers from the 1971 GTX 440 Six Barrel , as they are **much** nicer than the lumps called carburretures in the Challenger ( and 1970 GTX and 1969 Super Bee ) . -
1969 Nova SS* Blue* Interior ...
1972coronet replied to 1972coronet's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Excellent suggestion, Ace! Tamiya is my usual choice ( almost exclusively ) , so your advice is perfect ; I love their blue metallic ( it's a decent match for Chrysler's GB5 blue . Thanks again ! -
1969 Nova SS* Blue* Interior ...
1972coronet replied to 1972coronet's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The headliner ! Man , that's right ... I like your idea of adding a white base coat for the headliner --- maybe even spraying the entire inside of the body with a light Grey primer would work , too . I'm in love with the idea of a white Nova with base Super Sport interior in blue. Thanks for your suggestions , Snake ? -
1969 Nova SS* Blue* Interior ...
1972coronet replied to 1972coronet's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thank you , Mike ? ! I'm slowly building a 1969 SS-396 Nova ( L78 / L98 ) which is ostensibly based on the ( phantom) COPO Nova . It's going to look rather plain ; polished plastic white body , with the plain wheels/ hub caps ; wider rear wheels with the AMT Blue Streak tyres ( maybe the M&H slicks instead ... Not sure yet .) Basically , a 'Connecting Highway Saturday Night Special" ?. -
The Monogram 1969 1/2 Super Bee 440 Six Pack is an okay kit ; however it's not without inaccuracies : -Power Disc Brake Master Cylinder . These cars all had drum brakes , period - Road Wheels ( colloq, "Magnum 500" ) are quite incorrect . All 1969 Six Pack / 6Bbl cars were shod with 15"x6" plain , gloss black wheels with chrome lugs , period. Plymouth (!!) back seat embellishment Beyond those gaffes ; asub-sized exhaust system ... and it's molded-to the differential housing (!!) . Get some resin steel wheels and red line tyres from Chief Joseph : cut the exhaust from the axle ; and remove the Plymouth "Fratzog" embellishment., and have fun ?

White interior with red accents !

Round 2's MPC 1974 Plymouth Road Runner
1972coronet replied to drksd4848's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I didn't realise that the base model 170 hp 318 received engine callouts (?) I know that the 340 (1973) , 360 (1974) . and 400 (1973-1974) got 'em ; I've only seen two 1973-1974 Road Runners with the 318 : 1973 with a 3-speed manual , and a 1974 with a column-shift TorqueFlite . I wonder why the 1972 R.R. with the base 400-4 didn't get callouts on the hood ?- 40 replies

MPC 1971 Road Runner Reissue (?)
1972coronet replied to 1972coronet's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I was sharing my communications with Round2, however, I couldn't copy & paste the desired excerpts as I was using the desktop computer on the clclubhouse where O live. I'm just not familiar with the c&p arrangements on the community computer.NNever-the-less ... The response from Round2 was more * promising* than I had expected . I expected to hear that the tooling was long gone , with zero hope of being reissued . The actual response was , in es, "We will forward your proposal to our R & D department.". -

WHOA ! I did not mean for all of that unrelated BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH to get posted ! Sorry for the unnecessary additional info ... not used to the functions of another's computer !
