I despise those pens. I’ve had them drip chrome on places I didn’t need it to be. Only use them for bumpers, where the sprue attaches, or if I remove a seam from a bumper, and touch ups. I have had dulling even after a week of drying. BMF the only way for me.

1969 A12 Roadrunner (I will need some advice)
Brutalform replied to Brutalform's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Thanks everyone. The car is finished, but I still have to do the decals. I have 68, and 70 decals, but no 69. The only decals I have are the hood scoop decals. I ordered a set from Keith Marks, so hopefully they’ll be here within a week or two. I was going to post it under glass, but I’ll just wait until I get the decals. -
There is one in evil bay right now for like $54 shipped.
-
Cool. Do you have the new Moebius Dyno Don car? I was wondering if the Moebius chassis could be used under the 64? The T Bolt could be used, but it’s my understanding that it needs a lot of mods.
-
Fantastic build Gerald. What did you use for the chassis? Thunderbolt? Like I said, I lost out on two of these kits, because they went for more than I was willing to pay at that time. Im going to keep my eyes open for one though.

eBay Duster listing.

I hear you. It’s not like you want to start something with someone you don’t even know, but when there is dishonesty, or even a simple mistake involved, I don’t see anything wrong with pointing it out. It proves beyond a shadow of a doubt, that that seller you were dealing with blatantly KNEW he was misleading, simply by the response he gave you. I just hate to see some younger guy in the hobby get “taken” and not even realizing it before it’s too late. I collect first editions novels of Stephen King. I run into this all the time. It bothers me, that, people will be selling a book club edition, as a first edition, which is worth only a couple of dollars, but are asking for six times over the worth of a real first edition that would have to be in fine to near fine condition to get the top dollar to begin with. Maybe we are just honest. I never put anything up for sale, hoping someone with no knowledge about it comes along and I can take advantage. -
You sure do love your Mopars. Looks fantastic. Love the color.

And whoever won it had to clearly see it’s not the 73 that’s on the box. -

I was going to message the seller and ask what was up with that AMT body? But decided not to, just go avoid an argument. -

Brutalform replied to Brutalform's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I had some “minor” back procedures done yesterday, but I got a little done here and there. Polished the clear on the new body, and finished the interior. Hopefully I’ll get the foiling, and decals done tomorrow, then final assembly. -
No, but I have thought about building the 64 Comet car. Just can’t find a 64 for a decent price. I lost two eBay auctions on the 64s a while back that I had bids on.
-
Am I missing something here? The actual model being displayed is a 71 Duster. Not the one on the MPC box. I can see the high price for that kit as they demand the money. But a 71 Duster??? Here is the eBay item number. 143278142982

What do you listen to while you build???
Brutalform replied to slusher's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Frank Zappa, almost exclusively. Or some sort of Jazz while building. Death metal, or metal in general, is sometimes listened to, but the more soothing, the better. Also, a Cuban cigar is in order after considerable time at the bench, or when a build is completed. -

Fantastic Peterbilt. Looks very realistic. -
Agree 200%. Nothing better than helping out others in our fantastic hobby. I always scroll through here just in case I can send someone that part they might need.
-
Wow. What a very nice looking model. I love the color scheme you used. I’m currently working on one of these, with a 426 max wedge. I hope mine looks half as nice as this one.
-
Did anyone see how much that eBay kit ended up going for? I forgot to look as I was in Atlantic City for the weekend.
-
Looks pretty good overall Greg. We all have a bad paint/clear day every now and then. You did a fantastic job on the engine detail. Are those decals on your hoses? That’s s real nice touch there. And you already know I like what you did with those wheels. Nice job.

Added a AMT box trailer. I wish I had more reflective tape for the sides. I only had enough for the ICC bar. -
Bill, have you come across ANY JoHan kits that weren’t as accurate as the 1:1 car? I’m pretty new to building JoHan cars.
-
I recently bought two JoHan kits. A 63 Fury, and a 62 Dart. Paid $50 for each one. Then after realizing the prices on the 62 Plymouth, and 63 Dodge, I went the resin route on these two. I couldn’t even find a 63 Dodge in styrene, let alone buy one.
-
Sorry about the triple post. Something is definitely wrong. It kept telling me I couldn’t post without waiting 17 seconds, and I tried posting three times, and it triple posted. I asked a moderator to remove the two.
-
I was surprised to see it get that high right out of the hole. The stating bid was $49.99, but it climbed pretty quick. I would like to get this kit sometime, but I just bought a valuable horror novel, so I’m tapped right now. What is your guess on the final price, Bill?

That’s what I was doing wrong. Thanks for the advice.
