It was quite smart in its day, light blue with a black vinyl roof with mk3 Capri alloy wheels. I also fitted a RS2000 rear spoiler on the boot (trunk). They have torsion bars to help them open. As the spoiler provides extra weight, you have to climb in the boot with a flashlight & a friend close the lid, or you can never adjust the darn things to a higher setting ! A good friend will open it again lol
A (richer) friend had a red mk2 RS2000 that I always wanted to own, but never did.
Shay's right about that front grill. Mine was also a 1975 car, as the one in Shay's pic. Only the later Escorts (I think after 1977 ?) got the Ford oval badge in the grill rather than the 4 FORD letters.
Believe it or not butrestored mk2 Escort Mexico's & RS2000's (not RS1800's) are worth around the same price as some Tri Chevys here in the UK !
