Thanks for posting Andrew. Yup, I'm the guy that contacted Rick of decals by Lucas. Here's 1 of the other 57's Super Pumpkin (not the best pic) A famous car that raced in the 70's in the UK. Was very quick, running 10's back then. I'm having trouble loading the other pics due to not having image hosting. Maybe Andrew can help me out, until I get it sorted. -
1957er Chevy Bel Air - "Roling Restauration"

FANTASTIC ! Great details, junk , rust ect. Love the gas filler door detail. Where did the bottles & junk come from ? Prob the only way to build these p.i.t.a. old Revell kits. I've got a 1;1 57 that had similar rust ! Now, 1;1 Fireball Roberts hood, fender & door = Priceless $$$$$ -

Only 3 ? Tough 57 Chevy 210 2 door sedan. Already got this one, tho if money was no object, I'd put an Art Morrison modern chassis under it. 69 Plymouth Road Runner. Have to be a big block, built for the strip. 08 Ford Mustang Bullit. Add a supercharger & a few mods, & take it to a track with curves. Off to do a lotto ticket now ! -
I built kits as a kit, but cant really remember what they was, planes, tanks ect. Had a busted leg from a motorbike crash when I was 18 & a friend bought me a kit to do, as I was bored. That AMT 57 Chevy kit had a lasting impression ! Got hooked on 57 Chevys, leading to a 1;1 scale 20 years later. Also got me into other kits & been building ever since, tho dont find as much yime as i'd like.

I've been looking for some Dukes of Hazzard decals, to make some of the other cop cars that appeared in episodes. Chickshaw County, Fitchburg County ect. I found Hazzardous Decals via Google. Are they any good ? They also list General Lee & Rosco decals. Is there much of a difference between the kit supplied decals ? I've read the the colours in the kit decals are incorrect for the G.L. but what about Rosco's ? I've got a set of original Rosco MPC decals & repop MPC kits are in the post at the moment.

Great build. What are the wheels & tyres from ?

Fantastic engine & gearbox detailing, looks like you could display that on a stand, on it own. Looks a great build Niko. I'll have to check out your 57 Chevy. The primer car looks great too, love the tyre marks. I nearly bought 1 of these kits, but ended up with a Charger instead. Once I get paid again, I'm going for the Hemi Dart.

Ok, the daily is a Ford Mondeo estate. The semi daily is this, 91 Mustang GT, 302 auto & the weekend car, when the suns out & I can afford the gas, is a 57 Chevy Fresh out this year after a 6 year build. Too many mods to list ! -
Just found this, looks fantastic ! What are the wheels & tyres from ? Any other mods ? I built one similar years back (colour coded bumpers ect) in white. Was gonna rebuild it as a cop car, but might change my mind, looking at your Monaco.

Hi Erik Sure I'm not the only 1 who would like to see more pics. Wish I had the skills & time to do something like that.

Hmmmmm, good news on both kits but . . . . . food for thought if you dont do stock ! The London bus was chopped 24" from both decks by the Smoke City Wheelers car club, I think back in the 80's. They drove it everywhere until they sold it a few years back. Last heard, it had been restored to a stock bus. The Taxi Rod is just too cool. Its driven daily by the owner that lives in London. It runs a 3.5ltr Rover V8. I'll try & get more pics. He's latest project is a Taxi pick up ! Now, where can I get a Taxi kit . . . . .

Thats a cool build. I did find this pic on the net, but not many others.

Anybody else built a 58 Plymouth into 'Christine' & used it as a diarama scene ? Be good to see pics. Finally picked up a Pro Shop 58 Plymouth pre-painted in Christine red (so hopefully a quick build). Been on my want list for years, to pair with a Dodge Charger I built years ago as Dennis's car. Planning a simple scene of Dennis scratching 'Darnels tonight' into Christines hood, with the Charger parked next to it & Leigh in the passeger seat. Love to do the Catterpillar driving over Christine but aint got the skill, time or patience !

1;1 Chevy Caprice rep
57peppershaker replied to 57peppershaker's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks for all the info, I thought I'd seen one & will be heading over to the Modelhaus site. An '85 will be close enough. Yours looks a lot better than mine Junkman ! It looks like its been painted by Ray Charles with a yard broom At least I wont have to worry about the paint finish lol
