  1. This sound real good! I can't wait to see more.
  2. Nice work! The kit's interior door panels are actually somewhat accurate. I'm surprised you are doing extra work to make new ones. Though they do look nice.
  3. I'm more concerned with the gold stripes printed on black. I can't see how the black won't show different on paint.
  4. I'll have to get the Trans Am decals somewhere else. I'm not sure how the gold stripes printed on black will look when it's painted black. The black on the decals might not match the black paint. Keith Marks has the gold Trans Am decals which should fit the Revell kit. I believe they were designed for the MPC Blackbird kit.
  5. Even the kits being made now have the front Georgia flag plate?
  6. Does the current Revell Smokey And The Bandit '77 Pontiac Firebird's decal sheet have the front Georgia plate? Are the decals any good? I seem to remember seeing the decals and the gold stripes and 'Firebird' were on a black background. This seems kind of odd if the model is going to be painted black anyway. Can someone post a picture of the kit's decals?
  7. I can't see the pictures either.
  8. Mike, This is a beautiful build! I was also hesitant to get one of these Revell Smokey And The Bandit Trans Am kits because of the box art. Now seeing yours I really like the kit. I'm going to order one of these.
  9. How is Little Motor Kar Company?
  10. How is Chrome Tech's quality?
  11. Who does the best quality chrome plating?
  12. Doug, I believe Model Car World(MCW) has Sierra Gold. Mike.
  13. Thanks for posting the pictures! I remember following the blue van build. That was a fun build to watch.
  14. Thanks, I'll give their paint a try. Do you have any pictures of your cars painted with it?
  15. I might try some paint from Paintscratch.com. It says on their website it's Universal Basecoat and handles like lacquer paint. They say to thin it with lacquer thinner? Is this paint any good for airbrushing? Are the Paintscratch colors authentic factory colors?
  16. This aluminum one in the above picture looks like the one from X-Acto. Has anyone used the Zona thin slot aluminum miter box? https://www.zonatool.net/shop/zona-razor-saws-miter-boxes/thin-slot-miter-box/
  17. Zona makes a thin slot aluminum miter box. Has anyone used this one? The thin slots should hold a razor saw better. https://www.zonatool.net/shop/zona-razor-saws-miter-boxes/thin-slot-miter-box/
  18. The Easy Miter Box from Midwest says it's injection molded. It's either the X-Acto or the Miter Rite from Micro Mark. I was looking for a more affordable option but the Miter Rite looks real nice.
  19. I see there are some economically priced miter boxes from X-Acto, Midwest and Zona. Are these any good? The Easy Miter Box from Midwest looks nice.
  20. Futurattraction.com has a really nice B&M Pro Stick shifter that's resin and photoetch. 2 shifters come in the pack for a great price too.
  21. Chris, Excellent review! You were informative and kept it moving along. I wish all reviews were this good. It seems like a nice kit but a bit too toy-like but I'm sure that's what Revell is going for. I have a Polar Lights Mystery Machine I just finished that I'll post some pictures of soon. Now having seen the Revell Mystery Machine I feel the shape of the original tooled Polar Lights kit looks a bit closer to how it looked on the cartoon. However I do like that the rear doors aren't hinged on the Revell kit. When I built mine I sealed the doors closed to look less toy-like. Maybe the Mystery Machine was a lighter blue-green color in later episodes but in the original Scooby Do Where Are You series it was a darker blue, even in the daytime shots. Toys and models of the Mystery Machine always seem to be a light blue-green color.
  22. What brand of primer did you use? I used Duplicolor Filler Primer and was able to start sanding later the same day. I used 400 grit wet/dry paper.
  23. I had a little problem with the paint and had to strip the body. I'm waiting for the new paint to arrive. The hood and trunk are OK so I didn't strip those. As soon as the paint arrives I'll paint the body and put the decals on.
  24. I just found this one! You are doing an excellent job on this Walter! Any updates?
