  1. Thanks Steve and I totally agree with you and the other members that commented, that there are definitely issues with the body. I never let that bother me, I just build them anyway. Now... from what I’ve read on this forum, there is a Charger out there, where the roof and windows were off BIG TIME. I would just avoid that kit altogether, if the issue was that bad. If I’m not mistaken that kit was corrected though.
  2. Thanks Bill. Im really enthusiastic over these early Mopar builds. I kind of put five other builds on hold since I started playing with this car. I really should get my Roadrunner finished since it’s near completion. The JoHan kits are amazing as far as the body goes. I hope the resin kits from MCW are still the excellent quality since Dave sold the company. (Fingers crossed).
  3. After some trial fitting, and trimming, and adding a notch to each inner fender, everything seems to be fitting pretty nice. This is where it’s at now. More to come.
  4. The inner fender wells are a bit too tall as they are. So after a test fit, the top lip of the parts had to be removed.
  5. Had to carefully remove the molded radiator support from the body, so the 64 Dodge support can be modified and added.
  6. Not totally sure if this car will have the dog dish wheels, or the plain steel rims?
  7. Will still have to assemble the front and rear suspension to make sure the wheels are in the right spots and centered within the wheel wells. Looks good so far.
  8. First was getting the floor pan to fit into the JoHan body. Just a little trimming at each end was all that was needed. The cut off ends will be sanded smooth before painting.
  9. I’ve built a few later 60 cars, but I really would like to add a few of the early Max Wedge 413 and 426 cars. My back problems have kept me from the bench lately, but I’ve been messing around the last two days. Ive started on this JoHan 63 Fury, but I also have a JoHan 62 Dart 440, and I am also waiting on two resin cars to be delivered from MCW. I ordered a 1962 Plymouth Savoy sedan, and a 1963 Dodge 330 sedan from MCW. These two will have the fender well headers also. They should be arriving any day now. I plan on using the Lindberg 64 Color Me Gone kit for the chassis, suspension, and engines. All cars will also have Fireball Modelworks rims/ wheels. Here are a few pics of the Fury, that I started last night.
  10. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve been at the bench. Back pain is no fun. But, I painted the Roadrunner with Testors “Go Mango”, which was the closest thing I could find that looks like Vitamin C. There are about four coats of Testors clear on the body. Now just needs some micro polishing. Thanks Bill gtx6970 for supplying a grill. I just set the body and interior floor on the chassis to see how it will look. As soon as the polishing is done, final assembly is the next step.
  11. Bill was kind enough to supply me with a grill that I will be using (pic). This one fits like a charm. That resin one from Hart’s, would not fit no matter what was done to it. I compared it to the JoHan grills Bill sent, and something is definitely amiss. Even if I modified it to fit flush, it was so wide, the front fenders would be spread so far apart, the hood gaps would be terrible.
  12. Beautiful build. Every color on this model comes together nicely.
  13. The Lindberg Impala is priced very reasonable on eBay.
  14. Yes. Chris does a great job with the reviews. Can’t wait to see what is actually going to be included with the service truck. I do believe they can be pre ordered on model roundups website. I pre ordered the 65 Dyno Don comet. I’m still undecided on the truck kit, as I was disappointed with the 70 4x4 kit. Now that Fireball makes the conversion kit, it’s hard to find a 4x4 kit that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. I really have to start buying TWO of everything anymore.
  15. Stay away! He steals others work and re casts. Just looking at his feedback should be enough to decide. Also, I don’t think I could put my faith in anyone that spells, and forms sentences on a pre school level.
  16. Modelroundup is accepting pre orders for a few upcoming kits.
  17. I agree. And using Tamiya “rubber black” paint will make them look real.
  18. Looks fantastic. I’ve had that happen many times with Tamiya Maroon. I’ve had it happen with the paint, and other times it happens after the clear is layer down. I wonder if other colors do it, but it’s just not noticeable? Not really sure but the maroon really sticks out.
  19. He usually responds within a couple days. I just received decals from him about five days ago. Ive been buying from him for the past few months now.
  20. I’ve had this happen TOO MANY times.
  21. Amazing build. That interior looks fantastic. Great color combination on your Mopar. Seeing your build, makes me want to start mine.
  22. Looks like a great project. I can’t wait to see the color on it. When you get to the chassis, make sure the front spindles are PERFECTLY centered in the backing plate, by making sure the wheel fits it before the glue dries. There is just enough room for the rear of the wheel to fit in the recessed area, and if it’s off a hair, you won’t get the wheel on.
