Thank you everyone I really appreciate it.

I used Plasti Kote gray primer. I wanted to darken the red a bit. Didn't plan on having a "correct" looks T Bolt with this car. Not saying the other one is going to be correct, but a closer color to what they came with. Then sprayed Model Master Flame Red base, and clear. It's that two part lacquer system.

Oh and the ridiculous looking headers also, I forgot to mention.

Thanks for the kind words. Yes it is a resin hood I found on eBay, for a couple of dollars. Actually I have a 63, and a 64 hood in my parts. Reason is, I'm not very happy the way this 63 turned out. First, I rushed the build, running out of BMF, and going over the side trim with a silver marker. (Ouch)! Then, the engine is a 427 SOHC from the Shelby kit. The engine looks ok I guess, but it sits a bit tilted, but the real problem is the plug wires. Not realizing when I added them, the boots should be more "flush" going in to the covers. Like a dummy, I have long boots like on conventional heads. I'll post a pic up today. Since I have another interior and kit, hood, etc, I'd figure I go another round at it not making my same mistakes. But if you check out online, I'm sure you can find the hood you want.

Thanks, the color is a 1966 color, according to the can. Nassau Blue Metallic. Model Master two part.

I used Dull Coat on all tires.

And the engine and wheels for the red car. Waiting for some tan color wire to arrive to do the Accel plug boots. I was thinking of painting the spokes of these wheels a flat aluminum color, to get rid of the shininess.

Thanks, John. Did a little work today on the white car. Still waiting for BMF to arrive. Should be here tomorrow. Sprayed the white car Racing White Tamiya. Also got just about everything painted except the interiors of both cars. Here is a couple pics of the white car, with its wheels, and engine.

Thanks for the help everyone. Thanks Chris. That's exactly what I'm looking for. They are on the way. -
Oh, I see what you mean. It says Hurst Dual Pattern Floor Shift, and I have the "H" incorrect. Thanks. I have a Fred caddy decal lying around. Ill have to change it when I get a chance.

Thanks, I don't recall applying any Hurst decals.

Decided to do a pair of Thunderbolts. One is painted Model Master Flame Red. The other will be Wimbeldon White, or Racing White. The red one is pretty much ready to go together. The interior will be Champagne, with some tan mixed in to break it up. I painted the car, and cleared it, and it ended up with a bit of orange peel. I Micro Meshed it down from 3200 to 12000. and then polished it with Novus 2, then Novus 1. You can still see some peel close to the rear window molding, that I didn't want to sand too close to. (See pics). Started foiling it, but hopefully some more BMF arrives tomorrow. Any comments on the orange peel situation are welcomed. I think it should look ok.

Something for the Blue Oval crowd. I'm sure most of you already know about these books, but I figured I post them anyway in case someone might find the info useful. The Total Performers book has lots of pics of Thunderbolts, Mustangs, all through the 60s and early 70s. Also, MANY color pics. In the Full Size Ford book, there is just about every spec in here on all the big cars. In the back it has all the correct paint codes. it even tells the trim and interior availabilities. The only thing is this one is in black and white.

I've been off work with a back injury. So I thought I would get some pics up. I finished this several weeks ago, but was building some others and didn't get time to post pics. I've several more builds Ill post. I'm not the best photographer, so in the future I plan on buying some large poster board, and a few desk lamps, to see if that helps.

The last hobby/train shop in my area is closed. I'm just grateful my local hardware store, where I go now carries kits, all Tamiya paints, X-Acto, etc. He has no wire this size. -
Thank you for the replies. I just ordered up some white and red Detailer Wash. I have seen red on some white cars as well.
