  1. Looks pretty good overall Greg. We all have a bad paint/clear day every now and then. You did a fantastic job on the engine detail. Are those decals on your hoses? That’s s real nice touch there. And you already know I like what you did with those wheels. Nice job.
  2. Added a AMT box trailer. I wish I had more reflective tape for the sides. I only had enough for the ICC bar.
  3. Bill, have you come across ANY JoHan kits that weren’t as accurate as the 1:1 car? I’m pretty new to building JoHan cars.
  4. I recently bought two JoHan kits. A 63 Fury, and a 62 Dart. Paid $50 for each one. Then after realizing the prices on the 62 Plymouth, and 63 Dodge, I went the resin route on these two. I couldn’t even find a 63 Dodge in styrene, let alone buy one.
  5. Sorry about the triple post. Something is definitely wrong. It kept telling me I couldn’t post without waiting 17 seconds, and I tried posting three times, and it triple posted. I asked a moderator to remove the two.
  6. I was surprised to see it get that high right out of the hole. The stating bid was $49.99, but it climbed pretty quick. I would like to get this kit sometime, but I just bought a valuable horror novel, so I’m tapped right now. What is your guess on the final price, Bill?
  7. That’s what I was doing wrong. Thanks for the advice.
  8. That’s kind of where I’m at now.
  9. There is kit of this car on eBay right now , and it’s been started, it’s up to $113 with 12 bidders on it, and it still has five days to go yet.
  10. Looking great Steve. Isn’t it nice when things come together so nice? I don’t have an airbrush yet, but, there are some Model Master lacquers that spray so nice right from the can, making it a delight. Those muffler clamps you scratch made look great on the exhaust. I noticed you drilled them and I am guessing there are “u” bolts as well? If I try to drill holes that small in such a small piece of styrene, I always break through one of the sides, even with the smallest pin vise bit.
  11. Welcome aboard Art.
  12. Wheels look fantastic. It’s amazing what a little detail can do to make them look so realistic.
  13. Very nice build Mike. This is one of my favorite kits. I’ve built one, that I really enjoyed, and got two in the stash.
  14. Nice Mopars Ron. I have a Blue 70 GTX, and a 70 Roadrunner, that will be hitting the bench real soon. I just can’t decide which one is getting the Fireball Six Pack carb set up, and which one will be box stock. I also have his rally wheels rubber tires to use too. I’ve used his rally wheels, and tires on a 70 RR I built for a customer, and they looked fantastic.
  15. Thank you everyone. I really appreciate the positive replies.
  16. I was thinking the same thing. I wish I could do surgery like that.
  17. I saw the video of the real car on YouTube. It’s UNREAL! This would be a really cool build. I’ll be following.
  18. I recently built this truck, and as Bill stated, it goes together nice. But there is a lot of flash on the parts. I normally don’t build trucks, but will definitely build some more. It’s a nice change when you get into a rut with the car kits.
  19. Thanks Steve. Yes, it does certainly look a lot better than the way they were.
  20. This build was on hold, as I accidentally sat on the body. After acquiring another body, and removing the trim, I realized everything happens for a reason. Ed Flunk, using one of his JoHan bodies as a guide, was kind enough to make me templates to modify the rear wheel wells to make them appear more correct. It’s almost ready for primer. So one thing led to another, and I pulled apart some of the chassis, and engine, to do some additional detailing and repaint the engine block and heads Street Hemi Orange, to give it more of a correct look. The car will still have red line tires in the front, but now it will have MT drag radials, from Chief Joseph in the rear. Also the rear is going to be lowered just a bit also.
  21. Good point, even the way the floor, and interior is laid out, resembles a die cast.
  22. Those headlights on the Revell grill are terrible in my opinion. I don’t know why they would attach with a post? Even if you paint them a flat aluminum color, the dimple still shows. Adding some BMF over the holes and going with a different lens seems to be the best route.
  23. Thanks everyone for the replies. Its the supplied 8V-71 engine.
