  1. Great build, love the figure & helmet details
  2. 57 150's came with that trim. Great colours & wheels, what are they from ?
  3. Did you make the decals yourself ? With the 70 being re-released I'd be very interested in buying decals to build this.
  4. Is there a release date yet ? Anybody know what the 4 Police agency decals will be ? Have to add a couple to my stash . . . . .
  5. WOW thats looking good ! Got a friend who has a 1;1 base 55 wagon, who will be very interested how this is finished. I'm doing a 1;24 57 Sedan Delivery as a junior stock.
  6. Yup thats the one, thanks for the reply Phil. Maybe just not a popular hauler to build ? Cant find any built pics anywhere.
  7. I keep seeing a resin 55-57 extended cab car hauler on ebay, has anybody bought / built one ? Good / bad quality ? Whats the best donor kit to source running gear from ? Any pics of a finished one would be good.
  8. Thanks for link Jeff, but not there. Cant believe nobody has this set. Must be rare as hens teeth !
  9. Looks like a 1;1 !! Fantastic
  10. How comes this 57 kit has been around for nearly 50 years, but a fresh built one can still knock ya socks off ! Looks like a built out the box Paul (?) but I love it !
  11. Its 1;25th scale so its BIG ! Spencer, who built it, said he watched the start of the movie about 200 times to get the details right. It was entered in a contest back in early 90's but never won a prize.
  12. Thanks for link TooOld, very helpfull. I remember seeing the mag advertised, but its not avail off the shelf here in UK & promptly forgot about it (might be an age thing !) I couldnt find anything on Ebay for the Race team Casey. Have you got an item number ? Any pics from the box art would help, for van details ect. The Red Alert kit was a 72, but the 1;1 a 70. I've got an old untouched AMT Matchbox 72 Chevelle that I'll use (both my AMT & Monogram 70's have been part built) Along with an AMT 911 Ambulance & trailer from Diamond in the Rough kit. Just need 2 sets of decals from Decals by Lucas, or is there a better set ?
  13. Has anybody got a Red Alert racing team in their stash ? Could you post pics of the box arts ? Whats the best kit to use for the Chevelle, AMT or Monogram ? What was the van in the kit ? Has it been re-issued ? I've tried google etc but only brings up tiny pics, so cant see any detail.
  14. Ok, modern as in modern fuel injected big block. Already robbed few Vettes of LS1's. I'll look out for an Impala & a pic would help get the right kit. Check out VCG too I've got many 57 Chevy's in various states of build & looking for different engines for them.
  15. Its not my build George, but the sign was made from warmed up sprue, bent to shap & then filled & painted. It was built about 20 years ago ! Kinda looks like its been snowing at Mels lol
  16. Great looking build. How different they look with just a single roof light instead of a full width one.
  17. Thought best put these in a new thread. Guy I know, Rick bought this last year, from the guy who originaly built it. Its been gathering dust for a long time. When built, 2 door sedan 55's were not avail so he used a coupe, same with few other bits but I think it looks great (except for dust) He's planning a make over to bring it back to its former glory.
  18. Somebody I know bought this, after it had sat for many years. Pics moved to own thread, so not to hijack.
  19. What kits come with modern Chevy big blocks ? I know the AMT 454SS pick up has, but anything else ?
  20. 1 in your pic is the seprate framed one, it also has an opening trunk. The Street Machine version of this has a 4 linked rear, wider rear tubs & fuel cell in trunk. The 1 piece chassis cars dont have an opening trunk. This is the old tooling with decal bel air inserts. Hope this helps.
  21. The other cabinet is 400 x 550mm so a bit better. The garage is full of 1;1 57 Chevy but got me thinking about maybe adding a display case ontop of the worktop in there. Maybe 1200 x 600. A front facade maybe another idea.
  22. Thanks for the info Christian, and the offer of your book. Sounds like its full of ideas to get my head buzzing ! I'm in Kent & other than Hobby Craft, I'll have a search for others. Working for a building / decorating contractors helps for mdf etc. Unfortunatly I'm limited to display space. Most of my models are in kitchen cupboard carcases in my garage, so only about 200mm deep x 600-1000mm. I have a bigger display unit in the dining room.
  23. W O W ! How big is the complete display ?
  24. Ha ha ha, thats great. Hope he gets out before the truck arrives !
  25. Hi Guys Had an idea buzzing around in my head for a basic roadside diner building, mainly to use as a backdrop etc. Has anybody got plans or something I can use as a guide ? Any info on what materials, thickness's etc to use would be a great help. Thanks
