Board Spam Attack

Exactly. Also as I stated above, “ I’m not sure what infractions he has”, but I’m sure he was most likely warned, more than once, before being banned. -

Probably anything opposite of what the forum rules say. -

When I was a moderator at another car forum, we had the same problem with a certain individual. He would keep coming back with a different username, but the IP address would always give him away. Its a shame when one must babysit an adult that prefers to be a keyboard warrior. I’m not sure what infractions he has but, he probably isn’t even s bad guy off the forums, but some people just get a little brave when on a forum, and not dealing with people face to face. -
Your Charger looks fantastic. The attention to detail really paid off on your build.

Thank you Bill... much appreciated. -
Sorry, I searched, but the info that Chris ( Mooneyzs) posted in the drag section is no longer viewable with the photobucket images. Just would like to know if anyone would be kind enough to tell me what .020, .040, .060 in 1/25 scale would be in 1:1 scale? Thanks....

The rims only need a little bit of clean up in the brake vent slots. Painted the front dust caps, and rear hubs. The lugs will be chrome. I’m going to let the weather break before I get into painting the rims themselves.

These rims and tires are beautiful to say the least. The tires have a thin groove that you must paint the redlines in. First apply white into the groove, then when dry apply flat red.

I’ve been enjoying Mopar building lately, and after completing a 65 Plymouth A990, and a 68 Roadrunner (which I still need to decal), I’ve been working on a 71 Duster bracket car, and this Monogram 69 Superbee. Marcos Cruz built this kit not too long ago, and it really blew me away and inspired me to build a similar one. I’ve ordered the 3x2 intake pieces, and the A12 wheel and redline tires, from Joseph (Fireball Modelworks). His parts are simply the best I’ve seen. I’ve ordered other parts as well for my future Mopar builds, like Mopar steel rims with dog dish caps, etc. This Superbee will not have a vinyl top though. Also I had to settle for Testors Mystic Emerald Lacquer from the can, as I don’t have an airbrush YET! So far I have the body painted, cleared, and polished, worked on the chassis, and I started to clean and detail the Fireball parts.

Very nice work, Steve. The engine looks fantastic. That solenoid looks really good too. Nice job on all the details you added to this kit. Pretty cool idea with the glass packs. Some guy wanted a throaty sound from his Galaxie, so he threw them on. Exhaust systems, especially the headers, and manifolds can be a pain. I keep black coffee stirrers on hand in case I need to make a quick driveshaft, or change the length. Looks like it’s all figured out.

Very nice build. I think the paint looks great! Engine also looks great. I have the 64 Petty Belvedere, but I’ve gotta get one of these kits as well. Nice Mopar.

I especially like the distributors. I have a few that I carefully cut the caps off, and add a MAD wired cap, then drill the advance for the vacuum hose. I have a few of those carbs in my bins. It doesn’t take much to make them look realistic. What did you use for that gold fuel rail? Is that brass/ aluminum tubing?
-
Very nice workmanship.
-
Everything is coming along nicely. If I remember correctly those carbs are the same in the 66 Fairlane 427 kit. They are the nicest kit supplied carbs IMO. Also the distributor has a nice vacuum advance that other kits lack. Can’t wait to see it completed.

Very nice, clean build. Foil looks fantastic, for a car that isn’t the easiest to foil. One of my favorite cars, and favorite kits.

Ebay prices dropping!!!!

No you are not cheap, just aware. The going rate to ship a kit anywhere in the Continental US, is about $9.00. That’s if you are shipping across the country. Much less if it is the next state over. Then you figure getting it to the post office, boxing, tape, etc. But $17 is s bit ridiculous, especially when they are most likely shipping more than one item. But many sellers do offer a flat rate. I’ve even had a money refunded to me, and have refunded money, to a buyer, if the shipping was considerably less. Just like anything “buyer beware”! If I can’t find it at the LHS, or locally anywhere first, I’ll search eBay. -

One other thing I’ve noticed that makes no sense to me.... is, an item will have a couple bids on it, and the same item will be available by another seller with “buy it now” for less than the item being bidded on. Both sellers will have 100% feedback, so I wonder why wouldn’t someone compare and go for the better deal? I bought a kit for $20 plus the $6 shipping, and the same exact item, with another seller, had 5 bids on it, and was already more than the $26 I spent. Makes me wonder if a friend of the seller is bidding to raise the price? -

There are sellers on there parting out kits, and charging $13 plus shipping for the tires and wheels. You can almost buy an entire kit for that. Ebay is alright ONLY if you are in search of that hard to find item, and you can get it at a reasonable price. IMO, EBay should be bidding only, and not “buy it now”. It’s not really an auction site anymore, but more of a scam. Even selling on EBay isn’t worth it anymore, because they figure their commission on the sale price, AND shipping. Totally unfair they take money for the boxing , packaging, and tape, and my gas from driving to the post office. I paid for all of that stuff, and to figure that into your final fee is a rip off. -

At $2299.99 I’ll take two. -
Thanks, so basically buy whatever is less expensive.

Thanks....Does anyone have any info on the MPC version of this car?

Yea, Wayne, when I zoomed in on the dog dish caps I noticed that. I did one of these years back except with Torque Thrust wheels. Yours got me wanting to build another one with a different approach. I just love these old Mopars, and big fast cars in general.

Very clean and detailed build. Nice job on the opening trunk. The dog dish hub caps are a great addition to it. What was the original color you painted it years ago?

Very nice build. Fantastic details.
