  1. Thanks Mike. I ordered one last night.
  2. I saw a post by Mr Obsessive where he shows how to correct the body. I really don’t plan on getting into that right now. The AMT body obviously isn’t perfect, but it won’t bother me. Just like the Buick GN rear side windows, or the 90 Mustang LX roof line, they would have to be grossly out of proportion, before I’d consider correcting it.
  3. That’s a fine looking Mopar, Mike! I like your personalized plate. I had a resin grill, without the emblem, and it was too big. Even after sanding it was still big. Then it cracked in half. Apparently whoever made it, messed up. Funny thing is, I ordered the hood and seat, thinking that grill I had in my bin would slip right in. If I would have known I would have just ordered it then. Im going to order one tomorrow.
  4. Thanks Robert. Yep I would have missed it.
  5. Looks amazing, JC! It’s coming together nicely. I like your subtle details like the starter housing, and oil filter mount.
  6. Ahhhh I see it. Thanks Gene. That means less body work. I can deal with that.
  7. Now for the advice, from someone with more knowledge on Mopars than myself. I bought a bench seat with headrests, and a hood from Hart’s Parts. Beautiful parts by the way..... but the hood has a bulge in it before the scoop opening. All of the pics I’ve seen of this car do not show this feature. Was any of these cars produced with a hood like the one I have? Should I sand the bulge off?
  8. And I’ll have to remove the “GTX” from the grill unless I can grub another from somewhere.
  9. I have s set of Joseph’s (Fireball) 1/25 scale rims and redline tires. Not the same as the Superbee, as these are a one piece casting. I do like how the rears are slightly wider though. Just needs the red paint added.
  10. I removed the side trim from the AMT GTX body, deepened the panel lines, added panel line accent, and primed it.
  11. Since the Superbee is finished except for hood decals, I decided to get on with the Roadrunner I have started on the bench. The only extra details would be a distributor and wires. No carbs this time because the air cleaner will not be removable. Also no lift off good because I don’t have an extra. I would really be happy if it turned out to look like this car.
  12. Thanks Jon. Its Tamiya TS-21 Gold out of the can, with Testors lacquer cleat, and polished.
  13. Thanks David. The car is completed with the extra hood with the support legs. The only thing I’m waiting for is the “six pack” decals for the hood scoop. Otherwise I would have posted it “under glass” by now.
  14. It probably won’t happen for me again. I’m 53, out of work for over 2.5 years with a lot of back problems. I have trouble getting building time in, let alone maintaining a race car again.
  15. The only way to go for tuning an EFI with EPROMs. Many just go with a complete aftermarket ECM these days, not messing with chips. Like I said, it’s been quite a few years since I was tuning. I did a lot of it in the mid 2000s. A lot of the technology has changed.
  16. Very nice Maverick. The paint, and those wheels are perfect. I want to get one of these, but the price is out of reach for me right now. I’d even settle for a Comet.
  17. Yea things have changed a lot over the last decade. Turbo is the way to go. When I hit the lottery, I’d like to have a NRE build me a twin turbo Ford, for a big old Galaxie
  18. Probably even faster than high 9s. I’ve been out of racing for about 13 years now. I used to know that stuff off the top of my head. Lol
  19. Cool, that probably equates to high 9s to low 10s. I had a 92 Firebird Formula that ran 11.40s @ 122 with a 436 SBC EFI naturally aspirated. I did my own eprom tuning, with a wide band O2, and Tunercat. I drove mine to and from with the A/C on. I figured you would be crazy fast with that light of car. Stangs are cool cars. If I ever got back into it, I most likely do a Ford this time around.
  20. What kind of number did you run with it?
  21. Looking good, Terry. I’ll be following along this build. Can’t wait to see more.
  22. Thanks Nick. If I do the other hood, all I would need is the two “six pack” decals for the scoop.
  23. Thanks. Actually that splotch on the top is the tab that fastens it to the sheet metal.
  24. Haha. Good point. Those impulse buyers are out there, and some of these sellers know it.
  25. Ahh ok I didn’t know that. I assumed they were the wedge.
