Well Snake... after reading your post, I just ordered myself the California Flash kit. Should be here in three days. Thanks for the idea ?

Steve Bagwell '65 Plymouth Super Stock WIP COMPLETE
Brutalform replied to Mister Twister's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Looking good. I gotta get me one of these kits. -
Hey Snake... there was a pretty recent article Tim Boyd did on a build up of these Moebius 65 kits in Scale Auto Mag. He used the A990 California Flash. Very nice project you have planned.
-
Now that’s what I’m talking about!!! Very cool build going on here. I know a lot of people don’t go for the tubbed out, pro street look, but nothing beats a 55 like it. I have one of these started, and stored away, that I should bring out, and actually finish.
-
Thanks for the kind words everyone. I appreciate it.
-
Thanks Curt... it’s Tamiya TS-58 Pearl Light Blue, sprayed from the can.
-
Does anyone know if there is a pre sale of this kit anywhere?
-
After realizing I had enough parts, including resin tail lights, to build a complete Fairlane from my extra parts, I finished this up yesterday. I scribed out the extra lines in the front grill to try to make it look like an actual 67. It’s not perfect, but it’s done.

Revell 1968 Chevy Chevelle SS 396...........My take
Brutalform replied to MrObsessive's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Exactly, Niko, we think alike. My plans for it will be, a brutally fast, small tired drag car, with a factory paint scheme, with no decals, except on the rear windows. Tracking indicates mine will arrive tomorrow. -
I’m just excited about the A/FX Comet that scheduled to be released in early 2019. A Maverick would be sweet though. I for one, would buy a few of them.
-
I’d definitely buy the Maverick. I’m constantly looking online and on eBay hoping to get one, even a glue bomb that I could rebuild. All too pricey though.
-
Really nice 57 you built there, Rick. Very clean. That red really pops.
-
Did you watch the video? There is some nice footage of the 427 engine.
-
-
For some reason, I can’t post a photo, but the 66 Fairlane 427 looks very similar to this one. Except the bird is molded where the orange “427” decal is, but could be sanded off.
-
Wow.. this is going to be a nice build. Just love big Fords. I’d love to get my hands on a 67, but a bit too pricey for me right now. Even IF I could find one. I’ve always used the AMT Starliner engine, or the parts from it I might need. It has the best looking fuel components, IMHO. That air cleaner looks similar to the AMT 66 Fairlane 427. I’ll definitely be following this one.

Moebius Ford 4x4

Thanks for the compliment. I bought them from Scenes Unlimited. -
Recommend better tires for my AMT '65 Galaxie
Brutalform replied to Monty's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Ahh I see you are having the same problem I am with my 65. The supplied slicks and white wall tires supplied just won’t cut it. Have you considered red line tires from AMT? I’m probably going to go this route, with steel rims, and the dog dish hub caps from the 66 Fairlane 427. -
I recently built the Ford 4x4 truck, and was reading how other forum members had warping problems from Moebius. I did not encounter these same problems. The word was that the kits were being placed in the box warm, and then cooling in a warped state. The trucks apparently had problems with the roof slightly warping, making the windshield difficult to install. I enjoyed the only two Moebius kits I built... I just wish the windows installed from the inside. You did a very nice job with the black trim around yours. Looks fantastic.
-
Nice job on your Melrose Missle. So the body was warped when you opened it?
-
This car looks perfect. Very clean build. The Thunderbolt is one of my all time favorite cars from the S/S era. I have 14 T Bolts completed, and this yellow Vogt car was my “Elenor” out of them all.
-
Looks fantastic. Those tail lights are a BIG improvement over the kit supplied lights. You don’t see many of these Chevelles turn out as nice as yours did. Nice work.

What paints are ok to use on resin?
Brutalform replied to Hotrod 97's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Couldn’t agree more on painting the parts thoroughly. I had a resin teardrop hood on a 64 Galaxie, and only painted the exposed surface, and after a few months, it curled up all around the edges. And this particular hood was not a thin casting, and it still curled up. -
Ok I looked on the other thread, it was misspelled on the 1:1 car. I knew I read it somewhere, that it wasn’t only misspelled on the Beswick model decal.
-
Ahhh now I remember something about the Jardine being incorrect, and if I’m not mistaken, possibly wrong on another kits decal too. My memory isn’t like it was 20 years ago. Reguardless, when this kit comes out, and since it’s a limited run, I’m definitely adding it to my stash. Maybe I’ll buy two. It’ll be nice building an A/FX without all the extras cutting.
