  1. great looking impala and a great way honor ones memory. keep up the great work.
  2. i decided to take a break from the 510. kinda burning me out, gotta keep it fun. so i saw this one and said what the heck, lets do something. just a couple of pics as there really isn't much progress yet. i dont really know what im doing, so it's all up in the air right now. give ya an idea of where im looking to go with it. flat head of course. this was given to me by a friend. if i can't find the other flat head i thought i had, im gonna strip this one and start again.
  3. hey jose, those are some 15" watanabe's. i added some more lip to them. they are originally for an ae86 coupe i have in on the side. they actually dont look too bad on there.
  4. ooh nice work man. im liking the way it's looking. i like that, no comments needed for posting. i totally agree with you.
  5. well, im actually following this one on spc.. i like them too, only one i have from like 10 years ago. its no where near done, i might strip the paint off cause it was painted before i started using sand paper.. i was just messing with some wheels i was working on at that moment. by the way, dont worry about the lack of comments. they are looking. i still post up my projects, i know most are not into it, but they still look..
  6. nice, i thought it looked like bandage tape. i have some, but it doesn't looks this good when cut into strips. thanks
  7. looks good. what do you use for wrapping and bag material?
  8. intresting choice in project. looking forward to some more progress. soo, when are you gonna bust out an old school j-tin project?? id like to see what you do with one of them.
  9. that paint idea is insane! i can picture it already. trans looks good. it is a shame to cover up such great detail. although it wont be seen by others, you know it's there and thats what counts..
  10. when you have the body painted and about to put it on the chassis and all a sudden you remember that you forgot about the mirrors!! usually the outer ones.. usually on older jap kits the mirrors are mounted on the fenders and require drilling.
  11. dont know how i missed this one. this looks great. all the colors flow with each other. dig it man, looking forward to more.
  12. i gotta agree with everyone, this is very cool and to think you got several builds out of one box is even cooler.
  13. amazing john. i was hanging out with my nephew yesterday and had to show him some of the builds on here. when i got to your build, his jaw just dropped. but when he saw your caddy build in the "under glass" section, he actually thought it was a real car at first (cause of your photo taking) i was like nah man, it a model car... looking forward to the finished pics and the next WIP.
  14. i agree with you guys, its a great start, BUT did you guys notice that this was started well over a year ago and hasnt been updated since??
  15. got some nice progress mike. the body work does look good. this is looking better.
  16. i like to use all three elements, brush, aerosol and airbrush. with brush ill use a fine tip, 00 brush. airbrush is the best. better control of how much paint you lay down. if you use aerosol, try to spray light coats. if you spray a heavy coat, the paint will dry to the tape and come off or give you jagged edges. all using semi gloss black. i dont like the markers cause they can be too shiney to get a rubber look.
  17. this is a nice car. the one your going to replicate looks pretty sweet. looking forward to updates.
  18. this is really nice color scheme. so it seems as if this one is almost done??
  19. wow, great job on the resto. im liking the color combo with the slightly lower chassis. cool ride.
