Builds like this are never rushed.
-
It’s turning into a beautiful car Seth, and those wheels look amazing. Very nice detailing.
-
Well, you really are good at building them. When you do the thru bolt, are going to use bolts like Pro Techs PE style, or scratch build them? I’ve been incorporating them into my builds lately, from suspensions to oil pan and trans pan drain plugs.

Ed, I’ve seen some of your work on Donn Yost’s channel. Do you have a website I can visit? And thank you for the info. With MCW, my main concern at first, was, it took a while before the payment was taken from my bank account. That’s the reason I contacted Dave because he normally submitted my info on payment promptly. I was worried my bank info was lost in the mail. Dave explained to me the situation, and I wished him well in his future endeavors. I have heard, and read other positive reviews pertaining to WWW. And if he is re making the molds, I’m sure the product will be even better. I really don’t mind waiting for quality. I noticed a few things, like you stated, with the age of the molds. I’ve bought 1962 galaxies in the past, and one recently, and there were some minor issues like you described.

Looking good Mike. When I built mine, I added a smaller shifter ball. The supplied one would be larger than a softball in scale.

Update on MCW Resin Replicas. I ordered a 62 Plymouth Savoy, and a 63 Dodge 330, and two weeks passed, and the payment was never taken out of my account. So I contacted Dave, being afraid my bank info got lost in the mail, and he said that Wheels Wings and Waves now has taken over the resin buisness too. Then my bank showed the payment cleared. After checking the WWW site, it states that resin orders are 3 to 5 weeks backed up, as they remake most of the molds. So in another week, I’ll contact them, as it will be over 5 weeks. I’m just hoping the quality is still there. Fingers crossed.

Coming along nicely. That is the perfect color for an old GTO.
-
Those traction bars, and engine look fantastic, JC.

This build is nothing short of spectacular!! Every thing looks perfect. Fantastic detail on the Hemi. A very nice Super Bee indeed. What did you use to make the fuel filters?
-
Very nice job on your Plymouth.
-
Very nice job Michelle. I definitely should start looking for a big car project like this. BTW, I’m from PA also. Wilkes Barre area. Maybe we are neighbors?

It's my version of the Malco Gasser...in orange.

Very nice build. You did a fantastic job on all the under hood details. That fiberglass under the nose, makes the car even more realistic. A nice version other than the box art. Was this car annoying to build other than what you mentioned? -
Wow.. I don’t know how I missed this one? Thats one fine looking Mopar build. That color is perfect for that car.
-
I’d say that interior looks ahead of its time. Hard to believe it’s in a 56 year old car. Very nice color combination. Can’t wait to follow your build when it starts.
-
That makes perfect sense. I’m still learning about Mopar. This car isn’t going to be too wild to begin with. Now, the other cars I am planning will have fender well headers, and the scoops, representing the lightweight versions.
-
I think Steve is right on the scoop making it look “too busy”. Looking online I’ve seen some of these super stocks with flat hoods, and decided to not use one in this build. A flat hood, with the dog dish wheels, black car, and red interior is the plan. It will have wider tires on the rear though.
-
Nice start on the firewall. Looking good. I always wanted a 65 Coronet, but now I want a Fury too.
-
I know what you are saying. Since I’m going to use the Lindberg scoop, I can use the kits hood with its mounting holes, as well as the air cleaner inlet holes, as a template. Still will be extra careful.
-
Should look really fine. The max wedge engines fit pretty nice under a flat hood. I was planning on building the 62 Dart 440 with a more stock appearing look similar to your plan, right down to the steel wheels.
-
I have a choice of these three hood scoops. Looking online at some max wedge cars, it seems scoops are personal preference. I think the third one looks the best for this particular car.
-
There is a guy on eBay that sells the chassis and engines from the Lindberg kits. Not sure if you would prefer to just get the whole kit, and rob all of the other parts out of it as well. I also have a chassis from the Moebius 65 Plymouth, but that floor is just a little to wide. I still might be able to finagle into one of these projects though, since it’s a complete chassis and was only $5.
-
I’m following your 65 build. I actually have the 64 Color Me Gone car started on the bench. It’s a plain white car. Just waiting on some turquoise paint for the interior. That’s what gave me the idea for all this other Mopar stuff.

1969 A12 Roadrunner (I will need some advice)
Brutalform replied to Brutalform's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Getting some of that roundness at the top of the rear wheel well opening a bit flatter would probably be an easy fix, if I had a JoHan body to compare it to, instead of trying to eye it up. -

Thanks. Yes, the rear quarter panel bottom does seem like it’s a long way to the bumper. The more I look at it, AWB does come to mind. I think I might lower the body in the rear just a little. The current stance might be messing with our perception a bit. But even if it was perfectly level, it’s still off somewhere.
