You can pretty much make any wheel work with a little modification. I always keep resin aftermarket “thin” wheelbacks on hand just in case. Moebius wheels are a one piece rim, that fits inside the hollow tire. You could modify the backside of the rim with wheelbacks from your parts bin, or the Coronet wheelbacks.. The easiest way in your case would be to modify the axles on the Coronet kit, to accept the Moebius wheels. This would most likely require grinding down the Moebius wheel hubs with a roto tool, like a Dremel. As far as being correct, maybe a knowledgeable Mopar person could chime in on that one.

I forget what I paid, I’m thinking $24.?

The stance is perfect IMO. I’ll be following this one.

Very nice Super Bee, Brian. Nice job on the wheels and redlines! I have two of these in my stash. One is the same as yours, the other is supercharged, molded in white. I plan on leaving the blue metallic Just as it is too. If you polish it with Novus #2, it will look amazing without paint.

You did it justice. Nice clean build. I’m glad this kit came out also. I was constantly looking on eBay, trying to find one. The prices were pretty high, and that’s only IF you were lucky enough to find one. Still undecided on how to build mine. Im looking forward to the new posts of the builds on this car, as people are starting to get them completed.

I finished this car up about a week ago. Just didn’t get a chance to get a few pics. Now it’s time to move on to the 68 Hemi Roadrunner, 69 Super Bee, and 69 Pro Street Roadrunner that are on the bench. I’d like to get the Mopars finished up before finishing the OTHER projects I have started on the bench. I seriously must stop buying kits, and just finish most of what I have. Since the new year, I bought four kits. I have about 70 kits in my stash, and I know that’s nothing compared to many other builders out there. So, the only thing I’ll be buying from now on, is paint, BMF, and the like.

A great color that you don’t see too often on these cars. Very tidy underhood work. I really like the interior details as well. Its nice to see one of these new releases completed, and not rushed. Fantastic build!!

Painting black areas in chrome rims
Brutalform replied to 64Comet404's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I sprayed these with a flat paint, and just used a cotton swab lightly moistened with 70% alcohol. (91% will remove the chrome). Then touched up the bolts and centers with a Molotow pen. -

Even though the initial plan got sidetracked, still looks pretty darn good to me. -

Man, sorry to hear about your mishap, but as long as you are ok with it, is all that matters. I recently had issues with certain paint and clear compatibility. There is a thread in Model Building Question And Answer board on it. Now after learning what I have, I’ll never stray away from what works. I’ve had paint jobs work out, then all of a sudden, they all went bad. I think it looks fine with the cover resting on it. Not a waste by any means. -
Gregg's Status
Brutalform replied to Dave Ambrose's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Gregg, get well soon. I hope the stimulation device works for you. I recently had that option, that I decided not to test it. I’ve had decompression surgery, and radio frequency nerve burns, and too many injections to count. It’s not fun living in pain. Also a big thanks to you for your help in keeping this hobby what it is. -
That interior turned out fantastic, Steve. Just love the colors. That steering wheel was always the first thing you notice in a 67, and you nailed it perfectly.

That’s going to look awesome. Those are some really nice looking wheels. Perfect for this car.

I do believe they also have a “dark” brown in addition to the brown. I did use the black on the firewall, fenderwells, and undercarriage. And I used the brown on the interior parts. On the undercarriage, after I cleaned it up with a Q Tip, and enamel thinner, I gave it another mist coat of Racing White paint. I’m still new to this so I’m trying different things.

Went to the LHS this morning and bought some more Racing White paint, and assembled the rest of the interior. I have look to find a decent tach for the dash top. There is something on the chrome tree that resembles at tach, but no mention of it in the instructions. Also got a few coats of primer on the body. Probably will get the color on in a day or two.

Thanks Steve....

Thanks Niko!! Yes it is the Tamiya accent. It’s pretty new to me. I discovered another tool to add to my builds. I bought black, brown, and gray. I should have went a tad lighter on the fender wells, but there is always next time. I’d like to buy some weathering powder soon too. I recently just started dry brushing parts. You really can learn a lot on these boards.

Thank you Darryl.

Oh, not at all. I appreciate the advice. I’m going to be 53, and as an X drag racer, I still like to learn. Everyone has an automobile make they really know their stuff about. I’m a GM guy myself, but must admit that I love building Fords most of all, but now I’m on this Mopar kick. I take all constructive criticism as a learning aid so I can do my next build even better.

Don’t know how I missed this one?? Excellent paint! That color looks great on this car. Nice engine details.

Worked on the Plymouth for a few hours today. Now it’s a rolling chassis. One recommendation to anyone that hasn’t built this kit yet, put the backing plates onto the rear axle and front spindles BEFORE they are installed. Especially the spindles. Don’t follow the instructions on this part. I thought for sure I would snap one but I was lucky. I had to hone out the little sleeves with a round file. I’m just happy they didn’t snap Tommorow the interior, and a trip to the LHS for some paint, to get the body finished. The next one I build I will definitely paint that sub frame body color.

Revell Mustang LX Question
Brutalform replied to oldcarfan's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Gary, the dragcar is an excellent kit IMO. I built the drag version with a lot of leftover stock parts. -
Very nice work. I’ll be following this one.
