Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am
57peppershaker replied to Trans Am Erik's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Congrats on finishing your dream car Erik. A very nice car, great feeling isnt it. I waited 20 years before buying my 57 Chevy, & like you 6 to build it. Tho looking at your build pics, mine had a lot more rust lol. -
Ever had 2 sets of the same decals, combined them to make a new logo etc & wondered what to do with the left over letters, to make a new logo ? I had 2 sets of Pepper Shaker decals, used the S from 2nd set to make 'Pepper Shakers'. So what to do with Pepper haker ? As the letters where all upper case, I came up with 'Reaper' You can see what I mean. Anybody else done the same ? What ya come up with ?

57peppershaker replied to 57peppershaker's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks Danno, but looking for more modern stuff. (tho sown a seed for that 57 Chevy Taxi . . . . .) -
Holy smoley !!! Thats some collection ! Now, with all those 1;1 Monacos & all those 1;25 Monacos, you must have built reps of them ? Tho saying that, I've got 60 odd 57s & still not STARTED a 1;25 of my 1;1 !! Any more pics / info on the beater in your 1st pic ? Funny, always think of them as 4 doors. Seeing a 2 door, it seems kinda odd.

Chase-cars; How do they fair on the track ? I seem to remember Ford Escorts & stuff from when I was a kid, would always loose bumpers (fenders) etc when they flew off the track. tvandmoviecars; How many have you built ? Seeing your line up of 'waiting to be builts', looks like your a big fan of them. Keep the pics coming everybody !

Don Doesnt look much wrong with that bodywork ! You must have a bigger garage than me ! Great 1;1's & 1;25's lol

Time to wake this thread up again. There's been several Monaco's finished lately, so c'mon guys add your pics. These are not mine, I found them a French (I think) site, Kustom Kruisers. As I cant read French, its difficult to get more info. I'll let the pics speak for themselves.

57peppershaker replied to 57peppershaker's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Thanks Casey, too big for what I want. Looking for 18" 5 spokes, any ideas ? -
Can anybody give me info on the custom large diameter wheels in this kit ? Are they ARE 5 spokes & any idea of a real scale diameter ? Looking to use them on a 57 150 sedan Pics would be a help.

amt's tin box version of the 57 chevy
57peppershaker replied to MachinistMark's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Its the pro shop kit & parts, in a new tin. Nice kit but dont pay daft prices unless your a collector. Shame they didnt put the pepper shaker kit in a tin . . . . . -
Does anybody cast, or know where to source large diameter, 18" or 20" steel wheels in 1;25th ? I've always thought about a 'modern' version of the 57 Chevy 150 Black Widow, but just 1 of those idea's kicking about in my head. Bought this months Street Rodder magazine & there it is in 1;1 scale ! The concept by Chip Foose has more body mods than I was thinking (ya cant mess with perfection !). Brings to life kinda what I was visualising.

The Cars of Rock 'n' Roll and Country Music
57peppershaker replied to CorvairJim's topic in Community Builds
Fine with me Jim, unfortunatly its been a while since I worked on the 32. But I was lucky enough to source a complete Hemi (big thanks to Rick Schmidt). I must try & find time to complete it. Be good to see how Nick's idea's compare with mine. -
Your favourite Box art
57peppershaker replied to HotRodaSaurus's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It a Yodel Dodge Monaco. I'm planning to build a copy but using the AMT kit. There was a thread, but it was mixed in with another. Look under 'Kit reviews' - Yodel Ameriacan Police cars. -
I just ask them to Pay It Forward
57peppershaker replied to a topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Good valid point ! I've been help out, Nick the T tops are yours ! -
I bought / built / collected 57 Chevy 2 door coupes, but went and bought a 1;1 2 door sedan ! Always prefered the sedan look but only coupes (apart from MPC flip front sedan) were tooled, so had to make do. Thanks Revell for coming to my rescue, but what am I gonna do with 100 issues of coupes lol Always try to build models of my 1;1's, 57, 95 Camaro, Fox Mustangs & 85 Caprice (nobody bothers with Ford Mondeo's & other UK dailys) but it wouldnt sway my choice of 1;1 purchase.

Thats why I want to build an AMT of the Yodel box art. Shame the Force 440 lightbars are scarce now. -

Yodel American Police series
57peppershaker replied to ABC Auto Industry's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Does the box show any different pics, other than the 1 I posted ? Be good to see a rear shot. Thanks for heads up on the Lindberg / Monogram wheels. Anybody know if they are big n littles ? Yodel wheels all look same size, but rears look wider on boxart. The link that Casey posted lists 5 different Monaco / Fury editions; -California Highway Patrol -New York City Police Department -Los Angeles Police Department -San Diego County Sheriff's Department -New York/New Jersey Port Authority The 2 plain wrappers make 7. Anybody know of any more ? Cool 1;1 pic too Junkman -
Yodel American Police series
57peppershaker replied to ABC Auto Industry's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Thanks Junkman, thats exactly what I was looking for. Didnt know they did a plain Plymouth either ! I've got a Yodel Police Monaco but its got a damaged / missing A pillar. Most of the goood parts will go on an AMT. Now to start hunting for similar wheels . . . . . Any idea's where to start ? (apart from a Yodel kit lol) -
Yodel American Police series
57peppershaker replied to ABC Auto Industry's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
While surfing the web for Dodge Monaco info, I came accross the box art & instructions for this Yodel Dodge Monaco I think this box art looks fantastic ! I've seen the Police issues before but never this one. It hasnt got any cop stuff in it but bucket seats, sports steering wheel & rear spoiler. Also what look like mag wheels. As Yodel kits are too expensive for what they are, & assume this issue is rare ? I want to replicate this box art using an AMT Monaco. Has anybody got this kit in their collection ? If so, could you post pics of the wheels, seats, steering wheel & spoiler ? The instructions are drawn, so lack detail.
