Mad Max Interceptor
57peppershaker replied to 57peppershaker's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Its a complete kit George, based on the Aussie Falcon. Its kinda based on the 2nd movie car, spare fuel tanks sticking out the back ect but its got the full front that was smashed off when Max rear ended the bad guys a few mins into the start of the film. The conversion kit, converted into more like the 1st movie car ie rear window & deck, passenger & rear seat ect. Its a real shame these resin parts are no longer available or somebody else cant produce them. The Aoshima kits are not cheap now & were produced in a few slightly different versions. One including Max's dog ect, currently on ebay for $99. More great info here http://www.madmaxmov...kits/index.html -

Thanks Kevin, maybe my memory isnt as bad as I thought ? Sounds like the parts I saw, be good to see a pic of it all. Prob a slim chance of the guy still living there, shame he stopped making them. -
That Nomad comes in a lovely colour . . . . I sold my 1;16 57's a while back to fund more 1;25's

What do you store your equipment in?
57peppershaker replied to '08SEAL's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
WOW looks like you guys have a lot more space in the US than we do in the UK ! My spray cans are in a cupboard in my garage, most of my tools / jar paints ect are in a craft box thats in the house until my wife finds it ! I do have worktops, seat, radio, beer fridge ect in the garage but its too cold up there this time of year, so builds are done on the dining room table (hence slow build rate) My spare parts were kept in 3 plastic storage boxes but they are £15 - 20 each. Just picked up some plastic business card boxes & a larger crate to keep them in, for a lot cheaper. I can now find everything ! -

Glad its not just me then Mark. The other cars are availible from Comet Minatures here in the UK, for £60 - 70 !! Too expensive for me. -
Ive had a Aoshima Mad Max Interceptor for years & its sat in my stash. Prob is, it kinda seems an inbetween kit, not the 1st movie car & in its box stock form, only appeared in the 2nd movie for a few minutes. I'm sure I've seen resin parts, to convert it to the 1st movie car somewhere. Are they long gong, or does anybody still make them ?
-
Bought maybe 10, got a few foc, started building 4 and finished a big fat zero ! Too many idea's, too many new very good kits coming out, too many 'bargains' on ebay & just not enough time to build them Still, might be different this year . . . . . .

57peppershaker replied to 57peppershaker's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Just to add a curve ball, what about building a 2008 Cobra Super Jet ? Bullit body with Shelby running gear ? Any idea who makes the wheels ect ? -

Revell Mustang question ?
57peppershaker posted a topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
One of my planned builds this year (gotta finish last years yet) is A revell 08 Bullit Mustang. I'm planning a modded Bullit, big brakes (colour coded calipers), supercharger, roll bar (colour coded) ect ect. How much does the Bullit kit share with the 07 GT 500 ? Are the Shelby brakes bigger than the Bullit ? Any other differences apart from the engine, which I plan to use in the Bullit ? I dont have the GT500 kit yet, so wondering if its worth buying or to go with resin parts ect ? -
Show ya Plymouth Duster funny cars
57peppershaker replied to 57peppershaker's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Thanks Brett, nice Cop Out. Wasnt this a popular kit ? Or just not many built it ? -
Anybody built the older Plymouth Duster funny car ? The older, Mongoose / Cop Out version. Looked through Google ect & dont bring up much, so want to see some pics, however you built it. I've got a Cop Out version & the police stuff has gone to a 57 Chevy (plum Crazy) version of Cop Out. I was going to build the Duster as Plum Crazy but after seeing the red Mongoose box art might change my mind.

Had a real good day. Postman brought the Cop Out & Crown Vic cop car, both new cheap ebay kits. I traded a couple of diecast for a used kit collection, which arrived after waiting about 4 weeks. Wasnt 100% sure what was there BUT was pleased when I unpacked it all, was about 20 salvagable kits; Revell Anglia Yodel 78 Dodge Monaco (wish it woulda been a Fury) 3 x Ford Sierra Cosworths Ford Sierra XR4i Ford Escort XR3i Johan 62 Caddy Ford Escort mk2 77 Trans Am 58 Impala 57 Fairlane 39 Ford coupe Gulf Porsche Miami Vice Ferrari Porche 911 Nissan 280 ZX VW Beetle 63 Corvette 67 Camaro 70's Vette 65 (?) Fairlaine MK1 VW Golf Plus large bag of wheels n tyres, large bag of engines, large bag of spares box fodder / random spares & a few hoods / parts thats gonna keep me awake trying to work out what they are from ! Not a bad friday.

Best place to store resin bodys
57peppershaker replied to 57peppershaker's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Cooler ? I live in England, its not too warm up there in December lol Thats not a bad point ! Just gotta finish all those . . . . . Thanks for all your advice & offers to store them in your house Might have to smuggle them into the house & hope my wife dont see 'em. -
I built 1 about 15 years ago, do have a few glitch's in there. Built it as a 69 Charger 500 in the end. The kit I had, had the 500 grill in there too.
-
Ive got some resin bodys along with kits stored in plastic crates in the attic. The crates are dustproof & moisture resistant with bags of silca gel inside. Its getting cold up there at the moment. When I looked at a resin body the other eve, if felt 'soft' ?? Are they ok to keep up there or should they be kept at room temparature if possible ?

How Do You Use Your Decals?
57peppershaker replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hey Doc, your model, your decals & your call ! How boring would it be if we all built as the pic on the box ? I've got mine stored in photograph albums, waiting for Junior stock / Gasser / phantom builds as & when I get round to them. A 57 Chevy 'Plum Crazy' f/c done as 'Cop Out'. And 'Cop Out' done purple with Plum Crazy decals -
Build the 'new' 55 as the cars on the old box art. Best of both worlds. Waiting in my line, is a 'new' 57 Chevy Pepper Shaker. New Revell bel air sedan, as the 210 on the AMT box art. The old kits were great in there day, but they are 40 odd years old ! They make great beaters / wrecks / workshop projects ect. I sold on one of the new 55's after swopping the wheels. After seeing that 55 2 car box art, wish I woulda kept it !
-
Both the 1;25 & the 1;1 look fantastic ! Wish my 1;1 was a LX instead of a GT. Not a big fan of body kits.

Fantastic !
