  1. Did some work on the Fury today, and some more work tonight. I plan on doing three more max wedge cars when this one is completed. A few mistakes. I forgot to make the gap where the fender meets the rocker panel. And I do believe the Carter carbs should be an aluminum color? The Duplicolor paint seems to have too large of metallic flakes in it. And the passenger front rims air valve fell off. I have another, but I’ll still be short one from the other pack. I’m tired now so I’ll get the last few things done on it in the morning. Then I’ll get better pics in better light.
  2. I’d try a bunch of different clear lenses first before I perform any drilling. It might do the trick.
  3. Excellent build. That engine detailing looks perfect. Is that the Melrose Missile Kit?
  4. Thanks. Since I robbed parts from the Color Me Gone kits, I’ll most likely do something similar with the spare parts left over.
  5. Sure glad I used these resin intake manifolds. The engine looks more realistic over using the kit intakes. I cut the tabs on the bottom of the air cleaners, so they fit into the Fireball carbs. Now they are removable. Also polished the body. And got the emblems done. Probably start foiling tomorrow.
  6. I just installed an air conditioner in my building room so I will be definitely getting some more bench time in.
  7. Yes, me too. I’ve already changed some things from my original plan I had written down. It’s good practice for my other max wedge projects coming up.
  8. Yes, your manifold did the trick. Looks way, way better. Now the carbs are positioned more correctly so I can use the air cleaners. I’ll be using the new manifolds on my other 413 and 426 engines. I have the engine repainted, but I want to do some detail in the crevices. Also I polished the body tonight. Lots of foiling to do on this car.
  9. Looks great Dennis. I also have a 63 Dodge, except it’s not as rare, it’s resin. I plan on building mine with a scoop, and fender well headers. I noticed on the 63 Dodge body, that the Lindberg chassis fits in with very little modification. I also have a 62 Plymouth Savoy, and a 62 Fury and they both seem to fit well also. Now, for the 62 Dart I also plan on building, needs even more modifications than the 63 Plymouth did.
  10. Also, color the area being drilled with a black sharpie. You’ll be able to see if you are centered.
  11. Also painted the body with a Duplicolor base, and a few coats of Testors clear. Plan on polishing it in another two days. Interior is Tamiya light blue pearl.
  12. Was moving along on the engine, and I fixed the underside of the air cleaners so they would fit in the Carter carbs, and be removable. Found out they both won’t fit on at the same time, because of the kits intake is wrong. So I bought three manifolds from Missing Link, that will be replacing the kit part. Hopefully the top of the engine comes off easy.
  13. That’s a VERY realistic looking KW. The subtle weathering you performed on this build is perfect.
  14. Pro Tech model parts. Not hollow ends but the ends can be easily drilled with a pin vise.
  15. Looks great Steve. The detail really stands out. It’s like the firewall is a model in its own sense.
  16. I’m really looking forward to the 63 Dodge 330.
  17. Since it’s a Fury with chrome trim and all, just a nice street car that would hit the strip now and then. I’m thinking on a blue exterior with a light blue interior. Just slicks and headers. No scoop or fender well headers. That will be on the other cars coming up. They will all be max wedge 413 and 426. A 62 Savoy, a 62 Dart, a 63 Dodge 330. I even have a 66 Dart too, with a 71 Duster under carriage. Probably get me a 340 for that one.
  18. Yep. But that chassis can be shoe horned in there. I have an extra Moebius 65 chassis here and that one is super wide.
  19. A set of Joseph’s drag radials.
  20. Cleaned up the body that’s molded in blue. Painted it with Tamiya TS-54. Has about three coats of Testors clear. I was almost going to skip the polishing, as it came out pretty smooth. But, it’s gonna ser for another day or two before I start polishing.
  21. A kit I had in the stash that will just have the addition of drag radials, and plug wires, and that’s pretty much it. Pretty simplified kit to work on while taking a break from other builds.
  22. Also, the Lindberg floor pan in not ideal as it needed some work to have the wheels centered in the wheel openings. The front was fine, but the rear has the springs moved forward to make it centered. Then it required some rear wheel well work also. Probably not the best way to accomplish this, but it worked out pretty good. The styrene patch work is hidden by the rear tires.
  23. The Lindberg chassis has its flaws. One thing I dislike is the holes in the wheel backs are way bigger than the studs on the suspension components. Very finicky. This will be addressed with some new Evergreen rod. This will bring the rear slicks out closer to the wheel opening as well. Just a mock up to check the stance.
  24. Was planning on these Moebius 65 Plymouth wheels. But after modifying the backs to accept the Lindberg wheel backs, the wheels were way too far in. So I decided on using the steel rims.
  25. Got some time in on the Fury. Not a whole lot done, but at least there is some progress. Did some engine mock ups to get the carbs drilled, and the fuel system in place. I like to have everything in place, to avoid fit problems later on. Still have to decide on fuel filters, and the throttle linkage.
